Great episode! I'm an east coast transplant to Seattle and I had to laugh about New Yorkers rushing for their trains. It's sooo true!! I also agree with Jen that if you are tourist, don't stop in the middle of the side walk! Definitely a pet peeve!! I love seeing your FOs, WIPs, and all that yarn!!!!!
I had my mammogram in early August - I schedule it that time every year. Thanks for the awesome sharing of your crafty lives and friendship. I always love tuning in and knitting along with you.
Another great episode! I appreciate your highlighting and describing the new yarns; very informative! I had my second mammogram of the year in July. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in July of 2022, so I get more now. Treatments are over and all is well, but I can’t stress enough: get those yearly mammos and do your monthly self breast exams! I found my tumor myself that way. Thanks so much for your fabulous podcasts!
Thank you for all the feedback on my question from last episode! That was so helpful. As for this weeks question, I was a good girl and did all my medical stuff which included my mammo. I was long overdue. I agree with Kathleen that yes it's uncomfortable but not for long and the benefits of early detection far outweigh that discomfort. So yay for you all bringing attention to such an important cause.
Hi Pearl - Sorry for the late reply. For some reason this comment was flagged for review -- we don't get too many of those and I just happened to click on that folder this morning... ~K🧶
As a super beginner crocheter, thank you for the info on yarn subs! I'm learning something new every day! I'm a few years away from a Mammo, but my mom is diligent every year and so will I when I can - grandma
Always such a delight to sit and knit while watching and listening to all of you lovely women! Indeed, I receive my annual mammogram! Thank you for the VITAL public/health service announcement regarding the importance of regular mammogram screenings. Early detection leads to much better outcomes! LOVE that you are health conscious, fiber loving, wonderful folks! Thanks for another fantastic episode. 💕💕💕
I did get my mammogram this year! Always good to check! I love the sweaters and wearing something different to Rhinebeck. I'd love to see unique and different sweaters again. Not that the bigger name aren't talented and worth the time, just that there's so many beautiful and unique things to make. Always a great podcast! Kathleen, love love your bag! All the best, Kimberly
I agree with Kathleen, you should finish the sweater in green Amanda..it’s gorgeous! I haven’t scheduled a mammogram yet🥹Always great catching up with you guys🥰
As always your podcast is so appreciated. Thanks for all you share. I got my mammogram done in early July. Got a callback 2 days later and since then I have had a surgical biopsy, followed by a lumpectomy( they removed a portion of my breast the size of a mandarin orange which is about all I have to begin with😁), and then I received a breast cancer diagnosis a few days later. I never had pain, changes in my breast, or felt a lump. It was the mammogram that caught it. I begin radiation tomorrow followed by medical oncology. It is early stage and had not spread. I will never ever complain about a mammogram again! I hope all you lovely women out there make your annual mammogram a priority. And by the way I have another mammogram already scheduled for January and one in July too! These appointments will be happy days now because it will mean I am still here to enjoy life.💕
We are so glad that the mammogram helped you catch your cancer early! Thank you for sharing your experience and all our best wishes to you as you complete your treatment. 🧡🧡🧡
Great episode ladies - always so much to learn. Love the new yarns and appreciate the discussion about yarn substitutes. Thank you for the important question regarding Breast Health. Yes! I have my annual mammogram scheduled for December.
I am scheduled for my Mammogram in November! I really enjoy your podcast! Love seeing all your projects. Although I have been knitting small items (dishcloths, scarves, etc.) for years, I am branching out and recently finished my first (summer) sweater. You all inspire me! Your segment on yarn fibers was so helpful and informative. Thank you!
