I did 10k a day awhile back and the biggest takeaway was that people severely underestimate just how many steps 10k, 15, 30k, etc.. actually is. I thought "10k? That's easy!" but working in 10k steps around an already full/busy day is like a second job at times. Definitely worth it though. The sleep was great!
Wow. My exact thoughts. It was easy when I was going to school and had some flexibility. Now that I have a full-time job, it feels much more difficult to get 10k.
yea 10k on average for most people is like 5 miles of walking. At a 20 min pace per mile, you are looking at 100 minutes of straight non stop walking a day. That's a lot ! Even if you speed walk, which when I do I can maybe manage like 15/16min per mile, that is still 80 min of walking a day. Not that people do not have 80 min to spare, but thinking about how much we all get just on average in our daily lives, usually most of us a far below that mark. 30k steps a day is nuts, I could imagine doing this like twice in a row and feeling so so so sore lol, so badass Makari managed to do it for a week.
The people who have this young lady in their life have to be smiling a lot. They have no choice. I smiled the entire video because of her happy disposition. Don't lose that!
I came here to say the same thing. Setting up the pic/scene each time then walking back to get your phone…sooooo many steps. Great editing…It didn’t go unnoticed. Greetings from Australia.xx

Hey thanks Anastasia! I appreciate it :) And I 100% agree about being careful with the feet 🙌 The guy at the shoe store told me that my old running shoes were a year too old (my fault - not the brand's fault). The new Hokas makes the BIGGEST difference.
Roughly 6 years ago I walked an average of 18,000-33,000 steps a day when I was a valet at a car dealership. This step count and getting in and out of cars all day was so crazy for my health. It was an average of 10 miles every day and I went through a pair of shoes every 2 months! I lost 40 pounds in 5 months and I could eat whatever I wanted. I miss those days and barely get 7,000 steps a day now.
@JQUICK21respectfully disagree with this. Our fore parents walked a lot as that was the norm and look at the health and body composition between their time and ours. The key is sufficient sleep for recovery.
I’ve always been annoyed at just how far I have to walk to get 10,000. I live in the city and don’t drive. We moved, but our kid was still attending school where we used to live, I passed two primary schools on the way to pick them up and walk them home every afternoon,. I detoured to go up to the grocery and back down again toward the school. We went past the school to a park if the weather was nice, and I strolled around with other mums, and then back home again finally and , 8200 or so steps, including whatever steps around the house of up to the post office before doing the school and shops walk. I can’t imagine how time consuming walking 30,000 steps would be.

I don't know how to explain it, but your videos are the ideal mix of spontaneity and perfectionism at the same time. The edits are so clean and professional, but you also leave in raw bits of footage that make the video feel authentic and funny. You clearly worked SUPER hard on these videos but they don't come off try-hard at all. Keep it up (as long as you feel like it)! :D
Just a charming and delightful young lady. There is nothing not to like about this video and her personality. Fantastic achievement also. I do 15,000 steps a day and suspect the mental and physical fortitude required to double that output would be quite a challenge for me, as it would most people. Well done
It's so nice that this was something you were able to do with your family! The clips of the three of you on your walk together brought so much joy to the video it was great to watch :)

Starting something and following through with it is so satisfying even if it technically doesn't matter. 30k was way to high to just jump into. I would've prepped with a months of 10-15k/day before starting the week of 30k just to avoid blisters. In 2023 I told myself id run 1000km I ended up getting 1121km. Then in 2024 i decided I must hit 1200km. I went through a break up right around the start of the year and decided to up it to 1500km. Then my dad passed away at the end of october and that threw me off because I was looking after my mom unexpectedly for a month. I traveled to where she lives without my exercise stuff and its a town of less than 500 people and no gym... screw running outside during the Canadian winter. But anyways I ended up having to run 6km a day every day in December to hit 1500km. That was tough. It is so worth it to set goals though. It certainly helps with mental toughness that will enable a person to take on everything in life.
Such a good video! You really excel at this form of sporty content, however don't let that scare you from trying new things. That's what's so cool about this video, you're trying something new.❤
I really liked this video! I feel like youre onto something though when you said that what made you feel good is the talking to people part. Maybe the best (for me hardest) challenge would be to smalltalk to people everyday, and socialize more in some way. Great video!
If you walked up randomly to my mom and tried to ask her about healthy living tips, she would say, "AHHH! Serial killer! Get away!" If it was me, however, I'd say, try lots of things to see what sticks. I have tried so many times to get into lifting, only to always get bored with how slow progress is and that it's inside. I decided to get serious about running and send it for a half marathon. Now I love running, even in snow and cold, and I'm training for my first marathon. It was a good way to get through my books with audible. Now I just love it for the sake of it.
You are awesome. Echoing everything everyone else said here! You’re so positive, sweet with people, an excellent video editor you really get flow, very talented (you’ve already got a children’s book out on the market!! 🤩) and so much more.

Tip for blisters on feet: you can take a sterilized needle, pop them, then soak your feet in an Epsom salt bath for about half an hour. Afterwards dry them off, apply an antiseptic, leave your feet bare for a while, and before you go for your next walk/run, put bandages over the affected areas (moleskin works too apparently, but I've never tried it). I learned this from an old dude at the gym that was a marathon runner, and it works really well for me.

You’re hilarious, loved watching every moment of your video! Super motivational - keep up your vibe!
Such a good video! You really excel at this form of sporty content, however don't let that scare you from trying new things. That's what's so cool about this video, you're trying something new.❤
Thanks Rebecca - I really appreciate this comment 🥹❤
NO STOP IT I LOVE YOU!!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! Subscribed first video. Keep 'em comin bean x
😂😂 I love this comment. Thank you 🙌
This is the first time I've seen a video from you and I think youre officially my favourite TH-camr now!
I really liked this video! I feel like youre onto something though when you said that what made you feel good is the talking to people part. Maybe the best (for me hardest) challenge would be to smalltalk to people everyday, and socialize more in some way. Great video!
Hey thanks Julia! :)
If you walked up randomly to my mom and tried to ask her about healthy living tips, she would say, "AHHH! Serial killer! Get away!"
If it was me, however, I'd say, try lots of things to see what sticks.
It's wonderful to watch your channel expanding :D Good luck!!!
Hey thanks! I really appreciate it :)
You are so funny! This is the first video of you I have seen, will definitely check out your channel! I love it when people are so funny genuinely :))
Definitely killing it with these challenges, only found you on your last video, and the lighthearted fitness content is so nice ❤❤❤

Yo, why is this like the most authentic person on the planet? Holy crap your personality is amazing.
