  • Explaining what a CB09 blade is and what it is used for in a silhouette Cameo. And do you really need one? Maybe yes and maybe no, it all depends on what you cut! This is part 1 I will be back with Part 2 on how to set up a CB09 blade to cut!
    **Forgot to mention, using a non-silhouette blade will void the machine's warranty--mine are long out of warranty, but keep that in mine if you have a brand new machine!!

    Thank you! Put an order to this blades) Got my Portrait 3 not long ago, and it's really great machine. But i cut a lot of thin leather for applications and i afraid that autoblade will dull very quickly and they are not very cheap:)

      I hope it works out well for you! I would defiantly set one up if I cut a bunch of leather because they will tough on the standard blades!

    So why do you use a holder and blade for only one type of product? I heard you say to leave a holder/blade setup only for one type and not use it on anything else, but I don't understand why each material needs its own setup. Thanks.

      So I do that because there are no markings on the cb09 blades. So if you change a blade setting, there’s no way to know how to get it back to the previous setting. Hope that makes sense. I have three set up, for tricker things to cut. There was a paper number line that some people taped down to the blade to use as a reference, but it just seem easier to have one setup a material. Rather than readjusting & test cutting.

    What is a ratchet blade, I have never seen one, I have the cameo 4, seen all types of blades but never anything called "ratchet ", I am in Europe is it called something else?

      The ratchet blade is a black blade that was the blade for the cameo 1 & 2. The auto blade was released with the cameo 3, (and came with the cameo 4) and it’s the blade a lot of people use now. The ratchet blade does the same thing as the auto blade, it just doesn’t adjust the blade depth automatic-you have to manually change the blade depth.
      The ratchet blade is in this video when I talk about the new blade silhouette has released - it’s the black blade.

      @@MissMaryEmbroidery Thank you so much for your reply! I am so tired of buying new Silhouette blades almost every month! I bought one last month and now it's not cutting again. Frustrating.

      @@DNTdaisy I totally understand that!! It always felt like they would get dull so quickly! I am still using the blades from this video now, & the glitter one is just now getting a little dull now!

    Is this blade also usable for the Cameo 1?

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe so, I don't have a cameo 1, so I have no experience with it.

    What material do like to use the 30 degree blade?

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have actually never used the 30 degree blade before! I generally just use the 45 for everything....but I also don't cut a lot of different materials!
