My biggest issue with the newer games is their lack of chaos. I loved how many wacky items there were in the original game to help balance skill and luck.

Most of Hudsonsoft’s former employees actually went on to work at NDCube so it’s got nothing to do with lacking talent. It was probably an issue with company work ethic. Nintendo games in general were becoming rather safe in that time period, likely since Nintendo was struggling.
I’m actually really surprised to hear that, since it seemed as soon as the dev switched so did the style of the Mario party games. Looking at the release date though, it came out pretty close to paper Mario sticker star, so it’s incredibly possible this was actually one of the first titles affected by the Mario mandates and that had something to do with why the gameplay style shifted. @@no-wiihook9817Amiibo party function? The only function I know of after scanning an Amiibo is receiving a “sticker,” or getting 100 “party points” (which I have forgotten what they’re even for?). I think my Amiibo display shelf is more of an “Amiibo party” than a bunch of digital stickers with zero in-game benefit (aside from collecting them and repositioning them as you like) or being rich in “party points” without having anything to spend them on (or nothing memorable at least). I honestly wish there was an actually useful Amiibo function in-game, like let me scan a Piranha Plant, and then have a couple Piranha Plants sprout up someplace on the map, creating an obstacle for all players. I also wish they’d release a line of Mario Party Amiibos, I’d kill for a Monty Mole Amiibo, and then if scanned it would pop up some mole hills on the map, which players could use to tunnel from one spot to another. The Amiibo functions could be so cool, and be actual game elements, but no, we get…stickers. …Sigh.
The first time the investment mechanic appeared was in Mario Party 7 (Last Game Series Game Cube) with the Windmiville map. It's in my top 3 favorite maps in the series
Incredibly excited for this game. Lately me and my friends have been playing Mario Party 2. Despite the 20+ year old game and the 30+ year old TV, it's one of the funnest gaming experiences we've had together. Great to see the algorithm rewarding you once again bro.

Finally! Someone else agrees with the story mode! Mario Party's story modes are always fun, and knowing how they're going back to their roots, it would be so exciting to see that they can do story mode.
My biggest issue with superstars was the items and how they were given out. Every shop having the same items meant there was less RNG to play around and it came down to who has the most coins when golden pipes showed up except for Horror land and Peach's birthday cake which didn't have them in the shops.

Another thing that I'm hopeful for is that this becomes an "ultimate" version. Where we can just purchase add-ons/DLC for extra boards, mini games, characters, etc. Similar to mario kart, this is one of those games where the base game and formula is great. No need to keep re-inventing the wheel! All people want is added features, not whole new games with weird mechanics.
Although I would love for the game to get DLC, I still really hope the next console gets a new Mario party rather than an enhanced version of jamboree. Although this game looks to have a lot of potential, I think I’d still prefer it if they kept innovating with new games that follow the formula jamboree establishes instead of limiting themselves with what can be done just by altering the original game. I really liked the premise of Super Mario Party, but I often avoided playing it because it only supports a single joy con, and no pro controller or handheld mode. Then when Superstars came WITH support for all controllers, I stuck with that games and haven’t played the other one since.
Pretty much same. Super Mario party had the right idea of trying to go back to the classic formula, but it changed so much of the fundamentals that it really failed at that. my partner and I have put HOURS into Super Mario Party's coop mode. The free movement, ally system, and different character dice blocks require a good bit of strategizing and overall make it a very fresh take. I would love to see it return in SMPJ.

I played my first Mario party ever last weekend with a buddy. Had a great time but he told me if I want to buy one to wait for Jamboree. I’m stoked to see more people excited about it, and I’m ready to play at home with family and friends!

