  • Learn how to make Khao Mun Gai, a popular Thai street food dish that's flavorful and comforting! In this video, I'll show you step-by-step how I prepare an easy variation of this tender poached chicken served with fragrant rice cooked in chicken broth.
    INGREDIENTS:
    - 1 Chicken Thigh (or 7 oz)
    - 70 grams of rice
-70 grams of bone broth (1:1 ratio with rice as chicken will release moisture)
    - 5 grams of ginger
    - 2 cloves of garlic
    - 1 green onion
    - Salt (to taste)

Very nice video, my mom is from Thailand and she sometimes makes this. Although you are missing the sauce, which really adds a lot to the dish.

      I agree!
Traditionally it's eaten with Nam Jim Tao Jiew (Soy Bean Dipping Sauce:
      3 tablespoons soy sauce
      3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
      2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon sugar (adjust to taste)
      2 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 Thai bird's eye chilies, finely chopped (adjust to spice preference)
1 tablespoon fermented soybean paste (Tao Jiew)
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro or coriander leaves
But if you want to keep it simple Sriracha will do! (I apologize if the recommendation of Sriracha if offensive 😅)

I suscribed to you, got the video recommended in my feed, liked the thumbnail, very easy recipe, will try to make it soon.

Where's the sauce mate? Crying out for a bit of sauce. Very similar to Chicen Rice from Singapore but with that you can a sweet, thick Soya based sauce and chili sauce as well which completes it. If you added that, this would have been perfect.

I agree! I believe all the "chicken and rice" dishes originated from Hainanese Chicken and Rice, and the different sauces is what differs from themn
