The weather is forcing my hand on this one. These arent the fields I wanted to put wheat on and im not going to get as much out as I originally intended but something is better than nothing.
Hello young man I always enjoy your videos I have to say the 1955 of yours is my favorite oliver I could spend a lot of hours on that old girl ! I would rather spend time on older equipment then new well be safe and keep plugging along look forward to next video see ya
Sometimes you've gotta go...right/wrong/or whatever. This season has been challenging with slow emergence of beans early on and uneven ripening as a result. None of our beans are ready yet, and were all planted by the end of May. Just haven't had the warm/sunny/breezy days to complete drydown. We've planted wheat in November with mixed results...if you mud it in and the weather turns off cold and wet it's a waste of time. A few warm days with a nice warm shower seem to get it off and running.
Same in South Jersey, rain every 3 days. Yesterday was mostly sunny and 35-40mph wind.10 minutes of downpour at 8:00 am today. Then, back to sunny and windy. These tropical storm remnants keep on coming.
I always like wheat for the summer bump in cash flow.. plus double crops depending on the year. I have never in my years have seen so much seed corn still in the field north of Elkhart and along the state line. Onward never backwards.
That ground worked up nice for being wet been better if you had that no-till drill I know you have talked about hope you have a good wheat crop next year and have a safe harvest when the rain ever stops
Wet year with us in Scotland. It’s coming up nice behind the discs. Have you ever been tempted to drill straight into the ground with out discing it first?
We switched to beans Friday afternoon been picking good around 60 on yield better then I ever thought it would 12 on moisture sure glad we've have storage, sure glad this combine has great lights getting older running at night makes these old eyes work . Hopefully plant wheat Tuesday or Wednesday. From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful
Been picking beans all day 11.4 percent, and the wind blew all day yesterday. I've never made a rude comment on your site , and I don't lie don't need to.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy OK I took it the wrong way I guess I've been in the combine to long. Tomorrow will be the 6th day straight watching a 25 foot head n 400 acres of beans . You know how your eyes feel watching a bean head all day hopefully finish tomorrow. Hope you also got to harvest your crops . Be safe
I like that setup. That disc has continued to impress me since you put those blades on. The field came out looking real nice. I hope it all works out well for you. See you soon in the next one.
That disc looks like it does a decent job man.have you ever considered a no till drill ? I have a JD 750 and love it.what would you get if you were to buy one ? Neighbor has a sunflower he likes it
@@Oliver66FarmBoy what would you get ? Only thing I don't like about the 75o is closing wheel bearings... They make a update kit I just haven't because might go from a 15 to a 20
I like the fall field work. Ethan, make yourself a hydraulic hose support for the tongue on your disc, I noticed @ 21:00 the hydraulic hoses dragging on the ground. Nice ground work video.
The non farming non tractor people do not realize how heavy tractor tires can be with the weights and ballast. Kinda dangerous. Heck the rears on my cub must be 200 lb each.

I don’t think the sun exists anymore. .
North Central Wisconsin here. No rain all summer now it won’t dry out. Unbelievable.

It’s only getting worse.
Looks like it worked up pretty good considering Ethan, weather makes us do a lot of things at the wrong time🧐keep crushin it and keep em comin🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
I was impressed
We have had about 6 mornings with a light frost around here already
Always enjoyed any kind of field work. Therapeutic. Thanks for the ride along Ethan.

Nice surprise to see you discing! Those tractor tire’s really look tough!
They work good.
It's fair to call this year a clusterfuck.
At least your getting things done.
Not much.
Ethan, you just got to make the best of the bad situation unfortunately. Thanks Michael

It does good for a light frame.
Under those tree limbs your GPS will lose signal..... prolly have to steer the line yourself 😁
