I get a mother’s instinct to protect their child and for them be successful. But, the situation changes a bit when someone’s saying that can and will destroy the planet and there’ll be nowhere for that child to be successful at and that same child is the strongest person who could prevent said destruction.

Oda did Kidd so dirty it's not even funny. He didn't have an arc or really a backstory like with law or Bonney, the villain he fought barely has any connection with him unlike Doflamingo. His one true "W" was against Big Mom, and it wasn't even a one on one. And, do y'all even remember say, 3 members of his crew? I liked Kidd cuz of his design and his name referencing the IRL pirate, but he was so mishandled then just sent to be off-ed in the most "whatever" way possible in like 2 seconds against the Hypeman himself, Shanks. They even had him go out horrendous with his crew literally begging Mihawk's lesser to spare him. It was a cool scene for the red-haired rodent, but just the end of the trend of Kidd getting hoed
Personally I hate Kidd for being framed as someone on the same level of the other Worst Generation pirates yet having little to no feats to actually SHOW that. Couple that with him not actually being an engaging character personality-wise(blind arrogance, overall dickheadedness) I just can't tolerate his presence in the series

Another thing about why Kidd doesn't use his powers as "creatively" as other magnetism users in fiction is because Kidd's Magnet-Magnet Fruit is much more limited than the characters he's being compared to. People be comparing how Magneto (an Omega-level mutant with unlimited control over all forms of magnetism) uses his powers to Kidd (who can just attract and repel things around him) and somehow wonder why he isn't doing the crazy things Magneto can do. When put into context how Kidd's powers actually work, it's actually extremely impressive he's able to make such complex contraptions in the first place.
I actually agree with you,devil fruits generally have some kind of limitation that stops them from causing big calamities. Some people may mention the tremor fruit of white beard but his powers don't affect nature like xmen storm powers.

THANK YOU! People wanna see Kid do things that his fruit simply doesn't allow, like ripping iron out of the blood of his enemies. But that feat isn't possible with this devil fruit for a couple reasons. 1) The iron in all our blood isn't magnetic. When Magneto did it, it was only because the guard had a butt-load of magnetic iron injected in him by Mystique. 2 and most importantly) The fact that Kid has to Awaken his fruit before his magnetism can affect people. We literally saw him need to awaken first and THEN touch Big Mom just so he could magnetize her. And even then, his magnetic power still doesn't allow that to happen.

That's the head canon of fans who just start pushing the limits of powers when it just doesn't work like that. Chichi definitely gets too much hate, like yeah she can be a nag but she is a good wife and mother and even though she used to be a fighter she doesn't want her family to get killed which makes sense but she also should realize that Goku and essentially her kids need to fight to protect the planet, which I'm pretty sure she does but it doesn't mean she has to like it which is understandable if you were put in her shoes

Trained with Roshi for some time to beat the hell out of Goku in the tournament. So I'm not hating her for basically being a mother. I'm hating because she won't compromise or appreciate her husband and son's efforts of keeping the world safe. Goku's biggest promise was that after cell is dead, gohan is free to choose whatever he wants to do with his life. It may have cost him (Goku) life, but he kept it.

