Hey Bad Chad……dude you are a true artist. There are only a few people that can chop a top and you do it perfect. I’ve been welding 30 years but I could never or ever would want to chop a top all the geometry that goes into to it is mind boggling, your one smart dude and I respect your talent totally. Never mind these know it alls …all they ever do is buy a custom car and take it to shows ….look what I have you don’t ….screw them. Keep on course your doing beautiful things. I hope one day to meet you and shake your hand. And the Queen is fantastic with a camera! Steve
You also build cars like the guy who doesn't have lots of money and workin with what he has like alot of people do.times are hard and there is nothing wrong with building this way. Your chanel is more realistic to the normal working class guy. When I 1st saw u on history chanel that was the deal,u were using what u had. Now your skills are so high your building with the best and when your at the top the people who can't do what u do do everything they can to nit pick..all the chanels I can watch I watch yours everyday cause I learn and like what you do,it's real to me..alot of shows on TV are unrealistic to me cause I'm not rich with tons of sponsors,it's a hobby not a job..I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand..long winded but I needed to respond to your "different comment"everytime I read the comments I reolise people don't have common sence,I have to remind myself they've prob never built anything. You are a real inspiration and motivator chad.thank you for sharing.
Loving this build, also learnt a lot about ways to go about fabricating and welding. Everyone has an opinion on how to do things, nothing is ever right for everyone or wrong for everyone. Thankyou for sharing your vision and techniques, I’ve learnt a lot BadChad rules 👍😎
I am amazed all the time watching Chad's building skills, however, I am blown away with this build. Amazing journey, thank you both for taking me along for the ride. Hats off to an amazing Truck!
Trivia: The leavings from cutting metal with heat is called dross. What you chip off a weldment when welding with arc, flux core or dual shield is called slag, and the chips and spirals that come off machining is called swarf. I've just discovered this channel and have been enjoying the ford / monarch cabover build. Happy to have found another fellow Canadian to watch eh.
My Absolute favorite build of yours You Make Plymouth proud. Thanks for sharing we fans appreciate your and Jolene's talent. Looks gorgeous perfect lines. Woke up at seven looking like a ten!
the lower panel is perfect for a recessed license plate box! might I suggest going in 4" at the bottom and tilting the plate by going 6" at the top with a plexiglass cover flush with the metal panel. use several small white LED lights mounted in the upper part of the box to illuminate the plate, red LEDs between the white ones connected to the brake lights would turn the plate area red when the brakes are on. i love how this project is coming along. hats off to both of you!
Gotta respect the way that you use your brain instead of your bank card, making efficient use of the materials that you have to hand rather than just going out and buying more. Top job! 👍
Chad & Jolene great work both of you as always! I am really enjoying watching this build and I am curious if you intend to use the lower pipe for hinging the gate. I imagine that I will find out tomorrow at show time. I can not say enough good things about this build, I am really enjoying watching you create this build, and with Jolene's excellent camera work we are able to see everything close up and clearly. Keep up the great work you two!
It is realy cool to follow you and your beter half on the camera and i like what you are doing. I want to dig old cows out, about your small tractor lifting ability. It was awsum looking that you use what you got. Next time you want to use it again, do put your lifting, chain, strap or sling over the bucket to gang down at the back of the bucet, when you attatched the lifting pease to that lifter over the bucket, you wil be suprize how mutch heavier you can lift. I am slowly pick up on your projects and i love it. But thanks that i never hear a swearing word, God also love it. Greatings from New Zealand.
I know you like to express your self with, sometimes wild design ideas, but your conversion of a 4dr to a pickup. WOW, the result is something any of the car makers would have been proud to produce. Congratulations.
Chad n Jolene - I am enjoying this build immensely. Builder myself and suggest taking a thin strip, like the one lying on the floor behind you in the last scene and put a upward slanting connection between the round tubing and the tailgate panel. And use the tubing as a hinge, just like a traditional pickup. Simple and insanely simple to do. Awaiting the door radius work. This has been my favorite build!
Thank you for sharing your projects. I have minimal experience welding and fabricating and learn things with every video that you and Jolene produce. Thank you both.
Excellent excellent excellent! I'm sure a box is harder to do than anything if it's going to be a squared off as you made it! You are an artist and it is great to watch you go through your process! No apologies to anyone. That just shows your humility but I see greatness in what you do I look forward to it every day! Waiting for tomorrow
Looking good!!! I watched another video about 10 minutes long about all about Jolene and how you guys got together and how are you guys work good as a team and getting that Bugatti finished will be the gift for the marriage and how smart she is and all the schooling that she's done. She does all the business you do all the art. You both compliment each other quite well and you keep that Vision going 24/7 and that's why you going to be so much more successful as time goes on!!! There sure was a reason why the good Lord put you together!!! How blessed you both are!!!👍💯😎
Thanks Chad and Joleen for inspiring me. I have a 72 Camaro that I’ve taken liberties with by doing some custom fabrication on. I’ve done some things that I think could have been done on the original design. Thanks for helping me feel good about doing what I like not exactly what everyone else likes. Still a work in progress.
I have watched the truck build pretty much all the way through and I think it’s just great I think you do a great job I hope that they keep on putting more of your stuff on I really like you and Julian’s work
It is amazing, how you fabricate on the fly, and the quality of the end product. My idea for doing the verticals on the ends, and maybe even the center, of the tailgate, would have been to use the round stock to do that job, and fill the void where the tube mounted to the sheet , so that looking from the inside, the corner would have been square, and the outside would have had the symmetrically rounded look. For the bottom hinges, I envisaged using a GM type hinge, but having the protrusion on the tailgate, and the receptacle recessed into the box sides. . Please don't misunderstand and think of the above as a criticism, because it isn't in any way. I am just throwing out my ideas for your consideration. I enjoy watching you do your magic. Bob
I’ve been watching Chad and Jolene videos for a long time. This is the first time I’ve made a comment. This Plymouth pick up is my favourite build. It looks so cool.
This is the best spot on utube. No fake drama, just super workmanship
This truck is a work of art. So glad Chad and Jolene have shown us the process.
Yes, love Chads process, it’s alway the process as he says.

This by far the "purest" design you have created. It looks like it was a factory model. Excellent design/construction.
BEAUTIFUL LOOKING TRUCK

This truck is amazing, you are truly a master at your work Jolene and you Chad are the ultimate car couple. Keep showing us your projects.
It’s looks great , I had a 1947 chevy I bought in a basket that I put a 371 olds engine in with a olds rear end , I wish I still had it!,

nice one mate.
Again
I like that you don't waste your metal..........there are a lot of parts to make a truck bed.... Custom build. Looks very good.
The design of the gate looks great....
So impressed that you can make a truck look so original from a 4 door car amazing 👏
One of my favourite builds since I started following you. The vision you had from the start of this build is amazing
Superb. Hard to remember it was once a 4 door car, it looks so right

This truck is coming along beautifully. Can’t wait to see it painted. You are a craftsman, which is a vanishing art.
I know you like to express your self with, sometimes wild design ideas, but your conversion of a 4dr to a pickup. WOW, the result is something any of the car makers would have been proud to produce. Congratulations.
I’m really liking this truck