Hi Kathleen, Jennifer and Amanda, thanks for another inspiring and enjoyable podcast! All your finished objects and Wip's are all so pretty. The new yarn in the shop looks nice! I have been loyal every year getting my mammogram , already scheduled for this year! Great question and reminder for everyone to get a mammogram, it saves lives! Happy Knitting to all!
My mammogram is in June my anniversary month. We have a high Breast cancer risk in our family so I never miss my exams. Amanda’s sweater is going to be stunning in the sold bottom. I think with the slimmer modification it’s the best choice. Kathleen’s hats will be so cheerful in the dull winter. Jen I would love to have a blanket like that on my be or arm of my knitting spot to cuddle up in.
Breast cancer effects so many ppl and their family’s. My mom is in remission from breast cancer. I’m happy she is winning her fight. Mammos save lives!
Great episode!! I had my mammogram earlier this year and faithfully get it done annually. I love the Svensdatter sweater and have been looking at the details of the class and the yarns!
I just had this year’s mammogram so I’ve got almost a year before I need to schedule the next one. Enjoyed the episode- love seeing the different yarns you carry!
I look forward to your podcast....to see the lovely items you create. Thanks Kathleen, Jennifer and Amanda for sharing your craft with all of us. My mammo is scheduled for Dec....thanks for the reminder.
I agree, mammograms are important along with checks for the current silent killer...ovarian cancer. My 2 yearly appointment is scheduled for 16th October. I really enjoy your podcasts. ❤
Love this episode.. The opinion segment was very informative and conversational…made me feel that like I was in the room. I live in the Midwest but wish I was close enough to have your shop as my LYS. My mammogram is scheduled. Due to dense breast tissue, I also must have an ABUS. The tests are not as painful as they were 20+ years ago. The machines are still cold though.
I just had my mammogram at the beginning of the month because my sister had found out she had breast cancer. I knew I needed to get it done sense my last one. Thankfully it came back normal.
Thank you for your fabulous episodes ! You ladies make me smile so much. Also, thank you for mentioning getting a mammogram and sharing how important it is to schedule. I just turned 42 on 10/10 and I’m scheduling my first one. This is so important for women to do. 🩷🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
What a marvelous episode! you ladies can talk all weekend as far as i am concerned. :) I love the question of the week. Yes, i have it every year- however, i met a woman at the safari park where i volunteer who told me that for women with dense breasts, like me, we need to be aware that the monogram doesn't necessarily pick up everything. Self exams are really important - so stay close to your ladies everyone. :)
I have a pretty major Lanolin allergy. I have to use superwash if using wool or I have to choose a different material. The superwash usually is stripped of enough lanolin that it allows me to use without a serious reaction.
Have my yearly mammogram. Yes, I remind my friends all the time. It’s very painful to see my sister having cancer. Diagnosed15 years ago stage 4. Now it’s metastasized all over her body. I have no words.
I wish I could hang out with the Yarnia women at Rhinebeck! That would be fun, what a generous offer. I will not be there-I will be at my daughter's first swim meet. Some day I will make it to New York for Rhinebeck ;)
Yes! I have been getting mammograms since I was 31 due to my mom being diagnosed at 38 and losing her fight at 45. Two of her sisters also had breast cancer with one dying at 52 from the horrible disease. My mother's oncologist told me not to wait until I was in my 40's.
do the ribbing in stripes of the other colors - like a Marie Wallin pattern - she has a number of patterns that have striped ribbing at the waist with colorwork at the yoke
Drops patterns….I am a really experience knitter I stopped even looking at the website! . Their patterns are cute in photos. But so ill written! This summer I rewrote another one!

