@@kicknowledgesmith8608 So who saw Jackie Chan in a real fight? According to your logic this applies to him too. We atleast saw Bruce fight in competitions not Mr. Chan so I don't know where you're going with this.
You have to take in consideration that he had so much respect for the guy and bruce was already dead at the time. Jackie is being Jackie. Tyson said same thing about Ali but you know..
That doesn't mean anything. We all know that Jackie Chan is a Man of respect and wouldn't dare speak anything less than admiration for both Bruce Lee and the dead. I personally believe that he should just say "no comment" and leave it at that.
It’s called being respectful. In reality Jackie is bigger and would probably beat Bruce. That’s just the facts. Weight classes exist for a reason. Bruce is a legendary martial artist and actor, and paved the way for everyone who came after him - yes. But stop putting him up on a pedestal when it comes to actual fighting because he’s had 0 professional fights. He was never a real fighter and is just about as credible as Jackie is when it comes to combat. They’ve both only fought street bums. Bruce fought a phony wing chun master by the name of Wong Jack Man but couldn’t even finish him off or knock him out, now that says A LOT.
No, Jackie Chan would not have beaten Bruce Lee. Jackie Chan is first and foremost an actor, trained mostly in modernised acrobatic Wushu, whereas Bruce Lee was first and foremost a martial artist, trained in Wing Chun and inventor of Jeet Kune Do, who also did acting. Some really tough fighters that trained and sparred with Bruce Lee, including James DeMile, Joe Lewis and Jim Kelly, all say that Bruce Lee was exceptional and that he outclassed them. DeMile have also said that Ed Hart and Jesse Glover were outclassed by Bruce in sparring. And these were not actors, they were fighters. Not saying Bruce Lee was the best ever and also not saying Jackie Chan isn't incredibly skilled at what he's doing, but I'm quite sure that Bruce Lee knew a lot more about true, functional fighting strategy than Jackie Chan, or Jet Li, or anyone in their league.