I miss how back then when announcing the superstar they make some sort of clip on who’s gonna defeat bowser. The suspense on waiting who won the board game just adds the excitement.
By far the biggest issue with the car and linear boards in MP9 and 10 (although I thought that the Bowser Party mode was a pretty cool idea) was that it really felt like it removed elements of choice and skill regarding the board-based gameplay (minigames were still normal and fun) that previous entries had. What you were able to do on your turn depended entirely on what your opponents were able to do on their turns and what you roll. Start your turn on the space before a cluster of -3 mini stars? Sucks for you; this turn, you're just losing mini stars, and maybe you land on a minigame space, which doesn't do anything specifically for you and gives everyone instead of just you a chance to win mini stars. Obviously your die rolls and the spaces you land on in other games are also luck-based, and you might have a turn where you just land on a red space and only lose coins. But none of that prevents you from enacting your own longer-term plan to win. Making a choice to turn left instead of right and stop by a shop or avoid risky event spaces even though it might mean a longer route to the star can be game-winning or losing depending on your and other players' current coin amount and item stocks, the position of the star, and the position of each independent player. I may have rolled a 2 this turn and moved nearly nowhere, but I'm still on my way to the Skeleton Key gate and passing by Boo to steal coins or a star from someone else. But in MP9 and 10, if your turn sucks, all you can do is hope to be luckier in each of your ensuing turns and hope to win mini games against your opponents instead of adjusting your game plan to fit a constantly-changing board state. But Jamboree looks awesome.

The thing I like about mario party on the switch is the allies system! Me and my housemates had so much fun trying to recruit the most allies (or colleagues, as we called them)

I am a little concerned about Jamboree just because it has the Super Mario Party title in it. If they just did DLC for Superstars, I think that would have been much much better. However, I am hopeful Jamboree will live up to what has been shown off so far. 🙌🙌😄

I’ve always loved Mario Party and while I’m not an expert and I did skip the Wii U games due to not having a Wii U, I do want to give my thoughts on what might make it better: •Being able to modify the amount of coins needed to buy a star. This would be great to be able to make the game more competitive with stars costing more and make mini games and strategy more important. •have 10 boards minimum. While I realize how hard it is to make a board, if Super MP taught me anything it’s that having too little boards (and easy ones at that) kills my desire to play the game again. •Have more whacky items. I remember loving being able to buy the boo bell or bowser suit to make the gameplay much more chaotic, which really made me sad when I played Super MP and saw the paltry selection of purchaseables. •add DLC. While I’ve never been a big fan of DLC since I should be able to enjoy my game without having to pay more for it after I bought it, I’d prefer that to the experience just ending there and once again Super MP kinda made that something that I want. But those are my thoughts and even that last one is only something I’d want if we’re given an incomplete feeling experience like Super again.
I completely agree with most of your points, but I think 10 boards minimum is a little bit overkill. That would really increase development time a lot and by extension the time between games, and I really like that we’re getting a new Mario party every few years, since while a board offers a unique experience within the game, a brand new game can be even more so with new mechanics and side modes. Same goes for DLC, while I would love DLC to be added, I’d only really want it if it doesn’t delay the next game or cause the next game to have less content. That’s just my opinion though. I do love the idea of more wacky items though, and, from what we know of jamboree, it looks like there will be quite a few in that game! This is the first game I've pre-ordered in a very long time.. As I've gotten older I really put more value in gaming socially with friends and family and this seems to have endless opportunities for that, not to mention the online play looks really fun.

Biggest problem with superstars was, for a game that was a combination of older games how is it going to have the least amount of boards, miss some of the best minigames, and miss so much of the roster of the games it was celebrating? lol
For me, the biggest problem with super Mario party was that the game boards were too small… but I loved the fact that mini games were with joycons, also the other game modes like team mode, the river mode and the rhythm mode (but as you said, they weren’t that diverse in mini games… even more the rhythm mode) and other of the biggest problems was that they didn’t added online mode until before they announced Mario party superstars, and it was a poor online mode (btw I didn’t like superstar because its just a remake of the old ones… so I prefer to play the original Mario party 3 on the n64 online emulator)

Alright hear me out. I have over 10,000 hours in Mario party games, I play Mario party tournaments for money, from 10 turn to 50 turn games, to the point it's almost a full time job lol. And to be completely honest Super Mario Party is still my favorite of all the games to play both competitively and for fun. The buddy system and custom dice blocks along with the wide cast of playable characters always makes every game fun, crazy, and strategic. Every single game is different and a tooth and nail battle to win. And the majority of the motion control mini games add a lot of skill and challenge to the game. Even after close to 2,000 hours in just Mario party super, I still love playing it. Obviously everyone has their own preferences but myself and a lot of other people I know absolutely love Super. That being said I am extremely excited for jamboree. It looks like a fantastic mix of all the things people like from the other games and the things I love from super. Hopefully it expands on many things players love from all the games.

