Porsche 718 Boxster T | Road test & review

- I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days nipping around in a 718 Boxster T, and loved every moment of it! The engine may not be quite the star turn, but the chassis most definitely is, and the way these 718s ride, corner and perform dynamically is deeply impressive. Heated, low-slung sports seats locate the driver ideally in the car, the driving position is spot on, the 7 speed PDK is impressive (although I'd still prefer a manual) and I even managed to get around 30mpg over two very enthusiastic days!
White isn't perhaps the strongest colour, although it does at least show the contrast in the body detailing. Overall, as is clear from the vid, I was hooked.

I have one three years ago so good to drive I am enjoying very much.

I think the white looks good; on the Porsche configurator can't decide if I like it with all the black bits painted white too...
Nice review but I don’t understand the complaint re: the engine. If someone wants a brash boy toy that makes a lot of noise then they should buy a Civic R or Subaru WRX STI. Porsche designed this as a grown up driving machine and did an outstanding job. I’m not saying this because I am offended by multiple commentators statements about the sound, I really don’t care. I simply don’t understand the complaint. Anyway I still gave him a like.
My comments are in the context of what came before (i.e the flat six) and given what Porsche have released since (GTS) , I stand by the comment. I’d read the complaints about the muted noise from the four but only really understood it once I’d driven it.
@@markscars1069 Thanks for the reply. I do understand that you think it is muted in comparison to a flat six. I just don’t see why that matters. I guess you either want more noise or it doesn’t matter. Obviously to me, I think it sounds fine. I do admit that I drive a 718. but I used to drive an S2000 and the cacophony drove me nuts. It was still fun to drive but not for long distances. I guess I appreciate having a remarkable performing sports car that doesn’t have to rattle your brains either figuratively or literally.

hahaha that's right :) Every time I see a nice cabrio in the city, the top is up, no matter what the temperature is and then I have an autistic reflex and say to myself "open the damn top already" :)
High so yeah my dad bought a boxster t for my mom and I want to hear the car is this with a stock exhaust?

Not in my view, no.
Great car, however a VW golf engine does not cut it....
It’s a flat 4 boxer the golf is an in line 4, totally different design. Please do get informed before making throwaway comments