People really misunderstand Kidd. He is Luffy except he is more of a real life pirate. It is a cautionary tale of what Luffy’s adventure could have easily become. Without Shanks and Garp’s guidence Luffy could have easily ended up torturinf civilians who stood in the way of his goal. With slight differences Luffy wouldn’t have the whole crew he can trust and rely on, he’d just have his Killer. Both of them rush into situations and lose a lot, but Luffy is able to get back up because he is fighting for a goal much higher than everyone else, while Kidd is just merely fighting for the One Piece. The drive to get back up again is just higher than Kidd’s. And Luffy also has the support system he gains to help him when he falls. In another world Luffy would have just ran at Crocodile and been utterly destroyed like Kidd in Elbaf. He shows us just how dangerous this world is and with one small mistep even Luffy would be defeated like him
I agree, Luffy doesn't have plot armor, but being the main character, he isn't gonna go through those trials and tribulations like Kidd. If he did, One Piece would be a lot more annoying to follow.
Kidd shows almost no haki feats even slightly comparable to the other two super novas he was fighting with (law has an op df and still was showing more haki feats than Kidd so focusing on his df is hardly an excuse) and considering the hype around his character initially with him having the highest bounty of the supernovas and such youd expect him to be better than he displayed.
I ain't gonna lie, Yamcha was pretty misunderstood, he wanted to fight first, even though krillin was volunteer to beat the saibaman because he was aware that he died before so he couldn't be revived twice, even if he dieing, let's be honest and the same thing could've happened with Krillin (since Yamcha was dead due to a sneak attack) but they wouldn't be able to revive him so it's a W for Yamcha
Seeing how Yamcha gets treated really tells me how DBZ couldn't be released today with the "anime culture" we have present now. People may clown on him even more.
I do agree with the points on Chi Chi but I think one of the things that often makes her unlikeable is how she looks down on Goku and his actions while also often yelling at him or treating him poorly without much reason such as ignoring him after the fight with Vegeta despite him being almost dead and hearing that he was killed, saying that Goku was a jobless husband despite having a well paying job as a farmer, and having a fixation on money. She does show moments of caring for Goku but I feel that the gags of her being strict can make her difficult to sympathize with especially not understanding the importance of Goku's training or understanding him as a person.
I agree on your gags point a lot. Those really make characters easy to dislike. Gauche from Black Clover is a good example, where he's so weird with his sister it makes me dislike a lot of his interactions. But the running past Goku after the Saiyan Saga was still reasonable in my opinion. I look at it like this. I've seen Goku survive crazy stuff in the past, so although I see that he's beaten extremely badly, I have faith he'll be fine. Gohan on the other hand, might just die considering he's young and not proven at all. It's possible that Chi-Chi ain't think about that stuff whatsoever and I'm just yapping, but that's my perspective on it.

The way I see it: Kidd is the most understandable. The literal point of his character is to always reassemble after a loss. His power supports this. I think it’s dumb after a while, but it makes sense. ChiChi, while annoying, technically never had big goals beyond Goku. So as a “normal” mother her reactions to Gohan are a bit realistic even if illogical. She’s somewhere midway. Sakura isn’t as impactful as the other main characters by a landslide, which wouldn’t be an issue if she wasn’t hyped as the main female lead. At least I can somewhat excuse Hinata and her lack of impact because she’s treated as a side character consistently.
Another thing about Yamcha is that he chose to pull up to that fight instead of Krillin because he know Krillin had already died before and couldn't be brought back with Earth's Dragon Balls. Had Krillin been the one to get caught by that Saibaman, the whole arc would have gone differently, and he wouldn't have been there to throw the spirit bomb, or explore Namek, which also would have meant Goku might not have went Super Saiyan. So not only did Yamcha only lose cause he got sneaked but he also heroically sacrificed himself for his friend and possibly saved the universe from frieza indirectly.
Started watching db at 5. I used to hate chi chi. Now I’m 19 and I’m lookin back at it realizing she’s just a W mom. Sucks that many older people couldn’t see that.
My first issue with Sakura was how badly she treated Naruto, then immediately running to him to bring Sasuke back to the village. Early in the series, she literally makes fun of Naruto for being an orphan. Yeah, Naruto could be annoying, but lines were crossed. It just reminds me of people I know in real life. Plus the fake love confession to Naruto. My second issue with her is how she let her feelings for Sasuke cloud her judgment during missions. They establish pretty early in the series that sometimes, the mission is more important than your feelings, but only sometimes. Like after being treated poorly by Sasuke multiple times, I stopped feeling sorry for her. I didn’t read the manga, though. Based on this video, Sakura actually seems so much better in the Manga, so I wonder why they made her the way she is in the anime.
Yeah in the manga she’s actually interesting, consistent, and has meaningful character development. She quickly learns to sympathize with Naruto and Sauske and actively tries to treat them better and regrets hurtful comments she made in the past. Instead of prioritizing Sauske over everything else she equally cares for her friends to the point that she was willing to let go of Sauske for the safety of said loved ones. The anime did her dirty

