Yeah, I'd recommend just grinding off the rivet head and then using a center punch to knock the shank through. Without a head a rivet doesn't clamp, so the punch may not even be necessary. Tap those bad boys out, install and get it buttoned up.
Great video! I wish Ford would have used bolts instead of rivets in the first place. Instead of using an air chisel, could you use a grinder to cut or grind down the rivets?

Why in the hell would you drill out the rivet before you ground off the bottom when you can just grind it off and tap it out
