Great vid I really enjoy the content. Been driving Mazdas for many years and love them on my second CX 5 with 2.2D never any issues. I do long journeys and service on time. Current one is 2019 has 95k kms 65k is my driving. I never knew there was issues with them until recently. Do oil flush’s help as I would like to keep this long term
Ending up buying the yoke happens - they come in for repairs, bill gets estimated as pretty high & the customer decides they want shut - often the yoke is a non-runner/banjaxed & isn't going to make much except scrap value - however it might have a higher value in spares - in which case it's win-win.
@@jamesward5721 that is exactly what happened. The owner had lost faith in it and wasn’t prepared to spend any money on it. It was being pushed around our yard & one of my lads wanted something to do. So I put him on an intake system decarb, but the minute the manifold was removed I realised it wasn’t being choked of air anyway. So I jumped back onto it to try get it running just to prove the bottom end was good, bad oil pressure and all that. A secondhand engine for one of these cost €2500 and still needs all the usual stuff doing. Headgasket, camshaft, strainer etc
@@kennedysgarage3281 We do it - mostly jeeps but not always - customer brings them in, something major is genuinely fecked, bill is going to be eye-watering no matter what & the owner (usually wisely) says "Feck that!" - we work out a deal with them, buy the yoke as a parts vehicle & break it. Because we're able to break a yoke down totally - as in to a bare shell, nothing left to unbolt, no wires left, no modules, nada, we can offer them a better price than they'd get as scrap or selling as a non-runner. Plus many are glad to just be able to move on, they're sick & tired of the yoke as it has their heart broken. I see stuff going to scrap yards - daily, does my head in - that get crushed for metal, where the value of the parts would be off the scale compared to what the seller gets & what the yard earns for the "metal" value. Melts my head.
Well there’s a great project right there for someone 😂 Looks like all the classic 2.2 Sky-Active have caught up on this motor but at least it’s still running..I’m assuming the injector was just not injecting at all so it really was a 3 cylinder yoke…or indeed because it’s still flakey a 2.5 cylinder 😊 Do you hold onto it for parts Peter….fix it for resale…or sell to scrap yard?
The turbo leak oil , and the inletmaifold its full of old oil, the are oil in the intercooler too, that because the mapsensor look like so , The garage mekakanik does not help if the owber not now what the do...
Crazy pesky mazda 😢 always bites mechenic on the neck...in my opinion its antirepair technology methods engine codes bites ABS DSC traction control 😢what a mess ironically no one complaining about it ..well what the h"""k its making us money😅
Great video, thanks for posting.

On a 2019 , you won't have much problems. Alot of issues are with the earlier ones.
Keep servicing as usual , and make sure correct oil is used.
Nice

I have just seen a MAP like this. Have you seen / had anything else other than the turbo that is the cause of the oiling?
Id test those injectors on a pico 2204a its the only reliable way of testing those piezos.
