    I cut kiss cut with this blade without problem, but when I want die cut, it won't go through, no matter the force setting I use. I even tried to screw it out longer up to 1 mm with maximum force (33 on Cameo 4) and it still did not cut through...
    I tried using auto blade and it cut through even when I use blade setting 5 and force 15.

    I have a crazy question that I am hoping you could answer. Will these blades cut flat acrylic sheets, like shriky dinks? Any advise would be grateful.

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the thickness of the acrylic. Very thin sheets - yes it should (I havent tried, so I can only speculate). But with a material that hard you will blunt your blade very quickly - they are not designed for this kind of work.
      Shrinky dinks should be quite easy to cut as it isnt as hard as acrylic - I have seen many people easily cut those

    not sure if its the model i purchased, by my blades will NOT seat into the holder at all. iv watched a few videos and everyone seems to just slide them in. i tried by hand, and then holding the blade with pliers so i didnt stab myself, and it will not seat. i just had to put the spring on, let it lean against the edge, and then get it "straight" by putting the cap on and guiding it thru the hole in the cap. not sure if im missing something here? also, i tried getting the template you offered. filled in my email 2 or 3 times, and no link was ever sent. so, you may want to look into that.

    My CB09 Blade weight 11,60gr. /// Did you noticed that there are "different CB09 blade holders available" and not all blades fit in all holders :/ … I guess many won’t notice this as the blades (in my case only vinyl) cuts basically forever. I have here now 3 from 6 blade holders (all were sold as CB09 Graphtec) and they won’t let insert the blades I have from a bundle.

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your blade came with the spring, then you will need to use it, the blade that uses the spring inserts from the bottom (the main part of the CB09), and if im not mistaken, the one that doesnt use the blade loads from the tip (dont have one to confirm unfortunately)

    Thank you so much for this video! It's helped out immensely! One question - you say the 60* blade is for thin materials, but everything I read says the 60* blade is for thicker materials, and reference it as a deep cut blade. Can you clarify?

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yay! Im glad :)
      It depends on where the blade is measured from, if the actual blade itself is 60 deg, then it is a much thicker blade, and it can cut thicker things. If the degrees of the blade is measured from the ground to the blade as 60 degrees then the blade itself is thinner and can cut the thinner/finer materials - I noticed this inconsistency after releasing this video unfortunately - sorry for the confusion!

    Kelly so many tutorials are my favourite! I have learnt so much. I must say the Silhoette Studio Tutorials for Beginners helped me so much and Price Your Crafts: How do I work out prices ... Both got me started with my little business. Thank you for being so generous with your time. You have taught me so much. I always look forward to seeing your nails too.

    Sal baie graag wil weet hoe mens 'n design na jou sny opsie stuur en net die buitelyne kan sny sonder dat dit die binneste buitelyne ook saam sny, ek dink dit het te doen met die compound path maar ek kry nog nie die koutjie by die oor nie. Ek delete gewoonlik die binne deel en sny net die buitelyne. 🙈

    Thank you for this video. I also had my cb09 blade for years before trying it. I have just changed my blade and wanted to mention that when inserting the blade there is a circle hole in the silver holder and I found my blade needed to be pushed slightly into that hole till it stood straight by itself. Then screw on the black cap thing. At first I didn't to that and I couldn't get my cut settings to work but after re inserting the blade into that hole thing it cuts perfectly. Hope this helps someone else.

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are most welcome! Glad you mentioned that yes! As mentioned in the video, there are two (or more?) different types of CB09, and I think that is the other type that I dont have :)

    This is a great video for a beginner, but I don't bother with adjusting the blade depth, I have 3, one holds the 35 degree blade, one holds the 45 degree blade and the other holds the 60 degree blade (never used the 60!) I adjust my cutting using the software, I use the 35 for 350gsm card, and the 45 for vinyl. Not had any problems. Ive actually used the 35 blade to cut vinyl because it was loaded into my cameo and I couldn't be bothered to change it lol I just increased the force, it worked great, I cut a tiny fairy, 2cm high - ish..the detail was astounding. My advice would be ..don't over engineer it, set your blade depth to 1 or 2mm...and use the software to dictate how it cuts. Make it easy on yourself crafters!

    • @KellyRossouw
      @KellyRossouw  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I also used three different ones!
      The only thing the software cant control is the blade depth though, so you may find your blade cutting too deep if it is out too much