Another thing about kid and his fruit. Metal manipulation is a powerful hability but were not on the xmen world where depending on the writer magnet can control even the iton on your body + modern world where metal is everywhere, we are on a world where most stuff are wood and metal is mostly some swords guns and bolts which probably wouldnt do a lot if you cant completely reconstruct their form. If you think about it kid being able to build that cannon with just scraps from all ships around is still impressive
My biggest issue with Chi Chi, is her lack of logic: What good is going to gohan as a schoolar, if this alien threat erase all life in the plane? Including Gohan and herself. Worst part of all, Chi Chi herself is a martial artist, she could balance gohan life, she could allow him some hours of training, supervise them; but she does not any of this, she chose to be this overwhelming mother. Heck, the word chose does not fit here, because Chi Chi is so annoying, that at points just does not fell like a character, but just something used by Toriyama. Yes, every character is used by the authors to do whatever the author decide, the things is, we should not fell that way

Chi chi is very understandable. All in the same day, her husband was killed and then son got kidnapped for a year by an alien when he was 4. Then both of them get severely injured fighting more aliens. Then whisked off to another planet against her wishes when Gohan was 5/6…. At that’s just the beginning. There is very little reason as to why Chi Chi should condone her family risking their lives and forcing her to just live with it. No one ever tells her thanks or communicates. They always say “the world is in danger and we need your minor son and easily killed husband to do so.” I would be mad too after a while and not want anyone in my family to fight. Her whole life was turned upside down and everyone but her responded like it was no big deal. She’s the most disrespected character in the series and it’s crazy to expect someone not to become bitter after being forced to live a life you didn’t sign up for. Being a fighters wife is one thing, being with a universal savior is another.
Honestly, I took the beatings from Sakura as gag hits and ribbing between Sakura and Naruto. But the major thing that shot her character down for a lot of people was her spontaneous love confession to naruto to try and get him to come back to the leaf and forget Sauske. After that, the hate skyrocketed from in fan jokes to actual hate and everything that she did to make herself better would be mugged down by her confession scene. Also, she is downplayed because she is compared to her teammates which is honestly unfair considering that in that same chapter/episode it showed the entire Konoha 13 show off their skills and Sakura is the only one to take out a horde of Ten Tail clone monsters without assistance. She's a great medican ninja and a fighter, it's just that one action muddied her achievements harshly.
I think these are fair criticisms of her character. But in my opinion, I don't think a majority of Sakura haters actually have their opinions as constructed as yours. From my own experience, it's usually the hitting Naruto a bunch, glazing Sasuke a lot, in conjunction with that stunt she pulled on Naruto with the love confession.
Kidd is also based off the real pirate “Captain” William Kidd, who is known for being the most unluckiest as well as the least successful pirate despite his infamy. I feel like Oda purposefully put Kidd in those situations to mirror or parallel the real version of him, like he does with a lot of his characters that are based on/inspired from real people.

Ngl the only reason i don't fuck with Chi chi is the fact she didn't wanna balance with Gohan. Gohan had a responsibility to the planet after her husband died who was the main guardian of the fucking planet. This is not to say her wanting her son to be smart wasn't reasonable the opposite. It's the fact she didn't wanna meet in the middle at all despite Gohan having a responsibility bigger than her and him. Additionally chi chi's main offense for me is definitely Saiyan Saga. She was a terrible fucking wife to Goku at that time. Man legit just came back from the dead to save the earth and his son. Is basically more battered, damaged, and broken than any moment she's seen Goku in. She's seen Goku wounded but never at death's door and at the mercy of her opponent. He admitted he needed Gohan's help. But man she both IGNORED goku but treated him like shit and the thing is he DIED for his son. But i think the main reason chi chi gets hate is because Bulma legitimately shows more understanding to both trunks and Vegeta. And Trunks is always shown to be a smart kid at the end of it all while being pretty strong. She's straight up a better wife objectively.

