The useless or written off female character especially when they have so much potential only for the mc to be the night in shining armor and the girl being the damsel in distress we need a whole arc for to save when we know she’s better than that.
Freindship power. Enemies to lovers depend on idea of anime.how thay treat tom in tom&jerry. Girls tryi'g to be famous. Cringe jokes. Romantic in bad situation (Nami believe on luffy🤣Hina come to fight just to see takemichi 😂). Obvious things(like one anime like among us girl kill people and too many stupid things and she says only enemies of humanity). Nad way to start romantic. Gay stuff but only jojo not(sry to everyone who support them). Bad way to start situations. Getting away from the idea and focus on hintai. And more:-D
@@kidd2264YES! This right here is my biggest issue with female characters in anime. They mangaka will be like “ this is Sarah, she is the top scoring member of this prestigious combat academy and is a prodigy excelling in every aspect” and she’ll have her own goals and ambitions, only to be reduced to a side character who’s only goal in life is to find a husband/ wife and settle down.
Ikr it’s like these girls can be like, “I love you with all my heart “and then the MC is like “oh you like me as a best friend right I like you too” This makes me want to choke out the MC
One of the tropes that infuriates me the most is when a villain has the MC captured and is about to kill them, but they just start YAPPING outta nowhere. It's just a quick fix so the good guys can rescue the MC. Ever since I was a kid I've hated it
like a villain will defeat the MC and they are on the floor then the villain puts their foot on the Mc head and says “Do you know how I managed to beat you?” Then starts showing some S CLASS YAP bro like “I spent years analysing your abilities and how you breathed and stuff now I can beat you” then they finally raise their sword and slash but surprise surprise someone has come and picked up the hero and the villain is somehow shocked
@@jaieregilmore971yeah but the story is completely aware of that and doesn't try to take itself too seriously with him being the eminence in shadow. he's literally doing it because he just wants to be that way and it's cool/fun to him. it all plays into making fun of the trope and still being a fresh take on it which is why so many people enjoy the story as is.
Exactly bro, I hate that "being human" became an overused trope. At first it was cool but now every single major entertainment contains humans; what happened my alien brothers? Now-a-days all Galactic shows contain humans. Authentic galactic shows ain't getting the attention they deserve smh.
There's a time in lockdown I had an Isekai faze and the stories usually were. Mc is weak then gets a big boost. Beats up bad guys. Gets a harem along the way and it ends. Straight mid for 12 eps I agree with this
@@RandomGirl785 and for some reason or ot- no, it was just denseness they don't notice the harem they gathered or return their love. When the main character gets in a situation with a girl where he walks in on her changing or the girl falls on him for whatever reason and he gropes her by accident and tries to explain but the girl doesn’t wanna hear it and slaps him This trope PISSES ME OFF
EXACTLY! Like girl, do you think this guy purposely planned to fall down 22 flights of stairs, injuring himself in the process just so he can land on you and accidentally touch your chest?!?!?
I remember seeing a scene where the MC's sister walked in to wake him up and she saw he was bricked up in his sleep, what did she do? Slap him hard awake for no reason while calling him a pervert its things like that that makes me just wanna scrap with the girls for that shit bro
It’s annoying cuz the only thing they want is to show a girl get molested or naked. How do we do it without compromising the character and story?? Well we make it an accident! That way we can include shitty slapstick where a man gets “justifiably” beat up and a woman gets to be exposed or touched against her will! Win win! It sucks. Firstly I don’t see why we need fan service like that, especially with an unconsenting person, and I abhor slapstick. Maybe it’s different for ppl who like slapstick. Maybe they include the joke cus they know it doesn’t work that way irl (if a woman is molested on a train and physically fights back against her attacker, she can get arrested).
I think the virgin, oblivious harem MC troupe might be the worst. It's so awkward to a point that I fail to see the comedy in it and genuinely think the writers don't know how to write male and female dynamics.
For real, I think that as far as the harem genre goes, I like three main characters in this type of story, especially if it's a harem that is not actually a harem.
@@RayeJosephusAtillo-df4dlI'm quite disappointed with Odas "development" of some characters. That trope is even more questionable, when you think about: "You manage to come ot of nowhere before the enemy and his target, to block the attack. Why didnt you used that moment, to make a critical attack agains the enemy and maybe kill him instantly? Or push him away, with a attack, instand of blocking it?"

@@bobby31723 exactly like people think it’s cool and a good character moment for Naruto but in reality it’s super unrealistic and instead of feeling like an actual person he just felt like a 2d entity of forgiveness like had obito not died he would’ve faced 0 consequences just because sasuke orochimaru and kabuto are all free they was even bout to give sasuke a new arm but he denied it as a form of self punishment
I honest to goodness have no idea how Orochimaru got off SCOTT FREE. This man commited mass genocide, human experimentation on adults and children, killed two world leaders, and tried to destroy the biggest village in the world. He was also a former member of the largest terrorist organization in the series, and he has no remorse whatsoever. And now he gets treated like that weird auntie/ uncle you see once in a blue moon.

