Mazda 6 diesel engines have issues major ones according to diesel mechanics the turbos fail cam lobes wear prematurely, pick up sump pump screens block up, the subject of much discussion. The waste gates are also problems in them.

Hi, is there any chance your moving to Dorset uk? 😊 top mechanic top guy for doing these vids, recently bought a Mazda 6 , it’s got a slight hesitation so I clean out egr and inlet and so on it’s better but still there , I read about camshaft on these being a problem, what symptoms would you get with camshaft wear? Many thanks
Yes, I would advise removing the injectors & rocker cover to inspect the camshaft & hydraulic tappets. They can fail too 🤞🤞👍
is it the sameish for a cx5 2016 2.0 Skyactive AT gasoline ?
How to open crankshaft pulley and is there any tip be aware of please
Good job my teacher, s👏👏

Hey Peter . Would you be able to talk to the Diagnostic reading of the Camshaft Differential and if there is a reading that indicates the chain stretch. Have 3 MAzda CX5's with readings of 0.9 , 2.4 & 4.6. I am worried that the last car reading the 4.6 needs a new Chain. Are you familiar with this Reading ? Do you know if there is a Recomended Differential number that indicates a need to replace the Chain. Could it be a useful reading to get ?
I am not familiar with this Andrew so do not not what is within parameters. But I am doing an exhaust camshaft on one tomorrow and most certainly take a look 👀 👍👍
Good evening Sir, I am watching all your videos with the 2.2 engine from Mazda. I saw that you use a distribution kit from FAI. Is this FAI putty ok? Thank you in advance for your answer and BRAVO for the professionalism with which you make these videos!
I find the FAI brand good but I always deal with local distributors whom always stand over the products that they supply me & due to this I don’t worry about the quality of their goods. Does that make sense 🤷🏼♂️👍👍👍
@@kennedysgarage3281Hello and thank you very much for the answer. If I send you the money, can you buy me an FAI kit? IN Romania, the quality is poor and I do not trust the parts brought by the distributor, they may be counterfeit
@@florinazoitei913 unfortunately I’m too busy to become a parts supplier but google Scanlon motor factors in Waterford Ireland & they might be able to help 😉
@@kennedysgarage3281 Ok, anyway, thank you very much for your help! Good health and increase in money!
@@florinazoitei913 thank you & I look forward to talking in the comments again soon 🙏🙏👍
Mazda 6 diesel engines have issues major ones according to diesel mechanics the turbos fail cam lobes wear prematurely, pick up sump pump screens block up, the subject of much discussion. The waste gates are also problems in them.
@@Alladin-n5j if injector washers leak this causes carbon buildup in the engine, this carbon then blocks the oil strainer. Blocked oil strainer causes lower oil pressure and makes turbos and big end bearings to fail.
So change the injector washers and problem solved 🙂🙂
Great job big thumb up:)
Thank you Lukasz, it might help someday 🙏🙏👍👍
Great information but tells me too avoid skyactive lol, just doing the same job on r2aa.
Keep up the great content 👌
They can be troublesome enough alright. But when they are repaired right they can be some car 🚗
I’m glad you enjoy some of my content 😉🙏🙏
Mazda king. ..just another day at the office 🙃
I’m inundated with Mazda’s from all over Ireland at this point Chris, I’m having a job getting other interesting repairs at this point 🤷🏼♂️👍👍👍
@Kennedy’s garage I'm sure there are plenty of faults on mazda cars for you to keep us entertained for a few weeks. Plus think how many people in the UK have these cars and search youtube when they can't fix them.
@@the_retired_mechanic they do get quite a lot more views 😬😬😬
Would you be so kind to give us a price for this job?... I know some mechanics are reluctant to this but it would really be helpful for those of us who own this money pit we call Mazda 6 2.2Diesel. Thank you for all your videos, they're helpful.
The timing chain replacement is around €1500 but it is advisable to replace the oil strainer when you have the sump/ oil pan removed, this could cost around €200 extra. Hopefully this helps 🙏🙏👍
Peter did you ever drop chewing gum into the engine?
No. But if ever I did hopefully it would just get chewed up & spat out 😂😂😂
Those Mazda's with the diesel engines are soo cheap at the mo. And they are a great drive. I'm tempted knowing Peter is there..to fix it if it explodes.
Go for it Bastogne. They are a great machine 💪💪
Jobs a goodun 👍
It all worked out perfectly John, it’s nice when they go to plan 😬👍👍👍
My advice. Never change one in a bad mood or hungover. You will be doing it twice.
At my age doing anything with a hangover is a task, even getting up 😂😂
@@kennedysgarage3281 If I had known your based in Waterford I would have dropped in during the holidays. We were visiting family in West Cork.

Its a good mechanic to work these abomination of an engine...In NZL its a 10K job to do the the head chains cam and labour...
