    I started using pine needle tea to raise my immune system sporadically a year ago. I did catch the unmentionable and decided to treat myself with this drinking 1 time daily. My breathing started improving immediately and my pulse began to normalize. (As a side note my oxygen stat was 90 and my pluse was racing up a high as 145 with no movement). In a week I felt much better and continued to drink it daily for about 3 weeks. This was back in June and I'm fine. As a side note I am a senior, almost 70, but I take no medications, so i wasn't concerned about medicinal interactions. Also, if gathering this yourself, the tree can be pine, fir, cedar any tree in the pine family that produces a pine cone. (Must produce a pinecone)). For long term storage it can be kept in a jar. It still works when it is dry, (don't let it mold) or some people freeze it. Once your health stabilizes i don't recommend drinking this daily. I drink it like twice a month to maintain. It is a medicine and you should keep that in mind when using it. If you know how to energy test yourself that is an excellent way of knowing when to take it. I am also a retired LPN. Good Luck!

    As a nurse I gave Tamiflu in the drug approval trials...Tamiflu works by using the shikimic acid pathway to address the spike proteins on flu virus...the so-call vax's or inoculations are based on shikimic acid, so this use is solid science...(for the record... coming from someone who worked the drug trials).

    A traditional Native recipe is pine needles, rosemary and licorice root low simmered for 15 minutes. Strain and enjoy. The best way to store is by creating a tincture using 50% gain alcohol. Costco has a vodka from Italy that's from grains but will need to be reduced by 20% to achieve the 50% desired. I use it straight but 50% would be optimal. Hope that helps anyone in need of the information.

    How do you store the pine needles after they have been picked? How long are they good for after being picked? Should I keep them in the refrigerator for freshness and to preserve them? Are they still good once they've dried out? Should I let them dry out? I just learned about pine needles recently in the past month and I immediately ordered some. They came in today 5/20/21 and were shipped Saturday. I'm not taking pine needle tea as an antidote for the shot because I did not and will not take it but I wanted it for all of the benefits I've found it has! They came in a zip lock type of bag, which had a slight bit of condensation in it. They seem pretty fresh and they are White Pine needles. I just need answers to the questions I mentioned above since I can't seem to find answers for them, sorry there are so many! Thanks for your help and for your video!

    Greetings from the Pine Tree State! Nice video and a lovely pot (my favorite color). Question: In my native Bavaria we make liqueurs with the fresh tips of fir and spruce (even eat them right off the tree for the yearly "spring cure". Can one use pine needles to make this as well? (In US I use a clear alcohol base such as vodka, in Germany Korn). It is Christmas in a bottle and wonderful in the winter months as an aperitif or digestive.

    Another thing I've been unable to find anywhere on any reputable sites*
    Once I have gathered up all of the needles, how do I save them? With other tea leaves, I wash, pat dry, then put up in a dark space, allow them to fully dry out for 2+ weeks, depending on what kind. I don't have a dehydrator/dehumidifier/don't use oven on low for 49 hours.
    So, How do I "dehydrate" or dry for storage for use later? Ois there another way to do so for using larger needles, or it's just crushing down all the needles to powder then storing in a container?
    Reputable sites meaning that somewhere the side effects & health warnings are posted clearly*

    @lightcellar I bought dryed pine needles as apparently our pine surrounding are all poisoned with toxins. Will Dry be just as potent to use? I cut them with scissors into smaller bits and have 1 table spoon 3 times a day in a cup of boiled water.
    I'm also wondering, is it possible to boil up an amount for my 3 cups in one go? And drink the rest later, possibly cold? Or does the warmth add to the healing? Or should I just be drinking it freshly brewed?
    If you have answers that would be great as I can't find these anywhere, and I'm going off grid in the next few weeks so access for boiling multiple times a day isn't ideal🌱

    • @thelightcellar
      @thelightcellar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hmmm, that's too bad about the pine being poisoned... Fresh is better, but dry is still good too. One other option is to freeze the needles to preserve them fresh. You can make enough tea and store as well. Doesn't need to be fresh tea, how or cold. All is good.

      @thelightcellar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      for sure! I had done so in the previous video, but you're right, best to include here as well. I am using Lodgepole pine. There are over 100 different types of pine and all are good. Some research suggests Ponderosa when eaten by cows in large quantities has an abortive effect and traditional cultures stayed away from consuming pine if wanting to get pregnant. There are other types of coniferous trees like Yew which can be poisonous and another tree like Norfolk pine which is not actually a pine that you would want to avoid as well.

    • @thelightcellar
      @thelightcellar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      great questions! I woudl avoid anywhere near a railway line as they heavily spray the tracks. Also further from a road the better. You can dry them to store them. However, good thing about pine is the needles are available year round, so if you're able to pick fresh or what you need a couple weeks at a time you'll get the best potency.

    • @TamaraGrace
      @TamaraGrace 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's fine for 2 year olds or, it was for mine. I don't know if your child has any kind of health conditions and such. So my best advice for you, if that is the case, to ask your child's pediatrician just to be safe. Aside from that, my kids haven't had any kind of problems with consuming it.
      How much? Usually a coffee cup. We have a mini mug for our four year old but Usually she gets a second cup of it. The kids love it because they help forage it. And she's 4. But has drank this tea at a much younger age.
      How long to make it for? Some people say to boil the water first and cut it up real fine to extract all the juices but I've just thrown it in there and have kept a close eye on it until you get this real pale yellow color. Again, everyone's different, idk which pine you guys have at yalls location. So to be safe, I'd recommend to boil the water first, then throw your pine in, and let it steep for 5-10 minutes. (Or until you see that pale yellow color.) Use your best judgment on that. No you don't want to turn your tea into turpentine and you don't want to kill off all your nutrients that your extracting from your tea. (Which could be happening the way I've been doing it.) But at the same time, making this tea isn't something that has to be exact. You can boil your water in the microwave, throw your needles on the stove top and bring your water up to a boil, it's however you feel comfortable with making your tea. Don't forget to wash your needles before you process them. And try to add a bit of honey for sweetness (1 yr old or up...)
      I'm sorry I don't have exact information, but it's kind of up to you on what your comfortable with. And so sorry I'm just getting back with yall. I just now saw this. Take care!

      I would question the source or age of needles. When picking you only want the young shoots near the bottom of the tree. The older one above would likely have more tannins in it. Natives would never consume needles that were not young and fresh.

    I have concerns about getting too much vitamin A. I take supplements to get what I need but it can be a bad thing to get too much vitamin A. How many times a week is safe if you take supplements already? New sub here🙂
    Oh yeah I have to ask: I heard if you boil the needles it makes turpentine. Right or wrong?

    • @thelightcellar
      @thelightcellar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the major risk of getting too much vitain A will come from animal food source which contain true vitamin A vs beta-carotene which then needs converted. There is a process to take the resin and distill it to create turpentine. I believe the small naturally occurring resins in pine needle tea will be more beneficial than harmful in this regard.

    • @InHisName999
      @InHisName999 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Turpentine is from the Bark of the tree removed at lumber mills. It was a byproduct of the Lumber industry in which they found a way to profit from it. Just good business.

      yes, any pine, so long as it is pine. The toxic varieties like Yew and Norfolk aren't actually pine. There are also reports that ponderosa is toxic but it is not. This is only in refernce to some cattle eating it as an abortive. Pine should be avoided if pregnant or wanting to conceive.
