- In this adventure, we discover the new backpacking and camping gear I'll be using for the year of 2024. Please keep in mind that gear is subjective in many ways. you don't need much to get out and enjoy the trails.
the soto mountain pie maker is exclusive to the Japanese market, sometimes you can find on eBay or order from japan (in my experience this is one of the best countries to order from often times you will get your items the same week you order)

Looks like some pretty cool stuff * I'll be getting back out into the woods and making more outdoors videos soon
I have tons of fun making them!!! I hope you get out soon!
@@stonedapeadventures I hear that, me too and yes indeed
I use that Silky Saw. I keep it in the plastic so nothing snags on it. But it’s a very decent piece of kit. The design of the blade teeth that Silky uses really helps make sawing simple
I've enjoyed it so far, where it lives on my pack I don't have to worry about snags.
@@stonedapeadventures maybe I’ll just have to find a good spot to put mine so I can ditch it’s case too lol
@loyaltyisroyalty5616 I just weighed the case. lol, it's 4.6 oz. so that's a pretty decent amount.
@@stonedapeadventures löl say no more… it’s already gone. Thanks friend
that’s funny i just bought a mountain pie maker as well. it’s nothing ultra light but it will do. i gotta get one of those thermometers.
I miss them. I can't wait for some pizzas and apple pies....any thermometer will do, it's nice to know, especially in colder temps.
Dig that mountain pie maker….
✌️
fun stuff, man!
You are looking beautiful amazing beautiful views great fantastic video thanks for sharing my dear new friend done you stay connected ❤
UL Mountain Pie Maker - LOL, I picked up a lightweight cast iron griddle. It's just under 8oz lighter than my other 6" cast iron pan.
I miss cooking on trail, I'm definitely doing more of it this coming year
I love my Silky!! Food bag looks pretty awesome too, bud!
yeah it was time to quit carrying that folding bow saw (I still think it's better tool for the job just too bulky). I do love having the food bag.
This could be an ACME commercial I thought you might pull a tent or hammock out of that bag.
lol, now you'll have me looking for an ultralight anvil
I love your new cooking gear. In cold temperatures I enjoy campfire cooking.
Silky saws are the best.
Good choices my friend 👍🏻👍🏻
can't wait to make some pies !!
@@stonedapeadventures oh yea!!!
what matters is how much battery the bluetooth burns up, on your phone. some peripherals rly murder phone battery versus others.
bluetooth will be turned off most of the time. but I'll definitely pay attention to see if one is harsher than the next.
Great gear review. I'm curious to see how the Kestrel drop, works out.
that's the only one i have been using atm, it's the only one that is calibrated. I'm curious to see the accuracy of the others. also look foward ro comparing the apps with each one.
Hope those gators work out!! Ive got a heavier version and was surprised how much i like them/how well theyve worked!
I used them twice, and I got them for the snow. I wear shoes and they have been perfect so far.
Dud you will love that new silky saw I got one last year and it was amazing how much more wood I could process
I've just used it a few times, and I like it so far. I'm curious as how long the blade lasts.
I never heard of a "mountain pie" but that sure did look like a hobo pie maker
lol, I bet it's a regional thing
Cool stuff. That sandwich maker looks awesome. I miss the little George Foreman grill.
I'm a sucker for nostalgic gear lol I can't wait to eat some apple pie in the middle of the woods.
It's not like that it is pronounced Lewd-et-ease, but rather the Lud-eye-ts. I think that it's a religious organization, but I could be wrong. Maybe they get their gear name from something local. Interesting name though.
it's a very small cottage company that caters to the ice climbing and bike packing world....very punk rock
I could be completely wrong on the pronunciation, but I think that I was just trying to say that it might be connected to the religious group somehow. Don't even know how that group is really pronounced.@@stonedapeadventures
So over it with these people who think they can police up everything someone types or says. What matters was the message, and that was clear to me. 😃
police? You're the one bringing bad energy and judgment. I was just commenting about how I thought it was luddite like the religion, but then I added that I guess I don't know how the religion is pronounced. Text is kind of easy to misinterpret sometime. @@pattikelly8921
Seeing a car drive-by behind him and the products that he is going to test or use.......this is not camping gear I would suggest unless your a Stoned Monkey!