One thing I hate is overpowered abilities. I don't mean abilities that can be overpowered if used right, I mean powerful abilities that are just meant to be powerful, like an Immovable object or an unstoppable force. It's just much more cool to see people fight with normal powers, or weird powers that if used right, are very powerful.
one great example is dough from one piece. This is the exact reason i love jjk. Aside from gojo, everyone makes great use of their abilities, using it to its utmost potential or at least to a point it makes sense
This is honestly one of my biggest gripes with Aizen tbh. Aizen is a cool as hell villain and character, but I HATE how Kyokasuigetsu is literally a deus ex machina that lets him do whatever he wants, especially when he’s already a top tier in the verse. Its like giving Mike Tyson brass knuckles and throwing him in a ring with a dozen unarmed 8 year olds in a fight to the death. And the worst part about this is whenever you bring that up you basically get attacked by his fanbase. Aizen is well written himself, but his Zanpakuto is basically the ability to alter the plot in a way it makes sense. Total hypnosis, which is basically Tsukuyomi on steroids with NONE of the downsides, and even if you see it being cast you can’t defend against it unless you’re touching the actual blade, which obviously Aizen isnt going to let most folks do. Its so hilariously busted that it becomes blatantly obvious that Kubo had to write Aizen in a way that his arrogance is the only thing stopping him from using his greatest advantage in the fight with Ichigo. Granted Kubo did find a way to incorporate that into the story, but his shikai is unapologetically broken. And don’t even get me started on the Soul King empowered Almighty…
@@JohnGlow2Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu was cool when it was used for manipulation, but it started to become too much at a point where basically almost no one can approach him without getting caught. The Almighy is just bullshit, like if Bleach had a huge ass cosmology I swear Yhwach would solo most verses with his hax alone (considering most verses he does anyway)
@@ellingtonf1097 Yeah for manipulation it makes sense, but in the FKT? You expect me to believe that Aizen amidst being rushed down found the time to go down to the ground, swap places with Momo, lay on the ground, have her somehow defend against several captains and tank their hits, then cut down the lieutenants, fly back to the fight and then cut down all the captains? His power is complete hypnosis, not mind control.
Be as angry as you want, ultra instinct is literally just faster reflexs, someone stronger can still kick your ass, it doesnt make him immortal or be able to stop time
The over powered master is a very old archetype because it shows why the world hasn't already fallen apart before the new up a coming characters arrived. I especially liked that Gojo knew he shouldn't and couldn't carry it all on his back which was why he was scouting top tier talent that could reach his level. Like you said something has to go wrong to change the status quo for the cast to pick up the slack but it is how this part of the trope gets handled that determines whether it was all good or bad.
I remember reading that Gojo actually messed the world up by being born. Basically because he was born so powerful the Curses upped their game to counter that and that obviously messed up everyone who is Not Gojo.
There's a scene in a new anime where a girl got drunk almost r@pe the mc pushing him onto the ground then when one of the other girls see's what's going on she hits HIM, not the person trying to sexually assult him but the victim, then the next scene showed him bowing down on his knees apologizing It pisses me off so much
@@BluTru As soon as I read “him bowing down on his knees apologizing” I face palmed. I also hate when the MC acts super pathetic about it and doesn’t even bother making a case for himself, even though he wasn’t in the wrong at all.
@@RandomGirl785 a good tsundere can be great, but so many of these animes fail to understand what makes them good. Tsunderes are good because you know it's a facade. Like, tsunderes are just cold and hostile in conversation because they want to deny feelings. They aren't supposed to actually start beating the person they like. That's not a tsundere, that's just an abusive person. This problem mostly stems from how popular the trope is, to the point that the meaning is diluted.
@@msxd1280 i hate it when they have that scene where a female character has a "scary face" or "scary aura" and has the mc who can kill gods by blinking be scared of her for "comedic affect" even tho that same girl is saved by him all the time

@@gamerj.xtreme575 well most of the time the trope happens in fantasy or isekai anime where the MC is close with some noble or royal and their guard is just disrespectful to the MC for no reason, like I don't know you, you don't know me, WHY ARE YOU DISSING ME?
@@gamerj.xtreme575 the only ones I know of with this trope is a fantasy shojo called yona of the dawn and another I think that has it is Snow White with red hair
The generic face MC is honestly such a big problem. Why? Because you lose memorability. Unless if that MC is very well written (?) or have done something outrageous (Like Anos Voldigoad), I wouldn’t remember jack shit about them. What happened to the memorable shapes design that older animes used to have? Like, I haven’t watched Toriko, know nothing about Toriko except for his name. But I can vividly remember what he looked like. Other examples are: Saint Seiya, Joe Yabuki, Hyakkimaru from Dororo (Though I have watched this one), the big 3, and many 2000’s animes. But now, I can mistake one black haired generic MC for another and only separate them by their clothing! Where’s the variety!
I'm the same way with Toriko😂. Never watched the anime but I can recognize him. In past anime you could differentiate Yusuke Urameshi from Spike Spiegel and Vash the Stampede from Kenshin Himura. All distnct from hair to facial features to clothing. Also helps they all weren't in the same kind of universe/timeline/era/setting which I feel plays a part in this.
@@chaing-kai-shek2862 But even in real life nobody looks the same, heroes come in all shapes and sizes. I hope future animes or shows in general realize this, because it really sucks that the people around the MC look 10x more interesting than him.

