If you have been an F1 fan for over 5+ years this isn’t worth it. I got free tickets and wasn’t impressed. I have watched F1 since 1998. This event is for new F1 fans who don’t have a large background of the sport.

I am sorry, but I could not disagree more. I am a huge F1 fan and brought tickets for myself and two friends as soon as they went on sale. What a complete and utter waste of time and money. It doesn’t take longer than 30 minutes to cover the show well. Admittedly I didn’t have to wait to look at the displays because there were probably 25 other people in the whole display - at 7pm on a Friday evening. The biggest disappointment was the cars on display. While the cars that are there are great, there are only 4 cars on display (and the Red Bull is not one of there). So many generations missing. The only really interactive display was the reaction timer. That was fun. Lastly the pit wall show was a complete mess. That concept could have been used so much better. Actually, now lastly. The simulator was another disappointment. $20 for 5 min is not even enough to get around the Montreal track three times and you can’t compete against others you are with. I really wish it had been a good show, I was so looking forward to it, but it really was a massive disappointment and not worth the price of entry.

I respect many of your critiques and they are valid.
Had it been a curated permanent exhibition at a well-known museum I would have had a very different standard for judging. But given it's a commercially run touring show aimed at an entry level audience and in a temporary exhibition space, I tempered my expectations. I felt it did a pretty good job trying to walk the line between drawing new eyes to the sport while also appealing to long term fans.
Thanks, I do appreciate your comment!

Yup that's what I expected. Knew it wouldn't be worth the price of admission

I went. I wasn't expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. The multi media aspect of it works very well. As some have said - more cars would have been nice - but the ones that they had were amazing - especially (and I'm shocked i'm saying this: ) the Haas - the cutaway. Loved the show, bought the shirt.

Nice cover of the entire exhibit! I did the tour today! I wish they had die-cast models on sale (in addition to the merchandise). Also, it’s fun to have exhibits like these, for many of those who find the actual races expensive. This could help F1 fans and others to know more about the sport. 😊

Thanks so much! Looking at the prices of the merch for sale I'm guessing a die cast model might be priced similar to an actual car! And totally agree with you on your last comment. Seems like most people at the exhibit were there with others indoctrinating them into the joys of F1. Cheers!

If you are looking for diecasts from F1 and IndyCar series you should check out Toronto Motorsports. They have all of the licensed models for current and some past drivers.

it feels extremely overpriced for what you're getting, if you live in Toronto, for a little bit more you can go to Montreal GP, even with only for Friday/Saturday GA tickets, it'd be a hell of a lot more entertaining. Even the free exhibits in some streets in Montreal during the GP weekend is pretty fun. They have the sim racing stuff for free.

Glad you liked it. I am going in mid June. Can you say more about the headphones? Are they noise cancelling and good quality? Can you bring your own headphones?

    • @GlobeDecker
      @GlobeDecker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The headphones are attached to a receiver, which is where they are plugged into. They provide over the ear headphones of good quality. I think you could substitute you own if you wanted

Went last weekend on Saturday. Nice exhibit overall but has areas of improvement: more seating would be welcome, specially for seniors; audio guide tended to be sensitive of position and glitchy; the wire cage of the helmets’ wall is horrible -better displayed in glass.

I agree with the helmet wall. Why would they put them behind cages when everything else was behind glass? It was really poorly done as a whole.

Absolutely bang on review. Went on Sat May 4 and loved every minute of it. From origin stories to design deep dives, so much to learn, absorb and appreciate.
My only gripe is the extra charge for simulators and the expensive merch in the store. $120 for an unframed poster is a bit much.

I hear you on the inflated merch prices! $20 for a fridge magnet! Sheesh!

Haven't been, I can't imagine this being worth the money unless you're a thirteen year old kid. F1 has become a slick , overpriced, Hollywood production. If you're serious about F1 save money and and just go to a race. Montreal is convenient, easy to access, and inexpensive if your on a budget. Hint, stay at the dorm rooms at McGill. Then use that money you saved for better tickets. My first race was 84' Detroit. Media with pit passes was $100Usd. Got the pictures.

I was excited about this when it was announced and bought a ticket to go on my birthday (on a Thursday). The whole exhibit was very underwhelming. The coolest things were the Haas car that was half open to see the engine/mechanics and some of Grosjean's crashed car from 2020. I think I spent $40-50 for the ticket. I made it through the very packed exhibit in 45 minutes and felt I wasted my time and money. I walked up to the simulator only to be told I didn't have the right ticket. I laughed and walked away. I took the GO Train from Oshawa so it was $24.50 for my transit. WASTE OF TIME. I paid for the VIP ticket for the Pink Floyd exhibit last summer and it was AMAZING. This was such a let down.

I thought it was okay... My wife who is a new F1 fan enjoyed most of it. If you are a seasoned F1 fan with knowledge about its history then you won't get much out of it. The admission ticket is already expensive and should have included the driving simulator time. Playing on the simulator is an extra $25 for FIVE MINUTES - utter robbery. The gift shop was a complete disappointment - most of it was merch of the event itself. There were a few tops and hats from Ferrari, Merc, and Red Bull but nothing from McLaren and the other teams. As for the exhibit itself, the few historical cars were neat, but the only full modern car on display was from HAAS - why HAAS?! If you watch all the videos at each station then the 90minute estimated visit time is accurate.

If it's as good as he says it is, then $66 sounds like a bargain.
If you want to talk _rip offs/expensive tickets..._
... have you been to a concert recently?
    😂 or an F1 race.
I noticed some people weren't as thrilled with it as the guy in the video.
So if that's the case, then it is a waste of money.

Def ridiculous, however merch prices at the exhibit are pretty much the same as they are at a race. $90 ball caps, $130 polo shirts, etc.
