This remake enhances and messes up several things from the original. However if there’s one thing they got right, was the Wendigos. They look terrifying in the remake
Yes, The wendigos look even more messed up, but I don't like too much the new screams and screeches, but the atmosphere is so bad, it's supposed to be foggy and icy, not that dark like a slaughter house.
@@nomado.3855yeah men, the old screams were iconic, don't know who had the idea to change them but that was for me the biggest mistake in the new edition 😢
I disagree. The wendigos were ruined, made to look dark and glossy, so much so you can barely see them move, which is the entire part about them which is uncanny, how fast and strong they are relative to their bony structure. Look at all of these shots of Hanna and you will see here movement are not very clear, whereas in the original they are incredibly crisp. There are lots of other scenes in the game where you see her climbing along a wall or something, but now you can barely see her movements because of the lighting and dark glossy skin.
Yeah. In my opinion just watching that there are enhanced details on some things. But in a lot of other ways it seems like they just made it a lot darker to hide things in shadow.
The sound of the Wendigo scream in the original is better in my opinion, the way it shakes the screen is also a pretty cool detail that I think should of been kept in
Sometimes it seems like more realistic lighting and shadows almost makes alot of these remakes look worse than the original super dark and foggy atmosphere. Everything becomes too sharp and clear but at the same time seems to make characters and their outfits too dark and unrecognizable. Which makes complete sense in the dark but almost takes away from the design that went into the characters a bit 🤣

The Wendigo sounds better in the original. But if I'm honest, I think both the original and the remake Wendigo sounds mixed together horrifyingly good.
There are only 3 things I didn’t like in the remake but I still want to buy the game again. 1. The isolation chapter where they were doing the Ouji board and one of the ghost of the sisters popped up didn’t have that sound effect. 2. The Camera angles in the cutscenes. 3. @@whatispongebubdoin The reason why it’s so blurry with this game in particular is because if it’s a “remake” as you say, it’s the worst possible version of what a remake is supposed to be. It’s literally just the original game, copy/pasted to a “new engine”, with some added content and changes, and not always good changes. As you said a remaster and remake should be clear cut, but this is just another lazy cash grab from a big company and it gives remakes a bad name. To me it’s a glorified remaster, or something that falls in between remaster and remake. I refuse to acknowledge this as a full on remake.
Remake really improve the graphic but i prefer the OG sound design as it more intense and fit in the situation more than remake
Original is much better in lighting & visuals just putting it out there
Instead of making remakes of games that no one asks for, you should listen to the community. Sequels to games like "The Order 1866" or "Days Gone" would be more desirable.
I actually liked how lighted up everything was. Making dark was unnesecarry
I stay with the original - thank you Supermassive!
Textures and expressions are great, but they messed up the lightning style that was so unique in the old one, the lens flares, the bloom, the lights in the remake are just too dull
fire is actual fire... damn
What if we had another game instead of remastered? That would be cool
They had a few other games... well I think I'll take an until dawn remake instead of a new ip. Maybe an until dawn sequel would have been better, but that's coming now supposedly
Its remaster, not remake.
Why it's so dark? Are they alergic to use lighting? Like chill guys, it's not real life event. Use the proper lighting
Tbh remake will make u more traumatized but original isn’t
This is just remasterred for me, no as a remake
The natural darkness in new games just makes it harder to see lol. Better to look at, i guess? Depends on who you ask
This "remaster" has to be one of the biggest disappointments of a game Ive ever seen. Everything from the music, the lighting, the dont move mechanics, even the wendigos scream being changed, too many things to list... They managed to ruin almost every aspect of the original somehow. Was so pumped for this one too
Bro they made Mike hold Sam’s hand in the remake not that I’m complaining but still… 4:25
I feel like this isnt a remake at all, its just like a remaster. Doesnt need one
"...Unlike a remake which often changes the now-dated gameplay, a remaster is very faithful to the original in that aspect (in order to appeal to that nostalgic audience) while permitting only a limited number of gameplay tweaks for the sake of convenience." that's literally the first thing that pops up when you google the difference between a remake and a remaster
"What does it mean when a game is remastered? The Video Game Remaster - Old Games Get a New Look. A video game remaster is a lesser undertaking than a remake - it uses largely the same game code but greatly enhances the visuals by adding various graphical effects, and increasing resolution and performance by taking advantage of modern hardware." this is the second. Remaster is mostly just graphical, it uses the same assets. Remake is a new game built up from the ground and it makes more changes, maybe even adds new content and gameplay elements.
