Mopars are really expensive to mod. You could've spent alot more money if you would've done a stall converter and did anykind of port work for some extra ponies, hell a supercharger alone would cost what you spent on what you did. Trust me, I know, I've spent a ton of money on modding my car. Enjoy your build bro, congrats! 💪
Crazy, i cammed my srt 8 back in 2018 cam from inertia srt Max plus, I didn’t do lifters or springs on mine, just straight cam swap. I spend $1960 here at Washington state. That included the cam, labor, and tune.. I already had my exhaust done which is also borla atak. My car was sitting at 170k miles when I did the cam, I’m at 242k now

The SRT Max for a factory 6.1 is about aggressive as you want to get, there is a reason the max and spartan cam are the most copied cam on the market for the Hemi

Question, when trying to find the color code for your color, I can't tell if it's the Torred, or the Hemi orange. On one site it looks like one, on another site it looks like the other. You know how the internet works...Lol. Mind telling me which one it is? Thanks buddy!
When you consider the reliability upgrade by doing the cams and lifters well worth it. Obviously you understand where you could have saved some money with that exhaust system but you live and learn at least you wasted money on a quality product you didnt need rather then wasting money buying an inferior product you did need.
Actually, the LS is a pushrod engine just like the HEMI. Therefore the process for installing the cam is the same. As for the other mods... You probably could've gotten by without the Borla cat-back exhaust. The long tubes & the intake were definitely needed for the cam. The long tubes also give you more on the top end. Good compliment to the cam. 💪🏼
@@srtdad Modding cars is not always perfect. There's a lot of trial & error involved. I think I mentioned before that I'm already on my 3rd exhaust setup. I'm actually kinda looking to change it again. Still debating what to do. Gotta replace my blown axle first, & finish my suspension work before I dive into that again.

But hey, I was watching some guy the other day I think he has an 07 srt8 charger with CAI & he initially ran 286 on the dyno… After he got it tuned, it was pushing 301 to the wheels… Granted he was like at 130k miles but 422 vs 301 is a major difference😅💪🏾
@@aydendaugherty9432 That actually not bad for a 6.1L. what did you run before the intake & headers? That engine is rated at 425 hrsprs stock, but that at the crank. You lose a decent chunk of power through the drivetrain. Plus just putting long tubes doesn't net you much more power until you get a tune.
If the charger cost around 20-25k and you spent 10k youre still basically at scat pack cost and power except youre super unique so id say it is worth it. But if the charger cost anything greater than 25k than its not worth it. We still need to see where youre at with a narrow body scat charger.
Can you still rev while cruising ? For example your cruisin through the city and come to a tunnel . As all car guys do lol you wanna rev it to get that echo . So you kinda drop rpm’s and rev it. Are you still able to do so?
Nice ! I’m takin mine back in next week for dyno and a final tune . It wouldn’t let me go from drive to neutral to give it some revs it would stall out 🤦🏻♂️. But we got pretty much same set up so your vids make me not worry to much 😂 whenever in San DIego man we should meet up! Cars bad ass
Ill be the first to say you should have went somewhere else they strong armed you of them 5k you shouldnt have paid more than 3k in parts labor for cam swap. I got a shop to swap out my old 6.1 for a low mile 6.1 for 600 dollars he told me bring the parts and hell charge me 1000 its only a 4-7 hour job he told me, ill never buy an exhaust sytem when there upwards of a 1k when cost to make all that metal is only 300
I’m not going to disagree with you lol 😂 your mostly right lol but my heads were taken to the machine shop and are basically brand new heads and that’s what took the longest to wait for

I ran the dyno at 375 max power with long tubes and cai. I should be making more im confused
The 6.1L HEMI's before the refresh of '09 were severely lacking power. The heads didn't follow as well.