In her mind the only other person she knows Naruto cares about to a similar degree is her so as an attempt to save Naruto she tried to use that to her advantage. I hate chi-chi because of forcing gohan to not make his own decisions, she also forced herself on goku before he knew what love is. Forced goku to marry her, also tends to be over controlling over everyone she knows.
The anime did make Sakura look worse. But kishimoto wrote her character terrible regardless of whether it's manga or not. Sakura in the manga still poisoned her allies for no particular reason and had some stupid romance rivalary as a back story. Than still doesn't give Naruto the respect he deserves as much as she does Sasuke because she isn't attracted to him. If I'm being honest Sakura has always been a shallow character that the author himself didn't know what to do with her.

Well the thing sasuke called her out on that, she then regretted it and decide that she would be kinder to naruto. This doesn't change the fact that the studio made her look worse in the anime.

Also, one of the scenes I showed, where Sakura was sitting on the bench, she was growing from the experience of making fun of Naruto's experience and decided to be nicer to him moving forward. Now, in the manga, she just sits on the bench, learns and grows, and we're on to the next scene. In the anime, we see Naruto run up to her and do something stupid, and Sakura gets angry with her, portraying her in a negative light and taking away the growth. Apologies for the long response. I just as if being thorough is necessary sometimes.

Chi chi has the communication skills of a termite, nearly 30 years of marriage she can't communicate properly with her family members she is always aggressive when characters are mad at her it's because she bark too much dawg, imagine ur gohan u were abducted and fought dinosaurs for a year then saw 4 of people die and ur dad almost die again, and ur mother at instigation of something like "I wanna go to an alien planet to revive my dead friends" doesn't speak to u like ur a child but instead barks at u like a rabies infested dawg ( gohan here is a 5 y/o ) I know the situation is stressful but if she can't manage a her kid she's the one whoes wrong. Again never in the run time of show chi chi has been objectively wrong but the way she always has to attack everyone and be aggressive incapable of communicating with anyone softly makes her irritating to watch and for the characters to be around. Plus it's a cartoon unlike most people nowadays no one is tha submerged into "fandoms" of shows like dragon ball many people watch it because it's entertaining to watch on the weekends after u know u have 3 assignments to work on and submit by Monday. The show is a good way to kill time and many people's "escape" from reality so when u turn on TV expecting people to throw hands and talk mad shit then are hit by the unfortunate fate of hearing her bark for 10 minutes, I don't expect anyone to go and "wow she's such a cool character all she does is talk about her problems and is rude to everyone on screen all the time I like her"

I'm quite looking forward to seeing a part 2 of this, because there's another character where the anime tweaked them a little bit and causes them to be overhated: Orihime from Bleach. The differences are minute, but they do stack up and even Kubo didn't fully like how Studio Pierrot handled her. (Although, even if we're talking strictly of her anime version, I do still think she's overhated)

I hate chi chi(find her annoying) not because she loves her son and wants him to experience differences and nuances in life. I just find her unbalanced in how she goes about it. Your son and husband are the 1 and 2 strongest people on earth at the time of the Android saga. By that time he’s has been in enough situations and told you stories about his exploits. So you know the galaxy is just different. Why would you not at least want him to be ready in case it happens, from Gohans ages 4-12 it happens the world was in mortal danger 3 different times. Once a month in the hyperbolic time chamber is literally enough to counteract him slacking. Had he done this by the time Frieza came back he potentially could’ve at least drawn a tie with him when he came back. Heck, A time traveler saved them from mecha Frieza, they didn’t know Goku was coming back. (i.e. the 3 year time skip during the Androids Saga) -Chi-Chi also ended up giving in to Goku's demands about the training, especially when it came to Cell when it was quite literally one of their last options to train Gohan. I liked Kidd cuz of his design and his name referencing the IRL pirate, but he was so mishandled then just sent to be off-ed in the most "whatever" way possible in like 2 seconds against the Hypeman himself, Shanks. They even had him go out horrendous with his crew literally begging Mihawk's lesser to spare him. It was a cool scene for the red-haired rodent, but just the end of the trend of Kidd getting hoed

Another thing about why Kidd doesn't use his powers as "creatively" as other magnetism users in fiction is because Kidd's Magnet-Magnet Fruit is much more limited than the characters he's being compared to. People be comparing how Magneto (an Omega-level mutant with unlimited control over all forms of magnetism) uses his powers to Kidd (who can just attract and repel things around him) and somehow wonder why he isn't doing the crazy things Magneto can do. When put into context how Kidd's powers actually work, it's actually extremely impressive he's able to make such complex contraptions in the first place.

