There is hope. If you listen to the mainstream media you're right, correctly weeping over the pending demise of the IC engine. But they get a lot of stuff wrong. They also think there is a "Great Reset" coming, the opposite of a Constitutional Republic. They want it to inflict this on the whole planet while smiling and saying we must comply. 2 weeks to flatten the curve. Sorry Klaus Schwab, the world is waking up and we won't have any of it. Once we reclaim control the IC engine will be in a good place once more, as well as many other good things.
More people should subscribe to Joe's channel as he is a true petrol head, can drive, isn't some trust fund dude who has access to cars because he has coin and finally seems like a quality human being. Bought a R8 RWS 2018 after seeing your previous review of the blue R8 rwd. Fully loaded(rare for being a rws) and with all plus parts, H&R chassis, AR-1, SW upgrade(630hp). All this for half the price of a Huracan. Could not ask for more. Love it. Thanks 🙏🏽
How did you manage to put the buttons the performance mode and sport exhaust button on the rws version 2018. Wouldnt you need software as well? i tried to do the same but audi told me it wasn’t possible

Great review to the very last drop and some seriously impressive driving skills too so Kudos to you Joe. Audi seem to be on a bit of a roll with their performance cars at the moment and focusing more on driving dynamics than outright speed which is exactly what they need to be doing as winning Carwow drag races is not that relevant in the real world. Will be a tough act to follow.

What a great interior. No extra screen, physical buttons!! and only focussed on the driving experience. you rarely see those kind of interiors these days and thats a shame in my opinion

I have this engine in my 2014 R8 V10 Spyder six speed manual car. I love the car and plan on keeping it for as long as I can! I will also have this engine in my upcoming STO which is scheduled for delivery in February 2022. After watching this video, I’m wondering if I should go ahead and buy another one of these. They will never make a v 10 NA car like this again in my lifetime… you got me thinking for sure.

Great video. The only comment I would make is in relation to equating convertibles with warm and sunny climes. Taking a convertible out on a bright, cold and crisp winters day, with the windows down, wind deflector in and warm hat on is wonderful.

I’d always thought the mk2 R8 looked too fussy. My ideal had always been a mk1 V8 manual. That being said with the mk2 facelift and that red coupe in particular….my god it looks good. We should also give thanks for the continued existence of that V10. Jesus what a sound. Audi can keep their stupid e-tron nonsense, RWD N/A V10 for the win. 👍🏼👍🏼
min 7:44 to 12:34 send it me back on the memory lane to my 2 weeks trip in tenerife and la palma where I rented an Abarth Spider.. ok, 400 hp less but also over 500kgs less; the 2 hours on the roads around Teide at sunrise and the road down from La Palma Observatory station(Roque de los Muchachos) at sunset were a highlight of my trip and some of the best driving experiences I had in my life. awesome video.. and, even though I never liked the R8, this rwd version, especially in a world determined to kill driving pleasure and basically driving itself(with the "help" of self driving cars), makes me appreciate it so much more....so much so that after 15 years or whatever from its original model launch, I kind of lust about driving one(even though I could never afford it). cheers!

I also feel a definite tinge of sadness though at the thought of the powers that be enforcing the demise of great cars like this, and forcing the vast majority of motorists off the road, me for one, once things go all electric due to their expense.

Hats off to Audi for signing off the R8 in style. It's a quality product with a great engine I mean apart from lamborghini who else still makes a V10! The problem with subscriptions Joe is the way you tube works and no body needs to subscribe to watch the videos. I use to be one of those People then just just decided to subscribe to all the channels I like hoping it would help you all in some way. Great video Joe looks like you enjoyed yourself!

Haha very good question and something I was asking myself on the flight home... I think it's because the M xDrive is setup to be very playful and of course switchable, whereas the quattro systems have always been set up to be safe. Strange times though, who would have thought it would be this way around in 2021/22.

Gt3 is gonna be a lot more expensive than a R8 RWD especially with markups
992 Gt3 price more in line with a R8 Performance
Probably not as involved as a GT3 due to it being heavier and not as track-oriented

Why is an M3c (now) a must have Xdrive whereas a RWD only R8 is the preferred choice Joe? Audi revolutionised Quattro but you wouldn’t think so!

In the future the can Pack a huge battery Pack in the place of the mid engine motor.... in fact... it does not have to be huge. 250m is enough
