Hi everyone. I filmed this video 4 years ago, but many of you are still watching. Unfortunately, a lot of products have been discontinued since I made this video. I have updated the links in the description bar to reflect this. It seems like Zoya has discontinued the Anchor Basecoat. I have used the American Classics Yellow Stopper basecoat and it works really well for this method. It's a little hard to find but you can buy it from Sally's Beauty!
Hi, I don't use gel products, so this video is extremely helpful! thanks! Is American Classics Yellow Stopper top coat the same as base coat? I cant find the base coat at Sally's Beauty.
You are so informative, great speaker. I love that you display options for people to use regular old nail polish and not gel....great thanks for taking the time to show off your techniques. 😊
This video saved me! I live in a country which hasn't got neither peel off base coats nor water based top coats and the purchases from other countries are too difficult. Thank you very much💋
Your idea of using the base coat is GENIUS. It took me about 2 hours yestreday trying to make it work with top coat, with no result. I've watched your video and then immediately tried it with the base coat this morning. First shot, it worked. THANK YOU!!
omg 😲 thank you for posting! you probably spent so much time on filming this, you said you have to let it fully dry after each coat. we appreciate your time spent on editing as well!
Bateman Furfur Thank you so much for watching!!! I really appreciate it. This video did take a really long time & I was definitely having editing issues 😭.
Using peel off face mask is genius! I am allergic to latex and the skin peeled off my fingers after using the latex barrier even briefly... but I have 8oz of peel off cucumber facial mask right here. Problem solved! Ty!!!
I just found your video, thank you so much. I am so happy, to have an option instead of the smaller bottles of water-based polishes. You helped me out so much thanks again!!!
How do you clean your brush after using the clear Elmer’s glue? This is a great video by the way! I haven’t used my powder since deciding to stop using gel, due to the difficulty of removing and the damage it was doing to my nails…hopefully I can use my powder again with your methods!! Thanks so much!
I had almost given up on using my holo powder because I couldn’t get anything to work with it and that’s even WITH trying a water based top coat! (I won’t use gel because I have delicate nails). I will try the Elmer’s! Thank you so much for doing that work to find out that ingenious trick! I do have one question: will the nail polish still come off with regular nail polish remover with the glue on your nails? Thank you!
yes, like other people said, thanks for uploading! im sure it was a pin to edit. thanks for ur effort! i recently bought one from born pretty too. i forgot what shade it was but i dnt have a lamp or any gel polish. i will try the clear elmers glue method tho and hopefully it turns out like yours. Thanks!
OMG! I LOVE THIS!!! I have done a video on how to use chrome and holo powder with gel but not with regular polish!! this is amazing!! i have way more regular polishes than gel polishes so it's great that there's a foolproof way to still use them with powders. LOVE IT! SUBBED I may try this technique out in the future and if i do I'm definitely tagging you!
My Goldmine thanks! Definitely let me know if you do try this out. Unfortunately, this method doesn't last nearly as long as gel does. I actually bought a LED lamp and gel recently. I did some experimenting, and you can definitely combine regular polish with a gel topcoat
For a black nail polish suggestion, you can get funky fingers, because those are great with one coat. But thanks for making this video because its really hard to find nail powder videos without using gel nail polish. As an idea how about you try it with gel like nail polish?
I'll give funky fingers a try! I've seen them at my local Five Below. By gel like nail polish, do you mean stuff like Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, Essie Gel Couture, Revlon Envy etc? I do have a few of those, and I find they're pretty much identical to regular nail polish. I feel like it's more of a marketing technique.
@@NiaJustNia mine doesn’t so that but I “wrap the tip” so you apply the base coat, nail polish color, and top coat on the free edge of the nail and then apply to the nail bed. This will help it last longer! But when I used SV I would notice that the polish will pull away from the cuticle and side of nail literally shrinking it. I still use sometimes but just something I noticed.
If you're looking for a top coat instead if the glue UNT peelable top coat worked great. Don't put another top coat over it just the water-based top coat

@@CL-jf8qs hello! Unfortunately, I think that product may have been discontinued
@@salty_shelley aww darn. Thanks for your reply. Have you found any replacement that would work as great ?
@@salty_shelley American Classics Yellow Stopper is actually a Top Coat, though, I don't see how that actually works to stop Yellowing Nails......
can you just wash off the excess powder with a nail scrubber?

Thank you for watching my video!! :)
I finally found you and your real nails! Which I also have yet I don't use gel nail polishes
Thanks for this tutorial! I never would have thought of using clear Elmer’s glue to seal the powders.
Wow! Very useful tutorial, an beautiful work, thanks for sharing, I definitely will try the Mermaid pink, purple and blue ones 😍😍😍

I just use water to rinse off the glue! If the glue has dried, you might need some soap, but water is enough to rinse off the glue :)
@@salty_shelley easy enough, thanks so much, again for your helpful suggestions!!!

Yes they are :) i made this video 2 years ago. Unfortunately, my nails don't grow as long as they used to and are weaker now
So easy to follow. Thank you for all the time you put into making it.

thelovinlacquer Okay!
Seche vite is honestly my favourite top coat of all time
Same.. Or Out the Door if I can't find Seche vite
I once was a true seche vite lover and then realized it shrinks the nail polish and out the door doesn’t. You should give it a try!

You can buy it from Aliexpress. They ship to Nepal
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!

Yes!
peel of face mask....genius...thanks
No problem! Thank you for watching 😄
thank you so much!!!
Glad to be of help!!!
love u girl
Cool
Amazing, smart and unformative!!!
This is probably a stupid question but why do you have to use the Elmer's glue before topcoating
Because regular topcoat will ruin the chrome effect. The clear Elmer's glue acts as a Barrier
So Cool Thank You!!!
you're welcome!!
