Ran some blue water through it, been digging through foam for days, one of the most difficult repairs I've ever done. Ended up having to replace an entire hose that was cracked would have just been digging it out inch by inch. Getting there, slowly but surely.
nice video--thanks. but why do hot springs tubs leak so much? do they not glue/clamp all their hoses? and why does watkins continue to use this hard foam garbage instead of a superior open foam alternative like Icynene?
Recently I went shopping for tubs. Most all are huge chunks of foam! Wellis tubs arent all foamed up, instead the exterior panels have insulation on them, pull them and you can see all the hoses. Also has ABS floor pan and polymer frame (no wood). Leaning towards one of those.
problem is wellis ones dont insulate well and cost way more to run for that reason. They are easier to service that is true but insulation wise jothing beats the full foamed tub.
What about a tub that is solid plastic- can I cut away sections in a last ditch effort to find leak? Or, will it be structurally unsound after cutting off sides? This whole tub thing has been nothing but a hassle, IMO. Considering zaw saw to cut it up and throw out in sections.
I know Limelight series spas have clamped jet plumbing. It's made in Mexico and the labor is cheap. The Highlife series is.made in California. Do they clamp their jet tubing as well? I have a 2019 Envoy. The airline hoses are clamped but I don't see any jets in view to see if they are clamped as well. Are highlife series tubs prone to leaks?
HELP POOL guys - - I replace the top part of the pump - but it's leaking like crazy now ... can you look at this quick video and make a suggestion? Also i have 2 pumps on this hot tub. Can i just cap off the 2 water leads when i remove this pump and just run it with one pump for a while. I want to make sure the heater is working (use tub from craigslist) but can't get pass this problem ... :( - my video - @
I think the hot springs manufacturers need todo come up with a better way to insulate the hot tubs. That hard dense foam is a joke . Its very hard to work with and work on .Alot of the brand new hot springs tubs will be leaking within the first year. When they spray the foam at 700 plus degrees, the plumbing weakens at the joints. There stupid for that.
@@willoggthth they all have there down sides.Masterspa would be my numbers one pic.Artisean spas,Sundance, jacuzzi,I’ve been service tech and I own my own hot tub company.Hot springs makes a good tub.But it if you ever get a leak it’s just nearly impossible to repair depending on we’re the leak is and they are expensive.

Like the video! Wondering when do you typically see leaks starting, years 7,8,9..etc? Are there some brands worse then other for leaking? Keep it up!
