Oh nice! Saw a classic 'Doctor Who' image on my recommended, which isn't too irregular, but then I spotted the uploader.. 'Kane B'. This is a nice Christmas surprise from you :)
You mentioned the sound design in Inferno!!!! I completely agree. I've thought that for years but never heard it mentioned. It also goes as far as the noise the Primords make. It renders them a lot more fearsome than they otherwise look. That said, every time I sit down to watch a little more of this video, I glance down at Seeds of Doom in the Terrible category and I have to go off and have a shower. EDIT: And then I came to Warriors Gate, which ties with The Leisure Hive for my 2 least favourite stories in all of classic Who. Ouch. However the way you feel about Warriors Gate is how I feel about Ghost Light.
@@KaneB hmm, classics only? 1. Spearhead from Space 2. The Tenth Planet 3. Earthshock 4. Revenge of the Daleks 5. Remembrance of the Daleks That's just off the top of my head though. I'm going through them again right now and things might change. Seeds of doom is objectively top ten though ;)
I won't feel bad. This was made literally just for me. I was going to make the tier list for fun in private, then I thought, "why not record this?" So that's how the video happened.
@@hrsmp If you don't care, don't click it. Most people figure that one out by the age of, what, 3 years old at the latest? I guess for some folks it takes a little longer.
Definitely my favourite Doctor Who plots included scenes such as other worldly tropical jungles where carnivorous plants were highly evolved predators that then by, I believe, crossing over into this modernity-with its platitudes of one's well kept garden- challenged the world political system through covert infiltration into citizens gardens and surprising random occupants at prime time television where one or another politician advocated for development of pristine forest into a megapolis, I believe.
I stopped watching at the end of the Tom Baker run. Anything in particular worth watching after that? I did see that weeping angels storyline on the big screen at a con and it was outstanding.
Regarding the classic series, the general consensus is that the show is very wobbly for the next few years, but then kicks into gear again with Remembrance of the Daleks. With the exception of Silver Nemesis and maybe Battlefield, all the stories from the last two McCoy seasons are highly regarded. So maybe it would be worth checking those out. Some well-regarded stories from the Davison era: Kinda, Earthshock, Snakedance, Mawdryn Undead, Enlightenment, and The Caves of Androzani. I don't think there are any unambiguous classics from the Colin Baker era, but Vengeance on Varos is generally well appreciated. As for modern Who -- Eccleston: Dalek, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances Tennant: The Girl in the Fireplace, Human Nature/Family of Blood, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, Midnight Smith: The Eleventh Hour, Vincent and the Doctor, A Christmas Carol, The Doctor's Wife, The Day of the Doctor Capaldi: Listen, Mummy on the Orient Express, Face the Raven/Heaven Sent/Hell Bent, Oxygen, World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls Whittaker: Demons of the Punjab, It Takes You Away, Spyfall To be clear, I'm just reporting my understanding of the common opinion here, not my own judgments of these eras.

This really was an S tier video. Christmas fun all round.
Nice to hear you enjoyed it!

Your placing of the Seeds of Doom is criminal! Can't believe a fellow philosopher would do that episode so dirty!

Great suprise! Didnt expect it but a very welcome one
Yes indulgent. Yes charming. I love someone geeking out. Please don't feel bad if I don't watch all four + hours.

Thank you doctor for this amazing video!
Great video, I wish you’d do more who content now and then even tho it doesn’t fit your channel. You obviously have the passion.
Wow, this is the best crossover ever!
Dr. Who and Dr. Baker fans are in heaven lol

I'm a big fan of the jungle planets too. That's why I always loved "Planet of the Daleks"
@@KaneB I do appreciate being given the series name. It would be fun to immerse in the atmospherics again.
very unexpected :)

classic doctor who is the best who
It's the one that I grew up with, which makes it special to me. Modern Doctor Who will never tickle the nostalgia bone in the same way.
A true legend
What about the episode with the Kzinti? When they fight the romulans
I don't think I've seen that one. I love TNG and Deep Space Nine, but not enough to do a tier list of every episode of them
