The origin of Banshu-miki-uchi-hamono can go back to the Warring States period (1482-1573). Smithery in this region was developed by the joint effort of carpenters and blacksmiths. Mostly carpentry tools and knives are produced by utilizing traditional techniques. Banshu-miki-uchi-hamono is renowned for its high quality.
