I LOVE a monthly challenge. In January I'm not bringing my phone into my bedroom at night! It's only been 2 days, but so far so good! haha. I just have a tendency to scroll until too late and early in the morning. It's a time suck. SO no phone in bedroom now. I have oodles of ideas for monthly challenges if you ever need some inspo. :)
@@BooksAndJams oh that’s a good one! Yes, I’d LOVE more ideas!! So far I’ve got steps, intermittent fasting, no spend, no ice cream, drinking water, walking dogs.
@@BekahBooksandBujo A few more I've done - no cheese, no chocolate, wake up 20 min earlier to read Bible, declutter x amount of things a day, whole30, x number of squats every day...Those are what i can remember off the top of my head. You're exercising your discipline muscle and some are harder than others, but ultimately it's just 30 or so days. Anything is possible!
Don’t be embarrassed-as a fellow mom we do what makes sense at the time. No one should judge you for that as you clearly love your kiddos. I haven’t formalize my goals/aspirations beyond a few here and there.
Don’t be embarrassed about laying with your kids to go to sleep! I think a lot of parents find themselves in your position. I know I am! I have the same goal but with my 6 year old. He’s the baby and I’ve definitely babied him. But you’re right it eats into my night and I want more time in the evening with my husband. I thought about setting a timer and only staying for that amount of time but I may also look up the chair method that you mentioned.
@@MamaMacReads we have a whole routine. Read books, sing songs, say our prayers, then we lay by them for 3 minutes. Once the timer is done, one of us moves to the chair and the other gets the night off! That’s where we’re at so far and it’s going really well!
Hi, Bekah! Yes, I set goals each year. I have 4 areas in which I focus: Self; Financial; Home Environment: Fun. This year the largest area is Self. I use the mind mapping method for drilling down to action steps I can take to achieve desired results. The most important goal for me is the Faith segment within Self. I believe that if I can honestly put this area first; that many of the other areas will no longer be important to me. I believe God provides me with life clarity and with that my goals will change further. Thanks for the video! I pray God blesses your goals and dreams!
I think you are great at setting goals! What will you do, though for 2072???😜 I think you should start a baby name poll. My vote is Ruth Kristin (or Hannah) Gabrielle. Or maybe just Scout. Happy New Year!
I have fun challenge for health and not buying lots of books in 2025. In 2023 I bought around 350 books, in 2024 200 books. In 2025 I desided to do any physical activity and for every1 hour spent on this put in box 100 hryvnyas (ukrainian currency, arround 2,5 usd) and then spend on books only this sum that I will collect during the month 😊 Wish you reach all your goals in this year and best wishes from Ukraine 😊
@@bethanywhite7904 oh for sure! If my children need me for something, I will do what I can. But they’re at a point where they could (and probably should) be falling asleep on their own. This is different for all children and families! It’s just how I’d like to approach it 😊
I think that is funny about the audio books because I have only on a few occasions listened to audio when I wasn't doing dishes or folding laundry and making dinner. I think the only time I wasn't was when I was sick.☺
@@BekahBooksandBujo I am an old fashioned old lady and don't have a smart phone of a phone to play games on. I do sit at night and play some on our desk top and don't get any reading done.
The ice cream challenge sounds difficult, but maybe you can replace the daily treat with a healthier option. Or pair it with another activity that will give you dopamine to replace what you'd normally get by eating sugar. I haven't figured out all my goals yet, but a small one I want to improve is flossing. I'm at 100% so far this year. 😅
