Great Musician; to go from "A Town like Malice" from "The Jam" to "My Ever Changing Moods" shows a range of talent that is unmatched by most songwriters and performers alike. !
The past is our knowledge, the present our mistake And the future we always leave too late I wish we'd come to our senses and see there is no truth, oh In those who promote the confusion for this ever changing mood, yeah As relevant a lyric now as it was almost 40 years ago. Simply brillant.
@@andysmith8890 who sings the harmony? I heard this ONCE on a new wave station in the 80s, years, decades later- this is better than most- and kills "modern radio" oh there's great music, underground these days....but this is almost "forgotten pop" and I'm still discovering the great music of Paul Weller!
I can assure you it was just as mellow dramatic in the sun drenched blindness of San Dimas running cross country as the world turned fluorescent, fuchsia, lime green in dolphin shorts which was way better than black spandex, either way a boner would pop up only when one doesn't need one....forever my moods been a chang'n.
The lyrics and the composition of this song is simply masterful !!!! This song really makes you think and reflect on your own life for sure.you guys forever rock❤️❤️❤️
I agree, it is simply masterful! I loved this song when it was first released and have recently being playing it on repeat. I came to TH-cam to figure out the lyrics and wow, it is so prophetic for the current situation. "I wish we'd wake up one day and everyone feel moved" God damn it, we really had it all. If only we worked together for the benefit of humanity and our planet.
My favourite song of TSC...Uplifting music & lyrics that meant something of world around at the time ...And still have meaning for today...Under rated band. So much talent...x
Man, thanks for the words...If I had provided my words, the Style Council would have written an entirely different song; there is no truth for those who promote the confusion, for my ever changing words? Great song, love it, and I would concur that this is a masterpiece in every musical sense-wording, singing, orchestration, melody, tune and message!
The jam style council Paul Weller the ultimate package so fucking cool meaningful and prophetic lyrics only a few bands never fail to inspire Bob Marley and the wailers pixies stranglers the stones velvet underground the doors thank you
Indeed... Dee C. Lee it is a group member Style Council..... Born in Balham, London, formerly a backing singer for the group WHAM... Married to Paul Weller for 11 years [1987 -1998], which union produced 2 children..... She is also a solo singer in her own right....
Great music sounds great in any decade.

To paraphrase, this bloke could sing the bloody phonebook and give it something special.

One of the best songs of the 80's.
Can’t believe it’s that old. Always seems more recent to me having seen The Jam twice

One of my favorite 80’s bands !
MASTERPIECE!
For me,
the most important artist since Bowie.
Beautiful, almost bosanova rhythm. Yet the lyrics are quite sobering. Absolute masterpiece.
Bossa Nova.....
@@tunefultonyjohnson4100 very important to pick Brad up on that. Well done.👊
