I'm French and discovered Popeye's biscuits (and chicken) by moving to the UK, because it's one of the chicken fast food chains that are halal.
The discovery was life-changing. Their biscuits are GORGEOUS when fresh (they can be a bit dry when they're not, it's true... not to the extent the memes make them out to be, but just a little). Now, I'm spending a month back in France for the holidays, and I'm already missing my Popeye's 😭
Now, I know why Americans went crazy for their food, a while ago. You guys tend to be... a bit on the excessive side, sometimes, but I must admit Popeye's food is worth it.
I do like their biscuits. I've made scratch biscuits many times, but they never turn out like this. I think though that my favorite biscuits came from Bob Evans. We had breakfast there many years ago while on vacation if FLA. Our family went through a few baskets of them.
Red Lobster has the BEST biscuits!
Cracker Barrel is a close second....
Yes fresh they are amazing but they don't reheat well.

You're supposed to have something to drink with you. What yall want for the buttermilk to squish out of them when you bite it? Then they'll be too moist. People love to complain and never happy

All their food is seasoned with msg, and the biscuits are soaked in butter twice. Not sure how anybody thinks a double buttered biscuit is dry.

I learned it's "Biscuit Dressing" and no one there knows specifically what that is ._.
Biscuits made home made is the best way to bake them.and mix them up like you were going to bake them for your family.
And the biscuits have to be soft , and baked to a lite brown.

Bojangles makes their biscuits from scratch, every 20 minutes. Popeyes biscuits come par-cooked and frozen. They are heated for 15 minutes at 350. I'll take the scratch-made every time.
Back in the day, they were baked fresh - I managed New Orleans Popeyes in the '80's. I've wondered about the changes after Al Copeland lost control of the company after the Church's Chicken acquisition.
Bojangles aren’t everywhere. For what’s widely available Popeyes hits the spot better than most.
Exactly and if you can't get Bojangles then get Red Lobster biscuits. All other biscuits are worthless.
Popeyes biscuits are kinda hit or miss to be honest. If you get them fresh out of the oven they are fantastic but if they sit they are down right terrible. There really isn’t any middle ground.

Popeyes is good. A bit hit or miss though. Especially with the service. They can be notoriously rude and slow.
Yeah all the locations near me have glorious food but some of the workers are just straight up nasty in the manner department. I'll always rather get annoyed at someone than not get good food though.

That’s what I’ve been saying since this whole thing started
For years my favorite meal at Popeyes was half a dozen biscuits and a large dirty/Cajun rice. Yep, no chicken. Recently stopped in for this meal only to find that Popeyes no longer sells the dirty/Cajun rice. HUGE disappointment and have not been back into Popeyes since.
