Thanks Gavin, yeh I’ve got a CTS gt fight rod pe 6-8 9ft and Stella 20000. I use Zman StreakzXL as well as Abrolhos tackle mcpaddles and fatboy swim by razor edge lures. I use a 3oz jig head mostly, the retriever is just a few flicks of the rod as I wind in the slack then after doing that a few times I open the bail arm to drop back to the bottom and keep repeating the process

Thanks Scott. Yeh I used to use bait much more but I try not to these days, herring fillets are my preferred bait if I’m not after groper. Bonito and tuna generally run in autumn but there won’t be any around just yet👍🏼
Guys, most of those fish were really best up... You guys gotta improve your process if you want to try and release... These fish are getting mangled being brought up and are surely injured going back in.... I know the intention to release is there but it serves no purpose if the fish goes in half alive... =/

Its a rough coastline with big swell down here, weve tried using a net to land the fish but it normaly gets stuck on the barnacles unfortunately.
