This was Korn at their most brutal and aggressive. This whole album is insane. This particular breakdown in Good God makes me feel like I'm locked inside some mental institution with some crazy ass murderer completely losing it. Check out Freak On A Leash too, if you haven't already. That's from the album that came after this one, and they stepped up the crazy ape tribe vibe even more. That breakdown is probably the best breakdown in the history of music. I still get a stiff neck from all the headbanging, even two decades later.

In my opinion, Korn went kinda boring for a few albums. I didn't really dig the albums with Head gone from the band. The only two tracks I really digged during that period were Politics and Eaten Up Inside (which was a B-side). Nah. The first five albums are great, but they were at their absolute best with the second and third albums - Life Is Peachy and Follow The Leader.

I really miss their old sound. Those first two albums were amazing and I feel like Life is Peachy is really more of a continuation of their first album imo. I have a fondness for Follow the Leader and Issues as well but I'm just not a fan of Untouchables although I think there's a few good songs on it. Pretty much everything that follows Untouchables has some good songs but for me they don't touch those first two albums or even the first four. I feel like they found a sound on Untouchables that they became comfortable with and just haven't really progressed away from it and a lot of their song structures following Untouchables are basically the same. I still like Korn but they aren't my favorite band like they used to be. I've been listening to them literally since 94. Check out a really good song they did for the movie The Crow called Sean Olsen. Imo thats the quintessential Korn sound that is severely lacking imo.
