So.. the few seconds when I start the video, and i see your skateboard solution for the rowing.. I don't know what can I say Josh... Your determination is unbelievable .. Honestly !!! If a lot of people owns your will power 50 %... not 100.. enough 50% !... They would solve every problem !!!!... so I enjoy the new episode, and I hope you know, a lot of people loves what you doing !!! Stay strong ,and hungry, !!!! Hungary PAY THE MAN :)
Being injured could be an ironic blessing. So many of us see athletes whem they are at their prime but we see the fitness. You are showing us the mental endurance behind the fitness. The human mind is such an amazing muscle we forget how strong it is until we really tap into it. Thank you so much for showing us true grit and resilience.
Josh your mindset is literally bulletproof, too many would take this as an opportunity to sit back, feel sorry and as a result get fat and lazy!!!!! Another awsome PTM - love it
I am an above knee amputee. Cross fit has helped me in so many ways. There are no obstacles just challenges to adapt and overcome. Keep moving forward!!!
I just had a fimeral osteotomy. Been in PT and blood restrictive therapy for 3 weeks. Upper body work out and slow bike is all I can do with leg raises. Watching this is great.
Couple garage gym questions 1. Do you have something on the floor? Coating or something to help with dropping weights? 2. Which rack were using in this video for pull-ups? Thanks Josh! Pay the man!
Your ideals on mental fortitude/toughness are invaluable and hold myriad applications. Your words help me not only in becoming more fit but also in my studies to become an engineer and overcoming ED. Thank you for putting good out into the world, and know that the good you put out is multiplied by your subscribers/anyone who watches your videos.
Even after knee surgery you're killing the workout and doing pull ups like a boss! Love the new series, its so much more than just training videos. Keep up the awesome work and sharing your outlook on life, I think a lot of people will benefit from this. Get well and keep getting after it!
Thank you Josh, for the reminder of being positive during an injury. I just had knee surgery 7 wks ago and it felt like the end of the world for me. After hearing you talk openly about your injuries, I feel more hopeful about my future
So I was sitting here today feeling sluggish and thinking about taking a rest day..., then I watched this and felt like a giant POS! Rise, Grind, and PTM! Thanks for putting things into perspective. Time to GET SOME..., NO EXCUSES.
About to have a little meniscus cleared out on my right knee, so these videos have been insanely helpful on how to keep myself going in the gym even with a more limited capacity as I recover. Thanks for sharing these, Josh!
Josh, these videos motivated me to get my own garage gym started. The top 5 equipment to start a gym that you posted helped a lot. Keep these coming, it helps give me ideas on what workouts to do.
It's incredible watching u doing this, with that kind of injury u have, u still make things happen and train. I admire your mindset sir. Really admire you as an athlete and warrior. I look forward to be a bit like you when I have your age. Very impressive. You teach us how not to quit. Thanks!!!!
I had a little injury that involves knives and cooking on mi left hand and seeing this tips, and how you say to always keep up the mental game, gives me a little pump and energy to go to the gym and do what i have to do to pay the man. Thanks for being such an inspiration man.
This is great stuff - I had a bad leg break a few years back that had me 4 months without walking and my attitude and mentality made the whole thing so much worse. Hopefully somebody who’s struggling with something similar will see this and choose your approach. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Yes! 7 months post ACL surgery here and this injury has definitely made me stronger. Definitely grateful for everything this injury has taught me. Great reminders here! Thanks!
I broke my knee cap and I'm currently on recovery, it's hard to find a variety of exercises on not to fall on the same routine every day. It's a great point to consider mental preparation as our brain is another muscle that we need to train as well. Thanks for sharing these great videos! #PayTheMan
I’ve been enjoying the videos. Especially the last few about training through recovery. Seeing the skateboard trick makes me wish I had thought of that when I had my surgery. Cheers.
The skateboard was really creative, your definitely determined to get it in. Makes me wanna get out there and train for the second time that day. I would like to see how you come up with your workouts like if theirs a science behind it or if your just thinking of something that would make sense. I just wanna know the “method to the madness.” Thanks for the videos Josh!
not just wisdom for working out, but life in general. i try to prepare myself mentally every time, things still catch me off guard, but doesnt knock me down because of preparation. thanks man. some days you just click on a video not expecting to hear what you needed to hear. #paytheman
Wish I had this drive back when I blew my knee out...Instead I took the easy road and am now paying for it....I appreciate you putting this out there though it puts a lot into prespective when it comes to injuries or set backs
Hey Josh as long as you pay the man you’re all set. Keep them videos coming as usual brotha 💪🏽. Love the content as usual, great mind set brotha mad respect.
Great video Josh your really doing good at these and glad your spirit is up and that your just being positive and gettin in some work .... wishing you a speedy recovery over here . 👊💪❤
Hey Josh Spartan Race podcast mentioned you and your "Pay the man" concept!! Now it's becoming a movement! Keep it up bro!! Thanks for the moto videos!