To this day I don’t understand why people continue to suck off bakugo, he literally contributed NOTHING to the show for so long cause the issue with this trope so that it only works if the person can be a normal human being outside of their angry fits to balance it out but he can’t even do that. He’s just eternally yelling and screeching. There’s no emphasis or quieter moments or build up, it’s just this constant volume scream. And by the time they finally made him start talking normally more I more or less relegated MHA into just watching clips and fights anyway and ignored the stuff outside of that.
@@mario.gaming Probably because his perversion isn't overdone and over the top, its funny and its not done to the point of being cartoonishly annoying, he may be desperate at times but he's slowly getting out of it and focusing more on his own life
3:38 In my opinion I kinda of find it unfair that the side characters have to be screwed over because “the main character has to be the main villain of that arc”
If we start diverting from the main character, the main character might even become a side character, the conflict will be resolved and you would only be left with a sliver of story with no character development, plot development or meaningful conflict. When all the bad guys are the strongest, people complain, if all the good guys were the strongest, there would be no conflict, and no story. What matters is how the creator handles it.
I got 3 tropes i hate so much: 1. When the MC gets his own heram But genuinely acts Nervous around them, And often runs away from them. 2 when a character has a girl that has feelings for him, but he Doesn't notice them, Or doesn't pick up the Obvious signs that they have feelings for him 3. When a character Doesn't use there strongest moves In the start of the fight, They have to take their time before using the strongest move.
The first one is legit Second one is legit The third one can be done right, like if the enemy might adapt or tank it and then their strongest move is basically useless, so they wait for the right opening to land it, or it's a limited use/high consumption move that can't be thrown out carelessly or it's too destructive. Example is Excaliblast, shit would level islands at full power but Saber can't just yeet one out because she would pretty much kill everyone.
"The sound of the Gion Shoja bells echoes the impermanence of all things. The color of the Sala flowers reveal the truth that the prosperous must decline. However... We are the EXCEPTION!!" -Aoi Todo
One I despise is when the main character is an immature jerk (yelling at people at any inconvenience, talking crap about others, doesn’t value others feelings, being gross about women, etc.) but the show puts him on a moral high ground bc he’s such a ‘great’ person. To me at least they just carry so much negative energy because usually their good actions are based on something that benefits them.
I guess it's only unless the author shows how they developed to that person in the first place, and maybe someone hindered them from becoming a better person, but if he's just like that for no reason then yeah they're dookie
I want a trope where MC does not have a tragic past but someone who wants to become the best and being able to understand others pain despite never experience it
I'm doing the opposite. I'm making an MC who has a tragic past but who doesn't give a shit about sympathy and rarely empathizes with other ls based on their experiences unless they hit extremely close to home (he's the type of guy who'd say cry me a river). He's also not caught up in the tragedy and isn't constantly depressed in the way you would expect someone like Sasuke to be, he acts more like a normal teenager with really no motivations. He had revengr motives, but the unique thing is the first arc basically serves as a final arc in any revenge story where he realizes he would do too much damage getting revenge and he actually thinks about his actions and impulses when he gets friends that don't just, die. The journey is actually kinda complex and it's hard to put it down but he basically becomes more empathetic and self-aware, finding a purpose while the story keeps edging him to go for the revenge route.
Trust me when I say, this trope sucks ASSSSSS. I've seen it on multiple characters and it always turns out cringy, awful and makes no sense. The most notable example I know of is touma from a certain magical index. Dude pretty much seduces every girl he meets by accident and goes "damn I'm so unlucky man wow" just cause he spilled his drink or some petty thing. Like, a girl literally asks you out on a date, how stupid And dense do you have to be to fumble the bag???? And when he starts doing his whole rants I manage to predict it immediately that's i just skip most of the scene. Like, a villain told him science couldn't save her little brother so she hates it. His entire argument was pretty much an over glorified "would he want you to do this tho?". Then he punches the villain, and they magically never decide to do another evil deed. Wow.
Pointless fanservice is annoying because of two things: 1. If you include that much nudity, why censor it? Hell, do it like older anime and show the boobs without nipples! It's a bit weird, but still better than fog, light rays or even complete white-outs. 2. When the fan service actually makes a character useless. I'm looking at you, Tamaki from Fire Force. Seriously, Fire Force needs a third season, just to make this useless crybaby slightly tolerable.
when it came to yamamoto, he was either too cocky or his rage blinded him, in the aizen fight, I believe he woulda absolutely whopped aizen, that's why aizen took heavy measures to suppress his zanpakuto, he was outsmarted & outplayed, and in the tybw, he was enraged cuz his closest friend had just been killed, so the fight between him & yhwach was personal, and yhwach exploited that weakness in yama & used it against him, he stole his bankai & once that happened yama knew he couldn't do anything else anymore
Also its the simple fact he was outsmarted multiple times his whole fascade of "I'll sacrifice my people." Basically disappeared with his arm as he got closer to his people and lost one of the people closest to him. Yammaoto lost cause of his rage and he lost against aizen cause he was smarter than him and he was in no position to use bankai, if he even did in the first place he'll risk the hog adapting. Yhwach also outsmarted him he had one of the twins copy his memories & appearance and made his spiritual presence similar to him. Also butterfly & above AIZEN is Stronger then Yammaoto even using bankai. Plus its the simple fact people seem to forget. He wasn't tryna risk the human world just to beat aizen.
Why do people always say this? It wasn't the fact that he was enraged that he lost. The guy replicated Yhwach's appearance and most of his power. So he's essentially identical to the real Yhwach. But he wouldn't know the full potential of Yhwach because the last time he fought him was a thousand years ago. So him not being angry wouldn't make a difference. Yamamoto couldn't do anything. He already used his bankai on a replica, and his bankai was stolen by the real one.
same ngl like it ain't that deep for me. Actually there is one trope that i personally hate, i barely see them but when i do it just sickens me. The fruity characters. Most times its usually a female character
@@lilkimbu2817 i don't know if this is a trope but something that annoys me is when weak characters (not like normal weak like Yamcha, like shouldn't even be included like ChiChi) try to fight someone strong and end up getting in the way.
I know I’m probably gonna catch flak for this. But my most hated anime trope definitely has to be what I like to call “the generic isekai MC”. You know the one, the character that was a complete bum and a nobody in his previous life but then dies or gets transported to some ridiculous fantasy land where they’re really strong and some how manage to have a harem at the end of the show despite having absolutely 0 character development and/or progression
Hey, I got some recommendations for you, So I'm a Spider so what, Overlord, The Saga of Tanya the Evil But I was discussing this with my sister the other day, these isekais just seem to be copies of each other. The main character is always some loser who was obsessed with videogames or someone who was an office worker and died from being overworked. Like, there are a million different ways to die-why is it always the same thing. Why can't it be something cool like I died while saving a baby from a house fire, or I was stalked and killed by a serial killer. And why are they always video game obsessed losers or office workers, why can't they be like a successful business owner, or a youtuber, or celebrity or literally anything else?
It's not really a hot take to call out generic Isekai protagonists The real hot takes start when authors try to "fix" the main character because audiences will forever debate whether the fix works This is the subversive Isekai, and attempts to add "depth" and "complexity" can create one of the following: - still generic, but with some minor, inconsequential flaw - unlikeable loser who never matures but still winds a beloved hero - edgelord - that guy from college who took philosophy 101 - soapbox high horse - actual psychopath two steps away from being the villain
funny u say that cuz Subaru is the exact opposite. He has this exact mindset when he realises he isekied only to be known as one of the most traumatised mc in any isekai fiction. Which probably explains why it's so popular.
The Worf effect is also a pretty annoying trope when you just want your favorite supporting main character to win a fight or do something cool but they have to take a random L to make the mc look more powerful when getting revenge (Chad, Renji, and toshiro are perfect examples)
At least Renji and Toshiro got redemption though but I see what you mean. Chad was built up originally to be this important character and he’s literally cannon fodder. But Kensei and Rose’s treatment was the absolute worse. They got worfed the hardest in the series imo. Two veteran captains getting absolutely dominated so Renji could have his time to shine, when there were literally 26 sternritter. But then again that’s what happens when you let Kenpachi and Byakuya solo like 4 sterns a piece, there’s not enough to go around. Its a character bloat issue
@JohnGlow2 yea Kubo focused too much on the more popular powerhouse characters that he ended up making other impressive characters act way weaker than they should have, like shinji vs. bambietta
@@RoyalTfrii I actually had a decent idea of how we could have saved the Vizard’s reputation. First I wouldve had Berenice fight Rose. Berenice’s The Question and its ability to inflict self doubt wouldve been great against Rose’s abilities which are also auditory. And since Rose is a musician, chances are that he’s experienced an art block before where he doubted his talent. It wouldve been symbolic for him to struggle with this but eventually overcome it, AND we couldve seen what Prometheus actually did. Kenny didnt really need that W. And I wouldve still had Toshiro beat Cang, but after Cang was revived by Vollstandig, I wouldve had him try to exact revenge on the incapacitated Toshiro, only for Kensei to step in. The Iron vs Iron Fist Tachikaze. We havent had a good hand to hand fight in the series in ages, it’d be perfect. Also, Kensei and Rose winning against two quincies wouldve given them a solid ground to stand on and a LEGIT REASON to be overconfident against Mask. This would make them being taken by surprise way more realistic. And as for Shinji, I wouldve had him use his bankai on Gigi, Zombietta and Zombie Toshiro, save Toshiro’s rep by having him decimate the Quincy girls, and then have Mayuri step in when Toshiro eventually turned his sights back to Shinji. And now we managed to save all three Vizard captains reputations while simultaneously giving Toshiro and Mayuri the respects they deserved.

