Great video thanks hi from Ireland we have four of these and love them fast reliable and incredibly robust these machines are running between 4 to10 hours 5 days per week our advice is to run RPM at 600 which gives the best finish
@FC7: Thanks for the feedback. I am planning to buy a single head machine and I am totally new to all this. I have listened about Ricoma and Melco. Do you think that Tajima is better than Ricoma and Melco? Thanks :)
The Tajima SAI is a workhouse!. It is excellent at doing extremely small letters and using all types of threads. I have owned it for 2+ years and have never had to adjust the tension when using 30, 40, 60, 75 weight thread or wooly/metallic threads. I've only changed the needle size. The caps come out beautiful. I like that the bobbin case is covered. I do miss some of the alignment features and the needle threader that is on my flat bed Brother. I wish the hoop size was larger but am happy that the hoop goes in either way. I do wish that you could rotate the position of the design in smaller degrees. I like the fact that the bobbin case is covered and that it uses all types of pre-wounded bobbins. The crosshair laser works well in positioning my designs. I use Mighty Hoops and wish they would make a larger size for the machine. The instruction manual and video could be improved and I think the fonts are the best part of the software. I use Hatch 3. I have run this machine for 10 - 12 hours at a time with no issues. Well worth the price.

Great unbiased review madame. I'm looking into getting a solid, compact machine to add unto my embroidery hustle. I have a Ricoma TC1501 which does the job. I just need another to help with speeding up hat production. I wish you were able to do a hat example. You mentioned hat prameters at 67mm on the y axis. That was the winning comment for me. This machine has the soul of an industrial Tajima machine, is small and cheap compared to the industrial single head, we don’t mess around too much in the machine when you are running a small business, you have a person making files and one working on the machine which has to be quick loading and unloading stuff and doesn’t necessarily have the skills to mess with the files. Then Tajima quality… the best in the world…
I have two 6 heads, one 4 heads, and two industrial single heads (one with 500 by 1200 mm big hoop)
I know this is about the Machines but I have to say, this lady is Gorgeous!! That aside, am new to embroidery and thinking of getting the ricoma.

Hi! There aren't very many videos on this machine so thank you so much for this review. Do you find that it is hard to set the thread tensions on this machine? Can you share what you did or how you set up yours?
Hi! Thank you for your comment. The machine was only given to me a loan to review and now I have returned it. From memory setting the tensions on the machine wasn’t difficult. Start by running a tension test to see where your thread tensions are currently at, you can then either slacken them off completely and start from the beginning or make small adjustments
Hi.. do you know anything about Melco.. its suppose to be a very good machine, at least compared to Brother and Babylock (same as Brother).. also the Melco is an industrial machine.. do you know how much a new Melco EMT16 costs.. ? also how much a used Melco that has maybe 10 years on it cost ? Hi, thank you for your comment. The short answer is I have no idea. I've never used a Melco machine. I know it's user interface is similar to the Tajima Sai wherein you do all of the set up and editing on a laptop and transfer it to the machine. I'm not sure what the price on Melcos is and if you are looking at purchasing an older machine that has likely had a lot of use make sure you can still get replacement parts of the model you're buying
Hi, another great video, your house must be getting full with all your machines! Do you find that you get much vibration on the floor when you have them upstairs? Have you ever used or reviewed an Acetex machine? With regards to stitch quality what is the best way to compare all the different makes or is it the embroidery file and how well it is digitalised that is the answer? Thanks
Hi! Yes it’s true I have completely run out of space, I think a move or an extension maybe in my future. Yes there is a fair bit of vibration I counter this by running the machines at slower speeds (700spm) I have carpeted my work room with a really thick carpet and underlay and also would recommend placing a bit of foam/insulation under the machine feet to suppress the vibration as much as possible. I have never heard of Acetex, it looks like some rebranded Chinese machine there’s a bunch of them on eBay, I’d be wary, it’s not just about buying the machine it’s about the support and service that comes after. About stitch quality, on the machines I’ve used so far all machines are capable of nice quality stitching it all comes down to thread tension, changing needles regularly, what stabiliser you are using and as you said how well the file is digitised. Buy a design that you know will stitch well and run it off on the machine and use that same design on any future machines you encounter to compare.

Thanks for the video's. I have been watching a few now and comparing the tajima to the brother (10 needle) which one would you prefer? For information, I don't make badges, just bags (or the occasional socks)

How does the stitch quality compare between these machines? Did I miss that or was it not noticeably different? Also what is the cylinder arm measurement on the Sai please?
The SAI cylinder is 1.5" wide and 1.75" tall. Sharper stitches then my single needle Brother.

I absolutely love it, I’ve been using Happy Japan for about 6 years now, both my machines were second hand when I bought them and they are still going strong, absolute workhorses 💕

Get the Tajima Sai. It will outperform the Brother PR1005X in terms of speed, quality, and money making.