It feels like Jamboree was another step into the right direction, but it still has a problem with coins. U really get way too many of them, like 1 luck-field (like literally every 3rd field is one) and u can get 7-20 coins or even a whole item-bag with 3 items in it. Its just broken. There should be only 3-4 of them on the whole field. Or just remove them, I personally hate them. You dont even need to win mini-games because you get everything shoved up your ass on the map. In MP 4 the genie lamp costs 30 coins, this party the golden tube costs 25. But considering you get so much coins just bc you exist is crazy to me. When you never win a mini-game in MP 4 you really struggle to get coins to buy stuff. And idk why loser get coins. Like you lose and still get like 3 coins and the 3rd 2 coins or something, since when do you reward losing. Its only 2-3 coins but it still can make a difference to me.
Yeah, the game’s economy is definitely something that still needs to be fixed. I’d say they should make the lucky spaces about as common as the unlucky spaces, so they’re more well balanced, and have more hazards on the boards that take away coins. Thanks for watching!!

I know everyone hated the car in 9, but I loved intentionally taking unwise routes on my turn for the other players to deal with. Example being the map with the rising lava. Every turn I stall climbing with bad path choices and items to lower my move count so that everyone touches the lava before it's my turn again, where hopefully the detour if finished and I can escape safely before sabotaging everyone again. 😈

@@MarkCrowCrow I'll give you the quick rundown. Island tour was the prequel to super Mario party (bad). Star rush was okay for a bit but got old from the gimmick. Finally top 100 should've included actual boards to play.
What I think of Mario party 10 keeping the car system. It may have most likely had to do with how Nintendo seemed to be rushing all development on Wii u as they knew out of the gate the console was a sales failure. A lot of Wii u games seemed rushed like Mario Tennis as another example.

I want more boards in a title. MP1 STILL leads the pack at 8 boards, I still don't understand why we can't have at least that many boards in one title. After that I agree and want the boards to be bigger, it is fun to wander around Western Land, if NDCube thinks that it is too big then increase the options to increase movement which they did, you can have a dedicated Movement Item Space that gives you an item based on your position on the board relative to the star and your place and if you are winning then you only get 3 coins. I also want rare items to come back since they offer a TON of potential to swing the game in your favor, you could make the Choose your target Warp Block a rare item and there are a lot of other ideas for rare items. Mini games also need to tone down the general coin payout, keep 1st prize at ten but only give like 3-5 coins to 2nd while 3rd and 4th get nothing. There are a lot of games where this doesn't even apply like survival games where 2 or even all 4 players can win or Bouns games where you can get over 10 coins easy. And board events that require payment need to be toned up, so it feels like something happened. Mario Party needs to embrace that "destroying friendships" again.
I absolutely agree about the boards! I'd love to see some larger ones with movement-based items, like you mentioned, and it looks like we're getting that in rollem raceway (I think that's the name I'm not 100% sure) in jamboree! As for the target warp block, that sounds a lot like the super warp block from superstars, which I would love to see return along with hopefully a bunch of other rare items! I do understand the issues with the coin payouts for minigames (it kinda disrupts the game's economy a little bit, though not nearly as eggregiously as the 10 coin star price from super) but I think what would be best is having a toggle for the match difficulty, with hard mode having the coin payout from minigames you suggested along with more coins being stolen with boo, no lucky spaces, etc, to make it play more like the classic titles. Easy mode could then be like what they have in superstars, that way fans of both styles are happy! Thanks for watching!!

Considering that the last Mario party games were an absolute train wreck, it's no surprise that NDCube is now trying to get old Mario party boards along with the new ones, which is not boring or unproductive, though it just leaves a hole for new party boards which can have the potential to be better but are over shined by the old ones...