THANK YOU! People wanna see Kid do things that his fruit simply doesn't allow, like ripping iron out of the blood of his enemies. But that feat isn't possible with this devil fruit for a couple reasons.
1) The iron in all our blood isn't magnetic. When Magneto did it, it was only because the guard had a butt-load of magnetic iron injected in him by Mystique.
2 and most importantly) The fact that Kid has to Awaken his fruit before his magnetism can affect people. We literally saw him need to awaken first and THEN touch Big Mom just so he could magnetize her. And even then, his magnetic power still doesn't allow that to happen.

Trained with Roshi for some time to beat the hell out of Goku in the tournament. So I'm not hating her for basically being a mother. I'm hating because she won't compromise or appreciate her husband and son's efforts of keeping the world safe. Goku's biggest promise was that after cell is dead, gohan is free to choose whatever he wants to do with his life. It may have cost him (Goku) life, but he kept it.

People really misunderstand Kidd. He is Luffy except he is more of a real life pirate. It is a cautionary tale of what Luffy’s adventure could have easily become. Without Shanks and Garp’s guidence Luffy could have easily ended up torturinf civilians who stood in the way of his goal. With slight differences Luffy wouldn’t have the whole crew he can trust and rely on, he’d just have his Killer. Both of them rush into situations and lose a lot, but Luffy is able to get back up because he is fighting for a goal much higher than everyone else, while Kidd is just merely fighting for the One Piece. The drive to get back up again is just higher than Kidd’s. And Luffy also has the support system he gains to help him when he falls. In another world Luffy would have just ran at Crocodile and been utterly destroyed like Kidd in Elbaf. He shows us just how dangerous this world is and with one small mistep even Luffy would be defeated like him
I agree, Luffy doesn't have plot armor, but being the main character, he isn't gonna go through those trials and tribulations like Kidd. If he did, One Piece would be a lot more annoying to follow.
Kidd shows almost no haki feats even slightly comparable to the other two super novas he was fighting with (law has an op df and still was showing more haki feats than Kidd so focusing on his df is hardly an excuse) and considering the hype around his character initially with him having the highest bounty of the supernovas and such youd expect him to be better than he displayed.

I ain't gonna lie, Yamcha was pretty misunderstood, he wanted to fight first, even though krillin was volunteer to beat the saibaman because he was aware that he died before so he couldn't be revived twice, even if he dieing, let's be honest and the same thing could've happened with Krillin (since Yamcha was dead due to a sneak attack) but they wouldn't be able to revive him so it's a W for Yamcha
Seeing how Yamcha gets treated really tells me how DBZ couldn't be released today with the "anime culture" we have present now. People may clown on him even more.
I do agree with the points on Chi Chi but I think one of the things that often makes her unlikeable is how she looks down on Goku and his actions while also often yelling at him or treating him poorly without much reason such as ignoring him after the fight with Vegeta despite him being almost dead and hearing that he was killed, saying that Goku was a jobless husband despite having a well paying job as a farmer, and having a fixation on money.
She does show moments of caring for Goku but I feel that the gags of her being strict can make her difficult to sympathize with especially not understanding the importance of Goku's training or understanding him as a person.
That and the gags in the anime make her extremely violent

I agree on your gags point a lot. Those really make characters easy to dislike. Gauche from Black Clover is a good example, where he's so weird with his sister it makes me dislike a lot of his interactions.
But the running past Goku after the Saiyan Saga was still reasonable in my opinion. I look at it like this. I've seen Goku survive crazy stuff in the past, so although I see that he's beaten extremely badly, I have faith he'll be fine. Gohan on the other hand, might just die considering he's young and not proven at all.
It's possible that Chi-Chi ain't think about that stuff whatsoever and I'm just yapping, but that's my perspective on it.