The prodigy hero is just bullshit plot armor. Like a prodigy can be written well, but having them actually struggle and not just steamroll every fight or at least give them consequences they overlook or just killing people all the time like Kenshin. But a character that just steamrolls people with hundreds of years of experience via pure skill is just stupid. Ichigo *would* be an example of this, but he's the exception because he's a transcendant being who also knew swordsmanship prior to the events of Bleach and was literally MADE to be that op by Aizen just so he could evolve.
@@ellingtonf1097 The craziest thing about this is that certain parts of the fanbase DUNK on Hitsugaya when he’s actually a well written prodigy; he has flaws, and this is why I don’t think comparing him to Gin is fair, because Gin has had 110 years to iron out all his flaws and sharpen his skills, whereas Toshiro was thrown into the fire immediately after becoming a captain. He has one of the most powerful swords in the series, and on paper he has high stats and is incredibly talented, but the kid has NO experience, and is physically, spiritually and mentally immature and grows as the series goes on. He doesnt win every encounter simply because he’s a prodigy since he usually gets edged out by more experienced fighters who are a level or two ahead of him, only for parts of the fanbase to go “ he sucks”. @@brutalnobody5240 I agree, its kinda weird to me. Like it feels like they want the series to be somewhat grounded in realism, so the humans don’t have super powers, but then giving all of the demons some crazy super powers feels like an imbalance of power. One thing I like about tropes is when it is cliche but still pulled off so well to the point I don't care. Yamamoto is a great example of that. Sanji, and One Piece in general, kind of has subtle subversion of tropes while still maintaining them. Sanji is young, suave, handsome, strong, well dressed, sincerely caring of women to the point of a fault, but he is over the top uncontrollably lustfull towards them, something that back in the day was more an old man shtick. Luffy and Zoro are classic straight man and fool mc's but have no rivalry like you'd see in other shounnen. One Piece has a lot of themes of friendship, but its never "the power of friendship" that saves the day. These kinds of subversive shounnen characters and story telling is nothing special now a days, but just 10 years ago+ One Piece was pretty unique for little things like this.
What I find the worst about the black-haired kirito-clone bland mcs is that not even real japanese teenagers are like that. I mean, even they do get some cool haircuts from time to time. That's why when a MC has a different haircut, I immediately like him more. Damn, just give them a bit of personality through their hair, just like they do with the anime girls. We suspect the twintails is girly or tsundere, the hime-cut one is an ojou-tipe whom speaks smoothly or is some creepy mofo, the girl with the short, wavy hair is usually bubbly and the best friend and will never be with the MC because fu ck you reader, the bland girl will get the MC instead. They don't even need some Yu-Go-Oh hair, just give some new cuts for MCs like Geto's or Mikey's or Eren's. Tying their hair behind, or letting it grow over the eye, or make the hair wavier, or give them a fade, show how they don't care about people's expectiations, or are a mess of a character, or are very uptight and by-the-rules, or that they are trying to look tough or whatever... just don't make them bland!
Yes exactly! They have all these girls fawning over them, yet they are basic boys. They have no sort of personality and no unique characteristics that make them stand out.
*Some of the troupes i hate :* _(Mostly due to their over-or-wrong usage)_ #1 Villains talking shit when they can just kill the MC, Even when it doesnt fit their character. (kaido talking bs is understandble cuz thats his character, But most villains just do thag for no reason) #2 MC being special for no reason. Sometimes i feel as if the MC is getting the highlight for no reason, This especially stood out to me in *Black Clover* where Asta is often hyped and awaited by others. #3 *Bringing back old characters just for the sake of it* You see this trope so often in anime, movies and other entertainment mediums, You wont even take notice of this but to explain this in short... Bringing old enemies, rivals, friends, etc without a solid reason just shows the limit of the author character handling. I love seeing old chars coming back again, But atleast give em a strong to be there...
I’d have to agree with the second one. I don’t like it when the mc just gets boosts for no reason or being of a phenomenal lineage. It just gets rid of thrill and makes it spectacle. Not really much of a spectacle person like to make it look nice is one thing but to carry that same weight into how it makes you feel through immersive writing.. that is art.
@@funkychimp2791 I'm not talking about that. Asta is often 'noted' and awaited by important characters. In the latest arc, The Sun country Samurais blatantly make Asta the *Hero of the World* "The fate of the world depends upon you Asta!"
@@jayveeruzforce2322 At this point in the story the hype is warranted, considering his feats. He’s one of, if not the only, person who stands a chance against Lucius.
#2 is a tie between the hero being special for no reason and the hero being treated like absolute dog shit for no reason. Usually by the same characters. Black clover is a perfect example cause most characters that meet Asta start absolutely roasting him for no reason then start giving him insane praise whenever he does something good
Definitely hate the Damsel in Distress characters. Especially if they are pretty capable themselves but they still want to be protected. Ex. Sakura, Orihime.
The craziest thing about this too is that the first arc of shippuden had Sakura literally at the peak of her character imo. She proves herself to be a strong tactical kunoichi with brains and brawn, being skilled in all aspects and capable of standing on her own two feet. If they kept her development steady from that point on she’d easily be one of my favorite characters. But then they did a complete 180 and turned her right back into the whiny little girl clamoring for Sasuke and needing to be saved all the time again. It was a damn shame. She didn’t see this kind of development again until the war arc.
@@gerdanbombales that her charecter development she start of as a charecter that dependent to other ppl then she slowly tries to improve untill the tybw arc where we see her fighting alongside ichigo
@@gerdanbombales I think most people's problem with Orihime is that Bleach's peak time of popularity was during the Arrancar arc when they were trying to save her. And since she is a delicate person, it rubbed people the wrong way about her character. But if you watch her before and after, she is pretty decent. She is basically the war doctor in Ichigo's party, helping and healing. She was never a fighter and helped in other ways. But her reputation got destroyed during the Arrancar arc.
This was an agreement? An agreement to what? What are y’all talking about?? Sanji was petrified on the Sunny since he saw Hancock for the whole rest of Sabaody 2 and Fishmen island arc. Shirahoshi’s cry for help woke him up, by some of his secret ero power logic. What did I miss here…
I agree with everything you said except for "the strongest" for me i like it when a side character is called "the strongest" especially gojo, gojo knows he's the strongest but he hates being at the top being at the top can be lonely because nobody can compete with you and that's why gojo is such a amazing character he's lonely beung at the top that's why he trains people with potential that can not only rival him but surpass, gege made gojo have such an insane and amazing story (even though gege hates gojo) and he's a well written character and of course he's beautiful
One specific thing I really hate is when the girls just somehow smack a dude into the stratosphere They could be in a mildly embarassing situation, not even the dude's fault, purely an accident, hell it could even be the girl's fault the dude STILL gets sent flying, even if the dude is much stronger than the girl I HATE IT with a burning passion
👉I hate side heroine charectors they think they can save MC without any powers and they captured by villain and gives MC more headache........😑😑(I hate these type of tropes)....
how about the fantasy trope of demon lords looking EXCATLY like humans, like out of all the cool possible designs for a really powerful demon which already have a standard of looking cool they the very peak just look EXCATLY like humans, if you're lucky maybe 5% of their body looks non-human but that's it.