Appreciate the content, and hope your recovery is going well. Actually seeing how you adapt to what you can do and make it fun. I’m working around a rib injury at the moment and seeing you is one of the things that makes sure I keep paying the man... sometimes it’s coin, sometimes it’s bills, sometimes it’s stacks, but I pay what is owed
Definitely know how tough that is. Dealing with multiple meniscus tears can really bring you down but mental toughness helped me through the second and third time and getting me back to getting fitter again!!
Another great vid JB Love that even though you had surgery you keep going with your workouts and yes the whole thing with being mentally prepared i agree keep it up you are the best
Great video man I like how you explain what metal toughness actually means. Always do things smarter the mind is a powerful thing good job and fight the long fight brother
Skateboard solution is epic! Mindset is everything.Mental preparedness goes a long ways to push you past what might thought to be a physical ceiling. #paytheman
The best and clearly the most determined man in the planet, since I started watching your videos I feel more determined to pay the man every single day! And expect more savage videos from u! Respect for u Josh!
Another amazing video Josh this recovery Clips helps a lot thank you so much! I wish you heal quick! Love those final motivation words you're awesome thank you!:)
Before I use to rely on motivation but that only gets you so far. Now I rely on drive cause even on those days that you just dont want to do anuthing. I push my self to do it and get moving. Even if it's just 10 pushups. That's why the analogy of the sand was head on. I like that. Some days are just going suck but still got to go for it prepare your mind for it anyway. Ever since I started watching your vids it helps me continue my drive to make my self better. I found myself saying pay the man during work outs. Thank you for that. Keep up the great vids. Pay the man!!!
Idea: write a short read on crossfit training methods and ideas for injuries/recovery as this caliber for those who have been injured, are recovering, and may one day become injured. I know what the mental struggles are like to have to have to cut back but still try. The motivation and guidance could be a life saver for some to not give up.
People always talk about age as a detractor. Well you're by no means old Josh but you can definitely tell where your experience is coming into play. You'll be healed up and ready to hit it before any of the younger pups would because most would be taking un-necessary risks and prolonging their recovery. Well done.
Really appreciate your explanation on mental preparedness as opposed to mental toughness. You become fitter by preparing the body, therefore you must be better able to deal with challenges by preparing the mind for them. Never thought of it that way, and it just hit a note for me, really helps thanks. Good to see how you can adapt to injury too, really appreciate all you guys share. Hope the leg heals up for you soon, will be great to see Bridges name up on the leaders board for the 2020 crossfit games.....
Hey, nice video!! You talked about a machine that flex and extend your knee... CPA I think you said it was.... I got an HTO surgery with 3 ligaments reattached... never heard of that machine. It's been 18months, I still don't have a full flexion and extension.... HELP!!! Haha
Keep after it Josh... From the adaptive crossfit community, we salute you sir for still Paying The Man!!!!!!!!!!!! Try that rower with no legs now!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Josh, been watching your videos of you competing wearing a plate carrier. I just recently puchased one and have been running up to 6 miles for 1st workout and hit the gym for a second with my wife. Thank you for your service, keep on keeping on, can't wait to see you compete again. Paying the man!
Josh, it would be kick ass to meet and work out with you man! Been following you since I got into the world of CrossFit a few years ago! Thanks for what you do!
I have a second knee surgery coming up. Great video for motivation. Ever think about making and selling apparel, decals, etc? “PTM” You're an inspiration. Thanks man. from Texas
Josh - Wish you had a nice 50 Meter Pool close by to incorporate into your workouts.....some nice 250 Meter free-style sprints in the water...then, pop out of the water to Pull-Ups with Weighted Vest + Dips + Push-Ups ....back into the Pool for another 250 Meter Sprint and then back out again [you know the drill]... = No hard sharp impact on the knee, but the rhythmic movement of the legs in the water will assist healing...also, the Cardio of the Free-Style Sprints in the water would be off the charts...another super great cardio is true Deep Water Running. Thanks for some great vids. I hope the knee is gerting better soon. Could you one day make a wod where you use the plate carrier ? Thanks again. Jesper (Denmark, Europe)
I would really like to see a video talking about your biography. I think alot of people look up to Josh and it would be nice to see his humble beginnings
It’s funny. I don’t like crossfit at all but your videos kept showing up in my recommendations. Then I saw how much you interact with your fans and are willing to spend time to answer questions. I really respect that, so I subscribe and like your videos to help out your TH-cam metrics. Karma is a funny thing.
Awesome video as always! I am wondering if you could do a video on what you would do if you have a shoulder injury like rotator cuff? I have been trying to train through my injury but it doesn’t seem to be getting better with stretching or light weight warmup routines. Thanks man!
Thanks for being an example of overcoming adversity. Often I make excuses why I can’t workout today. I can’t make excuses after watching this!