@annevolkman4189 - thanks for sharing and also glad yours was caught early and you're doing well now!
Before Kathleen said to finish it in green, I was thinking the same thing, finish it green. Very pretty sweater.

It is scheduled for this month actually. What a great reminder!!

Always have them , nice you reminded the ladies 😘 love you information on the yarns😊
I am scheduled for my annual gynecologist and mammogram for the same day. Always in my calendar for the following year. Thanks for your pep talk.
Great episode!! I had my mammogram earlier this year and faithfully get it done annually.
I love the Svensdatter sweater and have been looking at the details of the class and the yarns!
Thanks for the mammogram reminder. I will schedule this week.
Cancer survivor! Was clear this year! Mammograms are so important!
I just had this year’s mammogram so I’ve got almost a year before I need to schedule the next one. Enjoyed the episode- love seeing the different yarns you carry!
Scheduling my mammogram this week, thanks ladies!

Love the opinions! Don't forget to self check...recently I felt what I thought was a lump just before my scheduled mammogram...luckily all clear!🎉
@lesliekarnew9717 - you're so right! 🧡🧡🧡
Always. And pain/discomfort always depends on the technician. 😊
I just had my mammogram at the beginning of the month because my sister had found out she had breast cancer. I knew I needed to get it done sense my last one. Thankfully it came back normal.

My mamo is scheduled for January. As well as other regular testing. Fun times! Love those colors
I did have my mammogram in August. You must realize that having a mammogram is so much easier and far less painful than having breast cancer!
What a marvelous episode! you ladies can talk all weekend as far as i am concerned. :) I love the question of the week. @jacquelinepirotta - That is a great point - thank you for mentioning it! 🧡🧡🧡
Yes, have mine every year! I even have the "films" sent to my Dr sister as that is her field. So she has all of mine to compare etc.
I love knitting Drops patterns and nearly everything I knit are their designs
It's nice that you have had success with them. In our experience most people do not.
Every January and I schedule it for the next year on my way out. So important!
I have a pretty major Lanolin allergy. I have to use superwash if using wool or I have to choose a different material. The superwash usually is stripped of enough lanolin that it allows me to use without a serious reaction.
This was so much fun I watched it twice! I was so excited when you all had FOs. Woohoo! And the WIPs are
I would also have a split hem! That would provide ease around midsection. And all in green!
Always! Tuesday, December 5th✔️✔️✔️
No I haven't scheduled mine yet. Enjoyed your show as always.
Have my yearly mammogram. Yes, I remind my friends all the time. It’s very painful to see my sister having cancer. Diagnosed15 years ago stage 4. Now it’s metastasized all over her body. I have no words.
@user-nw2ix4kc8n - we're sending love to you and your sister
I have my next mammogram scheduled for December! I hope I get to see you in Rhinebeck!
I wish I could hang out with the Yarnia women at Rhinebeck! That would be fun, what a generous offer. I will not be there-I will be at my daughter's first swim meet. Some day I will make it to New York for Rhinebeck ;)
Yes, you definitely have to let us know if you're coming out this way! Love your podcast!

@Bobcatmomma - excellent advice - the general recommendations don't work for everyone - earlier and more frequent exams may be called for. 🧡🧡🧡
I already had my mammogram this year. So far, I have done 1 every year since I turned 40.
My brother is an accountant and his wedding was officially at 12:34 and 56 seconds on 7/8/90.
Wow! That's some dedication to numbers! 😊
Also, check ravelry project pages to find a look you like and see what yarn they used to see what they substituted.
@tracisumner251 - great suggestion!
Had my mammogram in August. Really doesn't hurt that bad - maybe a little embarrassing - but a definite every year! 😮
I have! So important to do this.
I had my mammogram in March. I receive a letter reminder and then a week or so later they call to schedule the appt.
Hi! You still carry Furreal, yay! I'm interested in making that blanket. You say. you used "a whole bag", but how many skeins is that?
Yay! It's such a fun project! A full bag is 10 skeins. 🧡🧡🧡
do the ribbing in stripes of the other colors - like a Marie Wallin pattern - she has a number of patterns that have striped ribbing at the waist with colorwork at the yoke
That could be pretty too!
Today was the day for me! I had my mamo at 8:20 was out by 8:30😃😃
@beans1566 - great timing!
I have a breast MRI scheduled for November. I have to get one every two years in addition to my mammogram.
I had my annual mammogram (3D!) in July. It's not that horrible. 😏
Drops patterns….I am a really experience knitter I stopped even looking at the website! . Their patterns are cute in photos. But so ill written! This summer I rewrote another one!
We agree!
You were talking about dates, the last day of this year is 123123
You're right - that's fantastic! Thanks for the heads up! 🧡🧡🧡
