Amazing meeting you and chatting, Dave! Wish we could have talked more in the morning but I ended up running down to my car at Laurel Draft to grab my microspikes, then drove all the way to Medix Run Rd, parked my car and hiked/ran the 18 miles along the Quehanna Trail to Alex Run. Alex Run was absolutely beautiful, another great campsite. They're plentiful in the Quehanna Wild Area! It was funny watching your video and seeing you follow my footsteps into the campsite. It was also funny knowing you were making your video only a few hundred yards from my camp. Apologies for not inviting you to share the campsite. I was definitely not expecting to see anyone else camped at that spot (I only saw one hiker the entire day and only his footprints for less than a mile) so needless to say, I was surprised when you said hi while I was making dinner. Great video! Can't wait to watch the rest. P.S. I had some serious down puffy envy when I saw your Feathered Friends jacket. Great piece of gear! I was indeed starting to get a bit chilled but I could have hung for hours talking. Be bold and start cold for sure!

very kool to have met you. i was surprised to see someone out!! my original plan was to camp at Alex run, but the road looked to sketch for my car. I've only seen that section in the dark, and I'm really trying to get back. I thought temps were going to be a bit colder there. I have about 20 more unique miles there to finish the system and have about 60 left to video. I hope you crush your next FKT. I'd imagine the quehanna is a good place to train kinda endless miles there. was such a great weekend to have been out!

I understand, not an ideal spot for winter camping, but I would choose that location too.
Traditional - stuff from the 90's? I packed for an outing last weekend and used a trapper basket and a military surplus duffel for a pack because I wanted to bring extra stuff. (I ended up staying in my vehicle because of the windchill - I was prepared for single digits, but with the wind it was well below zero) The air was so bad that I didn't attempt to camp and just stayed in my jeep.

    • @stonedapeadventures
