Totally used to think Bridges was a douche. No clue why though and I was wrong. He's a really cool guy and now one of my favorites. "Paying the Man" is awesome.
That Josh for You, when everybodys nervous, he's all shits and giggles. Then again, doing competetive crossfit isn't stressful, being a frogman under a ship, at night, in the pitchblack water is. Great episode Josh. Get well soon!
Tore my ACL and medial meniscus back in Jan and had surgery 4 weeks ago. Been inspiring to find out your achievements since your injury in 2012 - has given me hope. Good luck with your recovery from this surgery dude, will be keeping tuned in to see your progress
Great stuff man! When I first got into CrossFit about a year ago, one of the first things that got me pumped about it was your celebration after winning the Murph event! So epic, so pumped! Thanks for being a great influence. You seem to be a very well rounded dude 👊🏻💪🏻
@@JoshBridges no problem man, you deserve it! Hey if you get a chance check out one of my coaches at my gym, Whitney Stephenson! She finished 163rd in the open, starting a little vlog too :) th-cam.com/video/F4moElqIEO0/w-d-xo.html
Great interview, I died a little inside when he said marine........ I can hear the news headline “ bizarre tragedy in California suburb, British man found with barbell up.......” anyhoooooo , can’t wait to see this classified project. “Pay the man” by the way is going in my garage gym in big glow in the dark letters made from epoxy.
Hi Josh. Always wanted to do that bike ride. I grew up east county in El Cajon. I would ride from there to the beach and one time I did bike ride from El Cajon to Sunrise Highway. I would recommend getting dropped off at Canada border and cycling home. More fun riding home.
Your videos are great deff keeps me motivated to get better!!!! Thanks for the awesome videos!!! Craig and jazz are great there Chanel also is Another fav!
Yes!! You'll go a few days at bootcamp going through medical and processing so you'll have recovery time. Dont destroy your body or anything, but it would be good to at least maintain! Good luck. Semper Fi.
Absolutely, honestly you need to be going hard everyday. Get your body used to it. Maybe take Sundays off that’s it. Your body is a heck of a lot tougher than you would have ever thought possible. A good work out is 3 sets max effort push-ups and sit-ups after that run anywhere from 2-5 miles. Make sure to warm up really well and then cool down and stretch and yoga or ROM WOD. Also, plenty of strict push-ups. A good warm up would be, lots of ground movements like, spider man lunges, bear crawls, inch worms, crab walk forward and backwards, seal to downward dog. Practice rope climbs, monkey bars. Good luck to you and thanks for signing up.
What gets most guys is the drill! Tell your recruiter to teach you basic movements and some rifle drill. But yeah workout and practice your pull-ups. Do a 1-5 ladder if that’s too easy then do a 1-10 of pull-ups/ pushups and 2 max sets of each then run 3 miles and a lot of stretching and mobility.
I have a complicated question ... if you one day, find the Infinity Gauntlet , and heard your favorite song, but your fingers in the other hands is injured... you will flicking your gauntlet hands ? :D I really love the new episode !!!! Have a nice day, and ..............PayTheMan ;)
The fact that you said Bridges was a Marine vs a Navy Seal would be like comparing an EMT to a doctor. Total fuck up on your part. BUDS is the hardest military training in the world. Props to Bridges for shrugging it off
This Video inspired me, to ask you the following; how about an FAQ as BTG sometimes? If yes,... or if you would answer my question right here.... I would love to know, if you ever trained specifically for strength, mass, stamina and speed? I mean, did you trained in cycles, or was it always a Crossfit-style Training?