The way I see it:
Kidd is the most understandable. The literal point of his character is to always reassemble after a loss. His power supports this. I think it’s dumb after a while, but it makes sense.
ChiChi, while annoying, technically never had big goals beyond Goku. So as a “normal” mother her reactions to Gohan are a bit realistic even if illogical. She’s somewhere midway.
Sakura isn’t as impactful as the other main characters by a landslide, which wouldn’t be an issue if she wasn’t hyped as the main female lead. At least I can somewhat excuse Hinata and her lack of impact because she’s treated as a side character consistently.
The problem with Kidd is he doesn’t grow he does the same thing over and over this man refuses to learn haki when he’s seen what yonkos can do with it

Another thing about Yamcha is that he chose to pull up to that fight instead of Krillin because he know Krillin had already died before and couldn't be brought back with Earth's Dragon Balls. Had Krillin been the one to get caught by that Saibaman, the whole arc would have gone differently, and he wouldn't have been there to throw the spirit bomb, or explore Namek, which also would have meant Goku might not have went Super Saiyan. So not only did Yamcha only lose cause he got sneaked but he also heroically sacrificed himself for his friend and possibly saved the universe from frieza indirectly.

Started watching db at 5. I used to hate chi chi. Now I’m 19 and I’m lookin back at it realizing she’s just a W mom. Sucks that many older people couldn’t see that.
Yamcha is not hated, he is the poor boy hated by the author for how badly he is treated.
My first issue with Sakura was how badly she treated Naruto, then immediately running to him to bring Sasuke back to the village. Early in the series, she literally makes fun of Naruto for being an orphan. Yeah, Naruto could be annoying, but lines were crossed. It just reminds me of people I know in real life. Plus the fake love confession to Naruto.
My second issue with her is how she let her feelings for Sasuke cloud her judgment during missions. They establish pretty early in the series that sometimes, the mission is more important than your feelings, but only sometimes. Like after being treated poorly by Sasuke multiple times, I stopped feeling sorry for her.
I didn’t read the manga, though. Based on this video, Sakura actually seems so much better in the Manga, so I wonder why they made her the way she is in the anime.

My biggest issue with Chi Chi, is her lack of logic: What good is going to gohan as a schoolar, if this alien threat erase all life in the plane? Including Gohan and herself.
Worst part of all, Chi Chi herself is a martial artist, she could balance gohan life, she could allow him some hours of training, supervise them; but she does not any of this, she chose to be this overwhelming mother. Heck, the word chose does not fit here, because Chi Chi is so annoying, that at points just does not fell like a character, but just something used by Toriyama.

Chi chi is very understandable. All in the same day, her husband was killed and then son got kidnapped for a year by an alien when he was 4. Then both of them get severely injured fighting more aliens. Then whisked off to another planet against her wishes when Gohan was 5/6…. At that’s just the beginning. There is very little reason as to why Chi Chi should condone her family risking their lives and forcing her to just live with it. No one ever tells her thanks or communicates. They always say “the world is in danger and we need your minor son and easily killed husband to do so.” I would be mad too after a while and not want anyone in my family to fight. Her whole life was turned upside down and everyone but her responded like it was no big deal. She’s the most disrespected character in the series and it’s crazy to expect someone not to become bitter after being forced to live a life you didn’t sign up for. Being a fighters wife is one thing, being with a universal savior is another.