@@ellingtonf1097 I mean you don't need to make them ugly just non-human looking, like if they are in crowd of humans, you should be able to EASILY point them out, even if they are wearing a hat. like making their head like a goat, give them backwards bending knees, multiple eyes, make them look like a imp, give them batwings, maybe make them bat people, make them bestial.
@@chongwillson972 That I understand. "Demon" lords like Anos or Wang Ling confuse me because they look like normal humans, at least do something like Benimaru from Slime Tensei.
This is my current issue with Record Of Ragnarock. I LOVE the premise of this series, but every character looks like some crazy chiseled model, when half the gods are supposed to he ugly in lore. I get it, artistic representation. But still, Variation would be nice. I’m not saying having cool characters is a crime, but sometimes its good to have a good mix of the two, something I praise OPM for.
@@JohnGlow2Honestly, when you learn that most fans of RoR in Japan are women (when in Buddha's fight some fans appeared in the audience, most of them were girls) 😂 So that's why there's such model designs, to best fit their main japanese audience's taste (like Beelzebub being a sad emo boy, Buddha being the cool laid-back guy, Poseidon and Hades being the stoic handsome men, Apollo being the narcissistic handsome guy, etc)
Bro that whole Kaguya arc was pretty bad. It had its moments like Obito’s change of heart and Naruto using the reverse harem jutsu to shock Kaguya for an attack, which I thought was pretty funny and in line with Kaguya since she was a concubine. But aside from that, the entire battle is a huge roadblock that halted the pacing of the entire war. Like, after that fight, Naruto and Sasuke have their obligatory final fight, which admittedly was really cool and deep, but the circumstances surrounding it of Sasuke wanting the power of the Tailed Beasts so that he could be Hokage felt shoehorned in. Tl;dr: IF YOU REMOVE THE KAGUYA ARC ENTIRELY, ALMOST NOTHING WILL CHANGE. Its no coincidence that Boruto’s stories being low quality deal with the Otsutsukis
My least favorite trope is definetly the overpowered protagonist. Not only do they take out all the tension from the story, worst of all, they take away any usefulness from the other main characters and side characters, leaving them to be cheerleaders for the OP protagonist, or their efforts are completely overshadowed by the OP protagonist's...
One Punch Man handles this very well in my opinion, saitama is literally the strongest character but the other ones can still shine in their own way and not just be overshadowed by saitama all the time And i also love how OPM makes fun of the "mc comes at the end to save the day" and how king is literally the embodiment of plot armor
@@gackocl1116Because the way they handle Saitama isn’t some cringe and corny mc, they make him act like a normal human being most of the time, and he is so overpowered that he hates it
The generic isekai protagonist design is so bland that they would be a background extra in almost any other genre, but it would be a lot less noticeable if all those animes didn't such similar art-styles. If you had to describr Kirito and Lelouchin text they would have similarities, but because _Code Geass_ and _SAO_ have such different art-styles you would never mistake one from the other, but too many isekai have that almost moe art-style that really makes their protagonist look all the same
My no1 most HATED trope is the "MC builds a harem for literally NO reason" Like, most of the time this guy committed a total of ZERO seconds to getting a girlfriend and somehow "that one bad girl he met across the streets" just so HAPPENS to be the one he ends up with. Even worse when they hit you with the "And she also attends the same class in the same school" trope. At that point, you've basically covered 90% of the anime. The other girls he meets? They're just filler cause hes gonna end up with No1 anyway.
The fishman island is the arc that just haunts Sanji L #1 Almost dying from a forking nose bleed... A FORKING NOSE BLEED now that is just silly and the fact that it was canon was unbelievable L #2 Telling Jimbei to kill himself was just uncalled for
a thing I heard about sanji that wierded me the fuck out was when nami was turned to a kid and his weird ass said "I'll get to watch you develop " bruh man is a problem
That was a whole non-canon movie. Sanji never said anything like this in a canon event. And ppl can bring up Pudding, Shirahoshi, or even Bonney, but arguments can be made as Pudding and Shirahoshi are legal age in Japan and even in some places in America surprisingly, and Bonney never actually revealed her real age and never told anyone that isn't close to her, so a character wanting to be with her really ain't at fault since they honestly don't know
@@Crimson_Beninaru yk what is canon tho, sanji telling jimbei to kill himself because he didnt kill arlong (who he thought of as a brother) because arlong hurt his precious nami. Trust me if it had been any of his male frienda bro would not have cared
@@magentaspree3690 Nah, Sanji would've said something caring nonetheless. He might be a simp, but he's smart and cares for the overall crew nonetheless.
when you said "it can be hard being a sanji fan" that hit my soul, i love sanji bruh, easily in my top 3 favorite characters in one piece, when sanjis not drooling over women, hes such a great character
As someone who has read/watched way too many isekais, I completely agree, every mc has the same face and I cannot recognize any of them unless I literally just finished watching the series. Like use a different hair color or something man
I think History Strongest Disciple Kenichi was on to something with the strongest trope. Miu's grandfather was considered a 'superman' in the martial arts world due to his age wisdom and skill. They didnt use him much but to actually have him fight he had to fight a 'superman' on the villain side.
Funny enough, I was thinking of a creating an isekai-like anime story, and I intentionally made my character’s hair red, only because there aren’t many iconic red-haired battle-shonen protagonists, at least not yet.
But he IS pathetic, and that's the problem. Outside of his "power-up" he's an annoying, loud and obnoxious guy who harass women and contributes pretty much nothing to the story except being the comedic "cowardly funny" character gag. I would argue that whenever he gets stronger when he's unconscious actually makes him a worser character since it shows lazy writing. Zenitsu is pretty much a wasted potential just like the majority of the other characters in the series.
That's why seinen's like berserk, vagabond give us a understanding of the real life struggles we live on a day, instead of just trowing the generic "unrealistic world of magic"
journey to the west is an fantasy world of magic and it still talk about real life things like religion like buddhism and taoism snd it's issue and also talking about human nature like the five main characters represent the human nature like his mind , lust , will and other things and it has so many deep meaning and it in fact made it better than these two mangas very much
1:44 Trust me Japanese laws when it comes to acquiring firearms are pretty strict in general, so no 14 year old is going to be getting a weapon like that especially without serious cash.
The easiest thing that even a guy like Takemichi should've done was tip off the cops in advance before every major event (and look at the winning lottery tickets of year while he's at it)
You thought I wouldn't notice the sentence in the timestamps? "The sound of Gion shoja bells echoes the impermanence of all things the color of Sala flowers reveal the truth that prosperous must decline, However, we are the exception"
I only dislike Sanji at fishman island, otherwise as long as it's not overdone and too creepy I love him for it as he have many other good qualities too that makes up for it and balance it out. Him being pervy can also be very funny when done more tasteful.
My least favourite troupe is the MC's love interest has no personality nor character development. Their purpose of existing is just to be the love interest. The worse subtroupe of this is when a female supporting character who has a good background conflict, has her own goals, has her own aspiration suddenly chosen to be the love interest of the MC. Thus suddenly all of her character development are thrown to the thrash can by the writer for the sake of being 'the MC's love interest'. This is happen so much in shounen manga to the point I give up following any of it. I am looking at you, kishimoto and horikoshi
The subtrope part is so true because they basically just ended up being the MC accessories or just a plot device. Sometimes they even become a damsel in distress character thou just for sake of MC characters development lol.
I just want these mangakas to get some advice from Hayao Miyazaki on how to write a good female character who has personality which is still retained when she falls in love with someone.
