      @@raylee2702 As a Mongolian, i have never heard about it. Maybe it was just some "nazi" politicians were proposing to change back to old Mongolian script which is technically a modified, vertical version of Arabic script.
      Considering globalism, i don't think we will change back to our old script in near future.

    • @Sk0lzky
      @Sk0lzky 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@Todsor Not arabic, it actually comes either from a persian or a related script of some other aryan group. It was then changed to suit some turkic peoples and through uyghurs came to mongolia. But it's still not the same script - there was a major overhaul in XVI or XVII century too lol;
      Either way I've seen them pledge that they'd change all the official signs etc. to traditional script by 2025 on some governmental site though and some friends from mn confirmed it :O

      It's a royal pain in the ass to learn it once you've already started learning the language in cirillic. I hope Esujin is right and politicians are just talking nonsense or will use both scripts.

    Also, what are the rules on capitalizing words? Is it like English?

    Hi Zaya! I read news about the Mongolian government is planning to replace all Mongolian Cyrillic alphabet with traditional Mongolian script from 2025.
    I'm very interested about how native mongolian speakers think about the policy! Are you and other mongolian people able to read traditional Mongolian script? And how will the policy affect your daily lives? How will that affect mongolian learners?
    Sorry for asking so many questions XD and thank you very much for all your videos about this beautiful language!! :)

    • @s2condd179
      @s2condd179 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We're not replacing the current alphabet, we're gonna use it simultaneously. Even though we've been informed most of us doesn't really concerned about that policy. In case you are wondering about out literacy, it's partly forgotten for people over 40yrs old, because we haven't been using it since Russian Communism took over our country and he were forced to switch to Cyrillic alphabet. I would be glad to answer your additional questions, even teach you basics of Mongolian script, and of course for free :)