Honestly, I took the beatings from Sakura as gag hits and ribbing between Sakura and Naruto. But the major thing that shot her character down for a lot of people was her spontaneous love confession to naruto to try and get him to come back to the leaf and forget Sauske. After that, the hate skyrocketed from in fan jokes to actual hate and everything that she did to make herself better would be mugged down by her confession scene.
Also, she is downplayed because she is compared to her teammates which is honestly unfair considering that in that same chapter/episode it showed the entire Konoha 13 show off their skills and Sakura is the only one to take out a horde of Ten Tail clone monsters without assistance. She's a great medican ninja and a fighter, it's just that one action muddied her achievements harshly.
I think these are fair criticisms of her character. But in my opinion, I don't think a majority of Sakura haters actually have their opinions as constructed as yours. From my own experience, it's usually the hitting Naruto a bunch, glazing Sasuke a lot, in conjunction with that stunt she pulled on Naruto with the love confession.

Kidd is also based off the real pirate “Captain” William Kidd, who is known for being the most unluckiest as well as the least successful pirate despite his infamy. I feel like Oda purposefully put Kidd in those situations to mirror or parallel the real version of him, like he does with a lot of his characters that are based on/inspired from real people.

Ngl the only reason i don't fuck with Chi chi is the fact she didn't wanna balance with Gohan. Gohan had a responsibility to the planet after her husband died who was the main guardian of the fucking planet. This is not to say her wanting her son to be smart wasn't reasonable the opposite. It's the fact she didn't wanna meet in the middle at all despite Gohan having a responsibility bigger than her and him.
Additionally chi chi's main offense for me is definitely Saiyan Saga. She was a terrible fucking wife to Goku at that time. Man legit just came back from the dead to save the earth and his son. Is basically more battered, damaged, and broken than any moment she's seen Goku in. She's seen Goku wounded but never at death's door and at the mercy of her opponent. He admitted he needed Gohan's help. But man she both IGNORED goku but treated him like shit and the thing is he DIED for his son.
But i think the main reason chi chi gets hate is because Bulma legitimately shows more understanding to both trunks and Vegeta. And Trunks is always shown to be a smart kid at the end of it all while being pretty strong. She's straight up a better wife objectively.

In her mind the only other person she knows Naruto cares about to a similar degree is her so as an attempt to save Naruto she tried to use that to her advantage. It pained her to do such a thing but there was very few things that could’ve been done. Not saying it’s excusable but it’s far more nuanced than ppl give it credit for.

The anime did make Sakura look worse. But kishimoto wrote her character terrible regardless of whether it's manga or not. Sakura in the manga still poisoned her allies for no particular reason and had some stupid romance rivalary as a back story. Than still doesn't give Naruto the respect he deserves as much as she does Sasuke because she isn't attracted to him. If I'm being honest Sakura has always been a shallow character that the author himself didn't know what to do with her.

Well the thing sasuke called her out on that, she then regretted it and decide that she would be kinder to naruto. This doesn't change the fact that the studio made her look worse in the anime.
She grows from that incident and actively tries to be more sympathetic in the manga while the anime makes it seem like she hardly cares

Also, one of the scenes I showed, where Sakura was sitting on the bench, she was growing from the experience of making fun of Naruto's experience and decided to be nicer to him moving forward. Now, in the manga, she just sits on the bench, learns and grows, and we're on to the next scene. In the anime, we see Naruto run up to her and do something stupid, and Sakura gets angry with her, portraying her in a negative light and taking away the growth.

Chi chi has the communication skills of a termite, nearly 30 years of marriage she can't communicate properly with her family members she is always aggressive when characters are mad at her it's because she bark too much dawg, imagine ur gohan u were abducted and fought dinosaurs for a year then saw 4 of people die and ur dad almost die again, and ur mother at instigation of something like "I wanna go to an alien planet to revive my dead friends" doesn't speak to u like ur a child but instead barks at u like a rabies infested dawg ( gohan here is a 5 y/o ) I know the situation is stressful but if she can't manage a her kid she's the one whoes wrong.
Again never in the run time of show chi chi has been objectively wrong but the way she always has to attack everyone and be aggressive incapable of communicating with anyone softly makes her irritating to watch and for the characters to be around.
Plus it's a cartoon unlike most people nowadays no one is tha submerged into "fandoms" of shows like dragon ball many people watch it because it's entertaining to watch on the weekends after u know u have 3 assignments to work on and submit by Monday. The show is a good way to kill time and many people's "escape" from reality so when u turn on TV expecting people to throw hands and talk mad shit then are hit by the unfortunate fate of hearing her bark for 10 minutes, I don't expect anyone to go and "wow she's such a cool character all she does is talk about her problems and is rude to everyone on screen all the time I like her"

I'm quite looking forward to seeing a part 2 of this, because there's another character where the anime tweaked them a little bit and causes them to be overhated: Orihime from Bleach. The differences are minute, but they do stack up and even Kubo didn't fully like how Studio Pierrot handled her.

