You have two red lights glowing at the gunner's position; on the traverse gears and on the side of the gun. But these lights didn't shine unless the actual trigger was pressed. Also, you have them wired up wrongly. You haven't plugged the gun into the tank's wiring, anyway. You put headphones on the loader but he didn't have any. The commander's headset doesn't seem to be connected to anything.
I like the detail of the inside. Was the Panzer IV the Germans best tank? I am guessing that a T-34 snuck behind the Panzer, and took it out. Great video, thank you very much Frog 🐸
At 1:42 we can see a Kasten Z21 signal box on the roof beside the cupola, with its wiring and all. This box did not exist in the Ausf.G. It was present in the Ausf.E and earlier models. At 2:37 we can see that the gun is not plugged into the tank's electrical supply (the socket is top center in the image). One must ask how the lamp on the gun is glowing, then. At 1:07 we can see an electrical socket that you put on the visible side of the panel before the driver. This socket was actually out of sight on the reverse side. I will repeat what I said about the loader: he had no headset.
I wonder why the tank commander hasn't yelled at this guy for crawling inside and outside the tank while rest of the crew awaits? Then it got blown up at the end because of this guy.

I can't believe I've never known about that. Thanks for any illumination on the subject!
So, assuming I understand your question correctly, the Panzer IV's turret power is a bit unique for the time. The turret is powered by an auxiliary engine, the DKW ZW 500 (used in the Panzer IV E - H). With that, every aspect of the turret could be used (including powered traverse) without the tanks main engine running. Most tanks can run basic electrics without the engine (as the battery could be manually connected and disconnected), though most other tanks required the engine to be running to power the traverse actuators.
@@Mach-2-Fishbed Very interesting... My original post had taken one thing for granted... that of centering all power connection to a "post" and rings under the center of the turret deck.
