Because indians ancestors originally come from the Mediterraneans not india and you do know this is true beacuse one of the rivers in india has a name of african king. India met Africans living there already and african are the one who taught your ancestors agriculture, science and how to built toilets. Indians are how cousins.

And then I was forced to give a presentation to all of them regarding my achievements. "Hi everyone, I have a Engineer's degree and work as an Account Director for...". Random aunties: "Enginiaaa???" or "Directoooooh???". "You have done well my son!". Also when giving all aunties a ride back home: "Is that a BMW?? Well done my son!". So many memories...🤣

This comedy is set in Britain for British audiences. If it had been set in Nigeria for Nigerian audiences, the auntie would have said: "It's just a shame that their mother is a Ghanaian!"
Africans are known for poking fun against each other and they don't take offence because Ghanaians, Zimbabweans, etc, would be saying the same about Nigerians. It's an African passtime. In this comedy, Jamaicans have been welcomed into that. But if they don't understand the cultural context of how Africans joke about themselves and each other, they may interpret this as an insult.

It may not be nearly as extreme, but my brother and I were first on our dad's side to go to university. All our cousins are older, but we were constantly put in retroactive competition with their kids. We were all treated a bit like performing animals or servants at gatherings. When I came out, it was a bit of a relief to be considered a bit of a black sheep and not have to compete anymore.

At every family gathering, my mom must tell everyone that I'm a senior official, I'm so busy managing and coordinating programmes for my district. She kinda twists the truth at times.