Super Mario Party and the original Mario Party are my two favorites. However, I agree with your opinion on trivializing the economy in Super. But while we're at it, my niece loves the Partner Party and has been playing it since she was like 4 or 5. I think she thinks it's cool getting to do stuff together and having someone to support and cooperate with her really teaches her some valuable lessons about team work. So she enjoys that mode as well as the others, but to that I believe I've circled back to your point... I think they deliberately made a decision to kind of equalize everyone's shot at getting stars and coins. Probably to appeal to families with maybe parents that aren't particularly experienced with video games and also children just getting into them. I think they wanted Super Mario Party to be friendly and approachable to a broad audience, and to that effect I think it was successful. But in defense of your sentiment, I feel ya'. lol When I was a kid we got MARIO PARTY. Your palm would be blistered from Tug of War or Paddle Battle (God... Paddle Battle...) you got CHEATED and abused and screwed over at the last second. There was betrayal and desperation man. Kids today are... not soft but... sensitive to adversity. 😅 So I guess as a developer it must be difficult to find a balance between FUN and FRIENDLY mixed with COMPLEXITY and STRATEGY. Hopefully Jamboree can succeed here.

I even met up with my mom and played it. 😆 We used to play it on N64 when I was little. She ended up winning, so it really does give a fair and interesting chance for everyone. I love the game.

Hopefully is has a good mini game pool. If it does than i would also like DLC for more boards. I mean 7 is respectable so if we do not get any that is fine, Superstars should have had at least one DLC pack, giving us maybe 1 more board from each game (DK jungle, Pirate Land, Chilly waters/Spiny desert)

I only had 2 complaints for Superstars, not enough boards, and I personally think you should be allowed to have item customization / selection. Never been a fan of the golden pipe and I often have enough coins to buy them frequently, my friends and I typically agree to just not buy them as we feel it takes away from having to plan out your route, and makes it so you don’t have to worry about anything else. Other than those small complaints, I was so happy with superstars and already happy to have 7 maps in Jamboree
I really enjoyed Super Mario Party initially. Got all 5 gems and mostly enjoyed it. Then I got pretty bored doing the same 4 boards, and my biggest gripe is with the mini game selections. I figure it wouldn't be too difficult to fix this, but even on my shorter games I'd play the same exact mini game multiple times. It really killed it for me. Then Superstars took Boo away from me, which really sucked and it felt like reselling old games. It's great that we got to see those boards revamped, I was wanting exactly what Jamboree seems to be

My favourites are mario party 4 and 7. I feel after that they took away lot of creativity. Mario party 7 had the idea of setting traps for players. Mario party 4 had probably the coolest maps.

My biggest issue with the newer games is their lack of chaos. I loved how many wacky items there were in the original game to help balance skill and luck.

Most of Hudsonsoft’s former employees actually went on to work at NDCube so it’s got nothing to do with lacking talent. It was probably an issue with company work ethic. Nintendo games in general were becoming rather safe in that time period, likely since Nintendo was struggling.
I’m actually really surprised to hear that, since it seemed as soon as the dev switched so did the style of the Mario party games. Looking at the release date though, it came out pretty close to paper Mario sticker star, so it’s incredibly possible this was actually one of the first titles affected by the Mario mandates and that had something to do with why the gameplay style shifted. @@no-wiihook9817Amiibo party function? The only function I know of after scanning an Amiibo is receiving a “sticker,” or getting 100 “party points” (which I have forgotten what they’re even for?). I think my Amiibo display shelf is more of an “Amiibo party” than a bunch of digital stickers with zero in-game benefit (aside from collecting them and repositioning them as you like) or being rich in “party points” without having anything to spend them on (or nothing memorable at least). I honestly wish there was an actually useful Amiibo function in-game, like let me scan a Piranha Plant, and then have a couple Piranha Plants sprout up someplace on the map, creating an obstacle for all players. I also wish they’d release a line of Mario Party Amiibos, I’d kill for a Monty Mole Amiibo, and then if scanned it would pop up some mole hills on the map, which players could use to tunnel from one spot to another. The Amiibo functions could be so cool, and be actual game elements, but no, we get…stickers. …Sigh.

My biggest issue with superstars was the items and how they were given out. Every shop having the same items meant there was less RNG to play around and it came down to who has the most coins when golden pipes showed up except for Horror land and Peach's birthday cake which didn't have them in the shops.

