Tiger 2 was over-engineered and not reliable. And it was too slow.

That's been a really enjoyable series. I've been involved in some (steam locomotive) restoration projects in the past and now I'm a machinegun aficionado in the process of translating a WW2 German manual on Heavy Machine Gun Theory, so this level of detail "really hits me where I live!" All the best!

"You have to drive the tank." Heh, gave me a flashback to one of the TC's in my Guard unit, M60A3. We were at Ft. Hood driving into a blue norther, driver was unbuttoned and complaining about the daggers of ice hitting him in the face. TC: "Drive this f-in' tank! You want me to drive this f-in' tank? Let me down there, I'll drive this f-in' tank!" Over and over for about 3 miles. Words to live by: 1. Never get out of the boat, 2. Drive the f-in' tank!

Now that was your lucky day, it is great that these vehicles are still running and being used, I would have been happy to have been able just to sit in it, best regards from Australia 👍👍👍👍👍

0:40 The MG34 visible here is the infantry version. A tank would carry the Panzer version.
1:00 Notice the flanges running across in front of the driver and along the side. The whole upper half of this tank could be unbolted and lifted off. The bolts are mostly missing here.
1:30 The panel beneath the visor looks genuine, has a real 12V socket at the left, but I think that socket would have been on the opposite side out of sight.
The switch on the right looks real. But I'm not sure that a dimmer lamp would have been in the middle like that? These lamps were moved around between versions, so I can't be sure.
2:20 The intercom controller is visible above the controls - the grey box. It's not wired up. The two sockets are for the driver's headphones and microphones.
The white control panel is itself lacking a lamp and a 12V socket.
3:21 If you can't get the hatch open, that black handle allows you to detach the whole hatch from the tank.

Thankyou for the input. Did you watch any of the other episodes in the series? Randy explains and has several reasons for doing things the way he did. The vehicle was designed for rental use, a lot of items have been modernized for safety and reliability on a film set or an event. In addition some of the items you mention are near impossible to find lately.

What a wonderfully restored vehicle from around 80 years ago! Yes,, hard to believe, but it really is that long ago! BTW, what do you mean by 'Ausführlich' after the designation? That just means 'detailed'.