As to the 1st troop, I haven't seen that one before. Yeah, some MC that starts weak but works hard to get stronger is pretty common, but I've never seen MC start weak and stay weak. I can seen that getting old fast, though
Idc about the strongest character unless is the mc, bc i dont want to watch a show where there's no danger. Most of the time you get characters like gojo that work as mentor and get sealed. But when the mc is the strongest you feel like the show has ended from the beginning
You can still tell a great story with a overpowered mc . Just look at Mob Psycho 100 . It's imo one of best anime ever made . The protagonist of this show just happens to stronger than the rest of the cast . With good writing op mc ain't a issue .
@@DiegoXRA yeah i love those two, they are exceptions. I was mainly talking about isekais or manwha where the mc is basically like "i kill the devil just because"
@@DiegoXRAI'm actually writing an LN where the MC is a genius with very unique abilities but nothing comes easy for him. In fact, it's pretty much hell for him every with being gifted. He's supposed to be the deconstruction of the "perfect" protagionist because his life even with the money, strength, and power is a nightmare. He's smart, but his enemies are smarter, he's strong, but his enemies are stronger, and his judgment isn't the smartest either with his decisions being either impulsive or sacrificial. He also is conflicted with his status because he's not used to it and no one understands him because they think he's "larger than life" but at the same time he's too traumatized and paranoid to seek help since he's afraid the world hates him for his status and despizes him based on his status when he was born at the lowest points of humanity's history. The reveal of his backstory is supposed to be a trip because it's ultimately a turning point, or a social experiment to see how people would react to it, since it's so overly tragic that almost no one understands the pain, but there are bits that make it feel relatable and echo real life, also the reveal that he isn't the only one who suffered that much too, and that he was among many others that lived the same past breaks him and it's what makes his development complex since he wants to break free from revenge, yet the world keeps pushing him to pursue it.
Probably my least favorite trope is the pervy side character. Like, bro, you just committed sexual assault, but because it's meant to be funny, it's alright.
I feel it was a lot more subtle in the beginning. Like he was more on the chivalrous side than the "hopeless simp"side. Womanizing, yes, but cool and in control. But not to the point where the wasn't any comedy in it. I love Sanji, but Oda's just be extra with him in the latter parts of One Piece. Still, his characterization is peak...
Fr tho, I don’t dislike Takemichi since he’s a rare type of protagonist I hadn’t seen before and I like his determination, but you’d think his determination to save his love interest and friends would lead him to want to learn how to whoop asses, right? It would make him like any other kick-ass shonen hero, sure, but it would just make sense for him to want to learn to take on a threat…
im getting pretty tired of the "strategic genius" trope, when its done well its great (like Ozymandias) but when its not, its bad (like Thrawn). Specifically im getting really tired of hearing how"everything is going according to plan", really, you predicted all the random events (which usually contradict each other with todays writing) and youre plan still consisted of getting your shit pushed in and losing.
Thank you so much for mentioning Takemichi. I had to drop the hell outta that show. Couldn't watch dude get his ass wrecked every episode. Look, leave this lifestyle, and go back to school, T. This life ain't for you.
The trope i hate the most is the: "The MC/ all chara has to lose there power at the end of the story"-trope. I hate it, when a show use superpowers and the characters are training and increasing this powers. Only, to be forced to let go of that power at the end, to reach the goal. Or, to simply lose the power, after the problem is solved. Like, in Power ranger, pretty cure (and i think a lot of other magical girl shows), more or less all Digimon seasons (except S2, but thas is actually ruined with the tri movies and Kizuna -have not seen the newest movie yet-), Magi, Full metal alchemist, and more (i know that happens often, but i dont remember more names of shows yet). It feels allways like betraying from the world, when the charas obtaining power at the start, only, to lose that at the end of the show. And are back to the state, of the start of the show. Where is the reward for the charas of most in that cases? I think, i remember only 2 times, where i was ok with it, when the charas losed the power (like Edward from alchemist, who sacrefice his power, to bring his brother back, what i dislike is, that the movies shows, that he had to travel tio a magicless world after that). Or where i thinked, that it would be a fitting end of the story from a chara (someone who has suffered mostly, because of his power, and who should have losed it at the end, i only forgot, what chara and show that was).
I have a few actually. I’m commenting before I watch so if you’ve covered this already i’m sorry. First: The 1000 year old loli. We all know why loli is popular and we know who it appeals to, and we also know that the only way it’d be acceptable is if they give it some absurd age. Its time to stop acting like we don’t know why its still around. There is unfortunately a target market. Second: The wimpy male character with no backbone, and the female character who throws aside all her character development just to be a love interest/ get married/ have kids/ be the object of fanservice. I will always praise FMA for having a cast of likeable male and female characters who all have their own goals and ambitions and accolades. And lastly: The pervy old man or woman who’s only comedy schtick is groping. Groping has never been funny and Idk why it gets treated as such.
You got half of the ones in this video. The loli one is also extremely weird, but I think there are a lot of cultural differences between Japan and America
In DBS when Master Roshi overcame his weakness of women i fucking jumped and got so excited, and then he showed his weakness is truly gone in the T.O.P and it was the one of the most coolest thing for me in the entire saga.
That black haired mc trope is like the thorn stuck in my foot for almost 2 decades and finally i see someone addressing that. U da GOAT for that reason bro
You know what's a trope I hate? Villains that have so sort of acclaim, either it being strong, smart, dangerous, etc. and then the MC wipes the floor with them instantly. It's like the world has some sort of lore or background with misc characters, only for it to be instantly discarded by an MC with OP abilities. It just makes the world feel smaller, especially if it's earlier in the story.
I hate the really casual pacifist characters that go from a normal life style.. to a completely chaotic one a day later and just accept every traumatic event that happens like it's normal/a walk in the park.. like they didn't just have their entire school possesed by a bunch of demons lmao
Tbh he might have calmed down on the perviness had it not been for Pudding taking away his memory from that kiss. I don’t think he would’ve voluntarily made a move that’s make the first woman who kiss him and was his « bride » for the day, sad or hurt. He’s a huge simp but I think if he’d remember how Pudding loves him, he would chill the frick up. Btw ppl like to say Sanji is too old for Pudding, ppl fail to mention that Kyros and Scarlett got a few years larger age gap and Kyros was starting to have feelings for her when she was around 16, no one ever mention this, as if they’re not shocked more about this than Sanji and Pudding, which I don’t think Puddings age was even mentioned in the anime (not sure about manga) but Kyros and Scarlett ages did. I was a lil more shocked about Kyros and Scarlett than Sanji and Pudding ever did, idk man.
Fair points on all these. Although I completely agree with your take on Takemitchy, I kept watching for Mikey. & As a woman, the perv trope will always be unnecessary. I can’t believe they did my man Sanji like that in FMI.
The worst trope I’ve seen is when the mc forgives their abuser and that same abuser becomes the best friend. I normally hate it cause the abuse is forgotten or downplayed like it never happened. I see this with Naruto and sasuke. Sasuke being a straight asshole but yet shikamaru and togi come in to Naruto aid. Why are they not Naruto best friend. Deku being straight harassed by bakgou for petty reasons. Idc if he changes for the better, why deku has to be his best friend when he got ida or fuck anyone else. Enemies don’t have to become friends.
What are some other character tropes that you find annoying? Comment down below.

