I was raised by Depression Era parents and learned so much from them. Nothing was wasted, we ate leftovers, my dad repaired things in our home, money was not wasted, etc. I buy almost nothing brand new. My home is also small. I’ve lived in larger homes and everything you said was spot on. My small home is less expensive to maintain and takes much less time and effort to clean.
It is so true with small homes isn't it. Thanks for sharing that.
My word for the year is contentment. I’ve never had a word for the year before but my husband and I really want to get our finances in order and be debt free. So we are trying to be content with what we already have and be intentional with the money we do spend. Thank you for your encouragement and inspiration. Blessings.
I've lived in a 750 square home and loved it. Currently living in a 3000 square foot home and ready to downsize back to a 1000 ft or under. You are spot on with the bills, cleaning etc. I'm frugal, it might take me months or longer to buy something. I keep my eyes open but don't want to spend a lot of time looking. I figure at the right time the right item will show up. HA!
May the Lord honor your stewardship of His blessings.
My husband and I were committed to living debt free from the beginning of our marriage. We do buy new cars, but keep them for a very long time. We buy a basic model without all the bells and whistles. My husband meticulously maintains them. It is possible to be unthrifty thrifting- buying too much or what we don’t need. When you have less things, the things you have stand out and their beauty noticed (rather than clutter). I actually enjoy cleaning. It gives me the opportunity to focus each thing and appreciate it as I clean it. I love clean and the smell of clean. I don’t want to be “influenced “, but inspired in a healthy way with boundaries. (Just because something is good, doesn’t mean it’s good for me).
Well said.
Love this video! I am really watching what I am doing with my money and bringing in less stuff and getting rid of stuff! Even if it means a loss of money.
I also drive an older car and very happy with it. I tell people I’m over the cool factor and less bells and whistles means less to go wrong with it !
I agree with you on cars. I don't know if we will ever buy another new car. Most of our cars (including my kids) have been from family or used. Car prices are just ridiculous!! I don't know how a middle class family can afford a new car!
Love that!
Wise words, indeed! We have been deceived into thinking we need more than we really do. Credit has enabled a lot of bad habits. I am working on being content with what I have. Thank you for the good tips! 🤗
Yes! Thank you!
Just what I needed for this month 💷💷
I love the word intentional, to me being intentional is also being productive. I remember the coupon craze, it was nuts. I always got caught in line behind the lady that had 250 coupons😂 Great tips, Thank you.
That is true with productivity and intentional! LOL!
Now it’s (coupons) done on apps.
Once again thank you for your channel so inspirational. All your tips are very for me. I love being frugal!
Great Advise about large home You are so Blessed with your beautiful home
Thank you so much!
Good job, Davee!
Thank you, Davee. I so agree with you 100 percent. My frugal mentality has come with age, I think. I have always tried to be frugal, but looking back at my younger years, I bought a lot of things I didn’t need at all. Now I have no desire for those things.
Good advice.
Absolutely you right about everything! This is a great video!
Absolutely you right about everything thanks for sharing 💖💖💖💖💖
Wonderful advice for all ages. Good job Davee. See ya soon. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes, yes, yes! I just posted a video about my frugal habits. So much overlap! I agree being frugal is different than cheap. We also choose to invest in our health with higher quality food and being debt free w/ owning our vehicle out right.
Thanks for confirming what I already knew - was taught by my grandparents and mom - frugal is the way to go! Blessings to you and your family.
Good info, but background music made it impossible for me to listen, just found your channel. Are all videos have music throughout?
It's very loud & distracting for me