My husband was a Marine for 13 years and I feel like many physical challenges bore him to death. He does marathons but that's just "because" and he says they aren't much of a challenge. He hated CrossFit because he cant stand being inside or lifting weights. He tried Spartans. Boring. He's 48 ad then here I am 29 and I cant even run a mile. I am slowly getting into CrossFit because my daughter is kind of interested and I need to get into shape. She's interested because she found this channel out o fascination for your mustache. She extra. I found myself when she was little wishing she was bigger so I could understand her speaking. You couldn't understand a word she said until she was like 7 or 8. Still cant most of the time because she goes a mile a minute. She has broken her arm in3 places once and 4 places once. She has taken some insane bumps, bruises, road rash and fallen off of about a million things. I am always trying to keep mine from getting injured but it just pisses her off. She is 11 and thinks I hold her back. Like I refuse to let her rope climb a 7ft rope. Do you tend to try to slow your kids down or just let them go to their limits with supervision?
Stephen Rushing my husbands always bored with physical things unless it’ll possibly kill him. Me on the other hand, I’ve been inactive due to a neurological issue I developed 10 years ago. I used to do a lot of things very similar to CrossFit so it’s very appealing to me. My daughter only cares that she sees these guys respecting the girls they train with and that they aren’t seen as weak...plus Josh’s mustache 😂 She hit puberty and the boys are slowly getting stronger. She’s actually said why do they get stronger and all she gets is stupid boobs. She hangs on every word that comes out of Josh’s mouth or Rich Froning. She wants the secret to being equal to them. It’s a carrot she will never catch but stop at nothing to achieve. Broken bones don’t even phase her. “It doesn’t even hurt” according to her. She tends to get along more with guys who forget half the time she’s a girl. I don’t know where to draw the line in the sand and tell her chill before you cause permanent injury. I also don’t want to put my foot down and tell her she’ll never match a mans athleticism at the level you want.
@@kristinsearight3813 This is more involved than I want to get in TH-cam comments, but I'll speak frankly, and I hope you don't take offense. It sounds like you are thinking through a lot and have a lot to say. That's usually a sign that you need to talk to somebody, and I can't express enough how helpful airing things out with a professional can be. Hopefully your husband would be on board with participating (sounds like he's not the type, honestly, but don't let the stigma discourage you, too). 1. It's probably just a casual dismissive attitude at this point, but the way you describe your husband's disinterest in constructive physical activity in the absence of danger is not healthy, in practice or observation. The active and passive logical conclusion are total stagnation or self-sabotage/harm. 2. Even as a male with decent genetics, I will never reach the performance of Bridges, Froning, etc. Now is the phase of life for your daughter to build a strong foundation for cardio and movement. I have my daughters in gymnastics and soccer for this reason. Meanwhile, they may grow to be true competitors, or they may grow to understand that some humans are truly built differently. They may be as different from the best female athletes as they are from the males. The age when gender traits begin to magnify is a difficult one, for sure, but it's not all about gender. The fittest female CrossFitters can run circles around me. Plus, they GET to have "stupid boobs". We can't be what we aren't. Aim her towards skill development and competition so she can see where she measures up with her peers. Chances are, as with 99.9%, gender is not her limiting factor. The pursuit is absolutely still worthwhile. 3. The idea that something should be dangerous or destructive to be worth the effort is clearly self-destructive, and the idea that we have to be a certain gender to be strong or competitive is clearly self-defeating. I'd be careful of enabling either of these mindsets. Talking to a professional would help you explore your role in supporting them constructively.
Stephen Rushing thanks for all that. I think it’s common for some vets to seek out more risky physical pursuits. We actively discourage Emma from doing dangerous stuff. I’m not athletic so I was curious about what someone more athletic would take on the situation. My husband definitely doesn’t want her copying him. We ended up giving in a little and let her in his adult karate class. Seems to have satisfied her for now. She’s the only girl again but she’s sensei’s daughter. Plus she can rope climb to her hearts content with a cushy mat if she falls 🙃 it’s always hard to face a competitive person when you aren’t really competitive yourself. I did tons of sports but losing never really bothered me. I was never that good either. I was just there to play. My husband on the other hand has set his sites on some back to back triathlon thing. 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll settle for a 5k. He wants to push himself in something that the challenge is simply finishing in one piece. My daughter seems to be contemplating what you have said here about not reaching the level of these guys...Probably because you aren’t her parent. Again thank you for the perspective. It’s very helpful.