Which one is the remake?
You can just look at the thumbnail of the video and tell the remaster looks better on the right 😂 lightings faces everything…
only one problem, heavily contrasted in the remake
PS4 house explosion sound effect was better than ps5
This ☝️
A real shame the first game they made was the best, they could never capture the acting, setting or feel with ANY of their other games
Is this remake or remastered?
it is a remastered for the PS5 and PC
@@ezray2256 yeah i knew that i was just wondering that why they call it remake while it's just only a remastered?
@@mirakind9132 i don't know why either
i have this game on PS4 and nothing is changed besides high graphic improvement like texture & lighting & sfx
new camera angles
and additional storytelling in the prologue which i have heard...
🤔i think it's more of a marketing strategy
when you hear (remake) most people think it is a new game but it's not
@@ezray2256 Remaster is when a game uses the same engine, same assets but it builds upon them, like it's mostly just graphical. A remake is when they basically make a new game from the ground up with a new engine, it's more common that there's added content and gameplay elements. This is a remake by that defintion and I think it's accurate, I mean I always thought that this is what it meant
@@whatispongebubdoin everything in this game is the same as the ps4 version, all they did is improve the graphics and add in a little extra content, that's it!
just like
Tomb Raider I 1996 / Tomb Raider II 1997 / Tomb Raider III 1998 & (Tomb Raider I-III Remastered) is the same
(this have a new team with new engine & graphics)
so why it's not called a remake because it's the same as the original
unlike Tomb Raider: Anniversary, this is remake to the first game because it's different
You guys complain about anything. If you go to settings you could adjust the lighting of the fucking game. It’s LITERALLY the same thing as before just better graphics 💀like omg.
It's always easier to just leave a comment.
I don't really get the protest, I think it's because it's too expensive. But just say that then
i don´t get it... why people are buying this.... if i want to watch a movie... i don´t have to pay 70-80 bucks
is it me or is the remake more scary
It def is, but it's too expensive (which it is I agree) so people are coping
リメイクする必要ないぐらい昔のもきれいなんだが
В ремейке стало слишком темно. А так очень даже не плохо получилось
if the story doesn't change at all, the better resolution is important...?
THIS IS MORE LIKE A REMASTER THAN A REMAKE
This remake is like RE4 Remake. Unnecessary but kinda glad it happened?
RE4 Remake adds a lot of new aspects and content. This feels more like a Remaster.
@@theyouth2000 it is a remastered...nothing have change beside the lighting, camera angle, sfx
Why is it so dark
That's how it actually looks when it's night time
@@whatispongebubdoin it's a game
@@kluski3423 yeah
I really don't understand why this game is still want to remake .Besides, I find the old ones more horrible, and the new ones (remake)seem redundant. Besides, this game only a few years and now remake again and I can’t see any big changes of this game.😢
Finally the left the glow
this is low vs ultra settings, not first vs remaster. this is a cheating video
The artistic style that characterized these Sony games has been completely lost, look at the Tlou remake, it was exactly the same, soulless.
The until dawn "remake" needs a remake.
Is the don’t move feature in the remake?
Yes. You can turn it off though if you're a coward
I'll be honest. The remake looks like crap. The only things that look good are the wendigos and the faces of the characters. Even if I could barely see it since it was so dark, and the wendigo shriek sounds like warthog in agony
Не знаю где ремейк, но слева картинка лучше. Справа просто темнота.
it didnt need a remake
I really enjoyed the remake 🤷
Original 2015 the best !
Why remake is so dark !?
Neat Sony spent money to have a studio "Remake" (its more or less a remaster) this and not Bloodborne or make Bloodborne II. Joy...
The colorgrading is a bit annoying
"Remake" then sell in full price