I honest to goodness have no idea how Orochimaru got off SCOTT FREE. This man commited mass genocide, human experimentation on adults and children, killed two world leaders, and tried to destroy the biggest village in the world.
@@ellingtonf1097 Yeah for manipulation it makes sense, but in the FKT?

It's because of cringe viewers who want to imagine being the mc.

From what I've seen from the Fire Force anime, they handle Benimaru pretty well. Absurdly strong, but hasn't been shelved(from what I know).
@@olamasama9243 What do you think about Johan Liebert?
I got 3 tropes i hate so much:
1. When the MC gets his own heram But genuinely acts Nervous around them, And often runs away from them.
2 when a character has a girl that has feelings for him, but he Doesn't notice them, Or doesn't pick up the Obvious signs that they have feelings for him
3. When a character Doesn't use there strongest moves In the start of the fight, They have to take their time before using the strongest move.
The first one is legit
Second one is legit
The third one can be done right, like if the enemy might adapt or tank it and then their strongest move is basically useless, so they wait for the right opening to land it, or it's a limited use/high consumption move that can't be thrown out carelessly or it's too destructive. Example is Excaliblast, shit would level islands at full power but Saber can't just yeet one out because she would pretty much kill everyone.
Your number 1 trope is a normal reaction.
@@yourdeletedcomment what are you talking about
About the third one, that's a different case for character like Saitama
Edit: Or in scenario where honor matters... Sometimes
The second one is literally me and a lot of people in real life, sadly. But you're right that it ain't fun to see on TV though