Another thing that I'm hopeful for is that this becomes an "ultimate" version. Where we can just purchase add-ons/DLC for extra boards, mini games, characters, etc. Similar to mario kart, this is one of those games where the base game and formula is great. No need to keep re-inventing the wheel! All people want is added features, not whole new games with weird mechanics.
Although I would love for the game to get DLC, I still really hope the next console gets a new Mario party rather than an enhanced version of jamboree. Although this game looks to have a lot of potential, I think I’d still prefer it if they kept innovating with new games that follow the formula jamboree establishes instead of limiting themselves with what can be done just by altering the original game. I really liked the premise of Super Mario Party, but I often avoided playing it because it only supports a single joy con, and no pro controller or handheld mode. Then when Superstars came WITH support for all controllers, I stuck with that games and haven’t played the other one since.
Pretty much same. Super Mario party had the right idea of trying to go back to the classic formula, but it changed so much of the fundamentals that it really failed at that. Superstars though I’ve played a ton of with friends because it didn’t have those issues and it had pro controller support! Thanks for watching!!

my partner and I have put HOURS into Super Mario Party's coop mode. The free movement, ally system, and different character dice blocks require a good bit of strategizing and overall make it a very fresh take. I would love to see it return in SMPJ.

By far the biggest issue with the car and linear boards in MP9 and 10 (although I thought that the Bowser Party mode was a pretty cool idea) was that it really felt like it removed elements of choice and skill regarding the board-based gameplay (minigames were still normal and fun) that previous entries had. What you were able to do on your turn depended entirely on what your opponents were able to do on their turns and what you roll. Start your turn on the space before a cluster of -3 mini stars? Sucks for you; this turn, you're just losing mini stars, and maybe you land on a minigame space, which doesn't do anything specifically for you and gives everyone instead of just you a chance to win mini stars.
Obviously your die rolls and the spaces you land on in other games are also luck-based, and you might have a turn where you just land on a red space and only lose coins. But none of that prevents you from enacting your own longer-term plan to win. Making a choice to turn left instead of right and stop by a shop or avoid risky event spaces even though it might mean a longer route to the star can be game-winning or losing depending on your and other players' current coin amount and item stocks, the position of the star, and the position of each independent player. I may have rolled a 2 this turn and moved nearly nowhere, but I'm still on my way to the Skeleton Key gate and passing by Boo to steal coins or a star from someone else. But in MP9 and 10, if your turn sucks, all you can do is hope to be luckier in each of your ensuing turns and hope to win mini games against your opponents instead of adjusting your game plan to fit a constantly-changing board state.
But Jamboree looks awesome.

The thing I like about mario party on the switch is the allies system! Me and my housemates had so much fun trying to recruit the most allies (or colleagues, as we called them)

I’ve always loved Mario Party and while I’m not an expert and I did skip the Wii U games due to not having a Wii U, I do want to give my thoughts on what might make it better:
•Being able to modify the amount of coins needed to buy a star. This would be great to be able to make the game more competitive with stars costing more and make mini games and strategy more important.
•have 10 boards minimum. While I realize how hard it is to make a board, if Super MP taught me anything it’s that having too little boards (and easy ones at that) kills my desire to play the game again.
•Have more whacky items. I remember loving being able to buy the boo bell or bowser suit to make the gameplay much more chaotic, which really made me sad when I played Super MP and saw the paltry selection of purchaseables.
•add DLC. While I’ve never been a big fan of DLC since I should be able to enjoy my game without having to pay more for it after I bought it, I’d prefer that to the experience just ending there and once again Super MP kinda made that something that I want.
But those are my thoughts and even that last one is only something I’d want if we’re given an incomplete feeling experience like Super again.
I completely agree with most of your points, but I think 10 boards minimum is a little bit overkill. That would really increase development time a lot and by extension the time between games, and I really like that we’re getting a new Mario party every few years, since while a board offers a unique experience within the game, a brand new game can be even more so with new mechanics and side modes. Same goes for DLC, while I would love DLC to be added, I’d only really want it if it doesn’t delay the next game or cause the next game to have less content. That’s just my opinion though. I do love the idea of more wacky items though, and, from what we know of jamboree, it looks like there will be quite a few in that game! This is the first game I've pre-ordered in a very long time.. As I've gotten older I really put more value in gaming socially with friends and family and this seems to have endless opportunities for that, not to mention the online play looks really fun.