I hate chi chi(find her annoying) not because she loves her son and wants him to experience differences and nuances in life. I just find her unbalanced in how she goes about it. Your son and husband are the 1 and 2 strongest people on earth at the time of the Android saga. By that time he’s has been in enough situations and told you stories about his exploits. So you know the galaxy is just different. Why would you not at least want him to be ready in case it happens, from Gohans ages 4-12 it happens the world was in mortal danger 3 different times. Once a month in the hyperbolic time chamber is literally enough to counteract him slacking. Had he done this by the time Frieza came back he potentially could’ve at least drawn a tie with him when he came back. Heck, A time traveler saved them from mecha Frieza, they didn’t know Goku was coming back. I mean to put this in perspective, I work in the med field with a lot of Drs and lawyers. many of them are hardcore gym rats. And train in martial arts and compete. Just saying

Nah still don't like ChiChi still because she's completely unreasonable the DB is threatened on a yearly basis and Chichi is more than familiar with that like seen with the 23rd tournament. This means Earth needs as much people fighting as possible. There wouldn't be any exams to study for if Earth isn't around. She was also literally asked if she prioritized Gohan studying over Earth's fate and she said yeah lmao. Plus, the story itself portrays ChiChi as dumb for not letting Goham fight as a bad thing which is why it shows everyone being proud of him when he told her to shut up and let him go to Namek. There's also that scene where she completely ignores her crippled husband to run to Gohan lol. You can show concern for Gohan, but Goku literally cannot move yet you don't bat an eye? There also isn't even any need to demean training, ChiChi was fighter and she should know that training & studies coexist y'know? I think she fully deserves the hate she gets, I'd understand people defending her (there's been a LOT of that recently) but those defenses only make sense if you ignore her most egregious scenes which caused the fanbase to hate her in the first place. Plus she literally ended getting what she wanted with the whole Gohan scholar during the time of peace (y'know when the reason to train wasnt there?) so her complaining quite literally was useless💀
-She ignored Goku because he's been in those situations before, while Gohan, a preschooler, has not been proven to survive any crazy fights like that
-Most of the time when Chi-Chi didn't want Gohan to train, Gohan wasn't proven yet, and there were plenty of other fighters capable of defending Earth. (i.e. the 3 year time skip during the Androids Saga)
-Chi-Chi also ended up giving in to Goku's demands about the training, especially when it came to Cell when it was quite literally one of their last options to train Gohan. She allowed Goku to train with Gohan quite quickly

11:18 I know Yamcha is weak compared to the likes of Goku Vegeta and others but he's still strong in his own right and yeah he died to an exploding saibamen but that's because he had a bad feeling about them and didn't want Krillin going first, his death pose is a classic funny meme, hell even Dokkan made a joke card of that same pose and other animes reference that pose to which is also funny, but he did save his friends from meeting the same fate as him plus I like Bulma she's really smart and really sexy but she was a very bad girlfriend to Yamcha and hopefully he gets a girlfriend who appreciates him in the future because he deserves a win after everything he went through.

-law gets a deep backstory that has important lore to the world in it
-Kidd gets a deep backstory that explains his character in a sbs
-law had a mid devil fruit to cut people in half which does no damage while Kidd can control magnetism and beat any marine that’s not stronger than
-too post timeskip where we see law has like the best devil fruit in the series while Kidd fruit is sidelined for only a metal arm and can’t use conquers Haki when he was literally put in the same situation as luffy to learn ryou at least but nope