Like, a girl literally asks you out on a date, how stupid And dense do you have to be to fumble the bag???? And when he starts doing his whole rants I manage to predict it immediately that's i just skip most of the scene. Like, a villain told him science couldn't save her little brother so she hates it. Pointless fanservice is annoying because of two things:

Mainly just plot. Plot is the biggest bleach villain.

I think he lost in the tybw because he was arrogant. He thought no one could control his bankai hence they couldn't steal it.

Hey, I got some recommendations for you, So I'm a Spider so what, Overlord, The Saga of Tanya the Evil
But I was discussing this with my sister the other day, these isekais just seem to be copies of each other.
It's not really a hot take to call out generic Isekai protagonists
The real hot takes start when authors try to "fix" the main character because audiences will forever debate whether the fix works
This is the subversive Isekai, and attempts to add "depth" and "complexity" can create one of the following:
- still generic, but with some minor, inconsequential flaw
- unlikeable loser who never matures but still winds a beloved hero
- edgelord
- that guy from college who took philosophy 101
- soapbox high horse
- actual psychopath two steps away from being the villain
@@soxnsandalsssi m a spider is trash

yes I hate that shit, they try to make overpowered characters, while they can't even write average ones well 😂
The Worf effect is also a pretty annoying trope when you just want your favorite supporting main character to win a fight or do something cool but they have to take a random L to make the mc look more powerful when getting revenge (Chad, Renji, and toshiro are perfect examples)
*Some of the troupes i hate :* _(Mostly due to their over-or-wrong usage)_
#1 Villains talking shit when they can just kill the MC, Even when it doesnt fit their character. (kaido talking bs is understandble cuz thats his character, But most villains just do thag for no reason)
#2 MC being special for no reason.
Asta didn’t get his grimoire for “no reason”
I’d have to agree with the second one. I don’t like it when the mc just gets boosts for no reason or being of a phenomenal lineage. It just gets rid of thrill and makes it spectacle. Not really much of a spectacle person like to make it look nice is one thing but to carry that same weight into how it makes you feel through immersive writing.. that is art.
@@funkychimp2791
I'm not talking about that.

I thought we all agreed Sanji was never on Fishman Island.
Oh yea you right, I think he was still training from the timeskip
One specific thing I really hate is when the girls just somehow smack a dude into the stratosphere
They could be in a mildly embarassing situation, not even the dude's fault, purely an accident, hell it could even be the girl's fault the dude STILL gets sent flying, even if the dude is much stronger than the girl
I HATE IT with a burning passion

how about the fantasy trope of demon lords looking EXCATLY like humans, like out of all the cool possible designs for a really powerful demon which already have a standard of looking cool they the very peak just look EXCATLY like humans, if you're lucky maybe 5% of their body looks non-human but that's it.

like if they are in crowd of humans, you should be able to EASILY point them out, even if they are wearing a hat.

Madara getting sneaked by black zetsu after everything he did hurt my soul

One Punch Man handles this very well in my opinion, saitama is literally the strongest character but the other ones can still shine in their own way and not just be overshadowed by saitama all the time
And i also love how OPM makes fun of the "mc comes at the end to save the day" and how king is literally the embodiment of plot armor

Even worse when they hit you with the "And she also attends the same class in the same school" trope. At that point, you've basically covered 90% of the anime. The other girls he meets? They're just filler cause hes gonna end up with No1 anyway.
And then despite being a harem, bro keeps calling them “best friends” and has no idea what any flirty advances mean

Bruh it's a filler movie. Stop hating a character for something he didn't even do.

I am looking at you, kishimoto and horikoshi
hinata *cough* *cough*
fucking uraraka ugh !!
The subtrope part is so true because they basically just ended up being the MC accessories or just a plot device. Sometimes they even become a damsel in distress character thou just for sake of MC characters development lol.
I mean at that point you just hate bad writing
I just want these mangakas to get some advice from Hayao Miyazaki on how to write a good female character who has personality which is still retained when she falls in love with someone.
As to the 1st troop, I haven't seen that one before. Yeah, some MC that starts weak but works hard to get stronger is pretty common, but I've never seen MC start weak and stay weak. I can seen that getting old fast, though
One trope I really hate is when the good guys are losing and then out of nowhere, for no reason they get a power boost and they destroy the villian.
One Punch Man is an exception, because Saitama being the strongest is the problem itself

The trope i hate the most is the:
"The MC/ all chara has to lose there power at the end of the story"-trope.

The "this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy" had me laughing for minutes.

Sanji was obligate to change is behaviors toward girl after Wole cake island but no, he made him THE SAME
Tbh he might have calmed down on the perviness had it not been for Pudding taking away his memory from that kiss.
