Great review & very nice knives. I've got a truckload of GEC's and still adding more. I have 4 #48's so far, and I've been wanting to pick up the 2 you have here. All the 48's have the same deal with the backsprings at halfstop, but it's not a "flaw" at all. Sure, some of their knives & the oldies have flush springs at halfstop, but that is more rare, even with knives made a long LONG time ago. I know because I've handled many of them. So to anyone who won't buy or like a knife because the springs aren't flush at halfstop, all I can say is, your not going to have many knives at all. So long as the springs are flush when the blade is fully opened & closed, that's plenty good for "production" knives........and GEC just kicks everyone else to the curb in that department. For the money, they can't be beat. Thanks for the video, I just subbed.
The backsprings can't sit flush on the 48 pattern because the height of the knife isn't great enough to allow for then to remove enough material off of the tang to allow for flush fitment while maintaining the blades structural integrity.
+Howabouthetruth Thanks for the sub! Yes, i am personally not bothered by springs that arent flush at the half stop, either way GEC's knives are by far the best value for the money. Thanks for watching!

use the lip of your pocket knife to open the tube. a closed pocket knife lip fits perfect in the slot for the tube top, its how it was designed
Thanks for the tip! I will have to try that next time