For me, the biggest problem with super Mario party was that the game boards were too small… but I loved the fact that mini games were with joycons, also the other game modes like team mode, the river mode and the rhythm mode (but as you said, they weren’t that diverse in mini games… even more the rhythm mode) and other of the biggest problems was that they didn’t added online mode until before they announced Mario party superstars, and it was a poor online mode (btw I didn’t like superstar because its just a remake of the old ones… so I prefer to play the original Mario party 3 on the n64 online emulator)

My first ever Mario party game I played was 9 and I really enjoyed it. One of my favorite parts was the story and that’s something I miss after player superstars.

Alright hear me out. I have over 10,000 hours in Mario party games, I play Mario party tournaments for money, from 10 turn to 50 turn games, to the point it's almost a full time job lol. And to be completely honest Super Mario Party is still my favorite of all the games to play both competitively and for fun. The buddy system and custom dice blocks along with the wide cast of playable characters always makes every game fun, crazy, and strategic. Every single game is different and a tooth and nail battle to win. And the majority of the motion control mini games add a lot of skill and challenge to the game. Even after close to 2,000 hours in just Mario party super, I still love playing it. Obviously everyone has their own preferences but myself and a lot of other people I know absolutely love Super. That being said I am extremely excited for jamboree. It looks like a fantastic mix of all the things people like from the other games and the things I love from super. Hopefully it expands on many things players love from all the games.
That’s completely fair! I still think super is one of the worse games in the series, but I definitely won’t deny there’s still fun to be had with it and it’s not an objectively bad game. It feels like Jamboree was another step into the right direction, but it still has a problem with coins. U really get way too many of them, like 1 luck-field (like literally every 3rd field is one) and u can get 7-20 coins or even a whole item-bag with 3 items in it. Its just broken. There should be only 3-4 of them on the whole field. Or just remove them, I personally hate them. You dont even need to win mini-games because you get everything shoved up your ass on the map. In MP 4 the genie lamp costs 30 coins, this party the golden tube costs 25. But considering you get so much coins just bc you exist is crazy to me. When you never win a mini-game in MP 4 you really struggle to get coins to buy stuff. And idk why loser get coins. Like you lose and still get like 3 coins and the 3rd 2 coins or something, since when do you reward losing. Its only 2-3 coins but it still can make a difference to me.
Yeah, the game’s economy is definitely something that still needs to be fixed. I’d say they should make the lucky spaces about as common as the unlucky spaces, so they’re more well balanced, and have more hazards on the boards that take away coins. Thanks for watching!!

I know everyone hated the car in 9, but I loved intentionally taking unwise routes on my turn for the other players to deal with. Example being the map with the rising lava. Every turn I stall climbing with bad path choices and items to lower my move count so that everyone touches the lava before it's my turn again, where hopefully the detour if finished and I can escape safely before sabotaging everyone again. 😈

@@MarkCrowCrow I'll give you the quick rundown. Island tour was the prequel to super Mario party (bad). Star rush was okay for a bit but got old from the gimmick. Finally top 100 should've included actual boards to play.
What I think of Mario party 10 keeping the car system. It may have most likely had to do with how Nintendo seemed to be rushing all development on Wii u as they knew out of the gate the console was a sales failure. A lot of Wii u games seemed rushed like Mario Tennis as another example.

I want more boards in a title. MP1 STILL leads the pack at 8 boards, I still don't understand why we can't have at least that many boards in one title. After that I agree and want the boards to be bigger, it is fun to wander around Western Land, if NDCube thinks that it is too big then increase the options to increase movement which they did, you can have a dedicated Movement Item Space that gives you an item based on your position on the board relative to the star and your place and if you are winning then you only get 3 coins. I also want rare items to come back since they offer a TON of potential to swing the game in your favor, you could make the Choose your target Warp Block a rare item and there are a lot of other ideas for rare items.
Mini games also need to tone down the general coin payout, keep 1st prize at ten but only give like 3-5 coins to 2nd while 3rd and 4th get nothing. There are a lot of games where this doesn't even apply like survival games where 2 or even all 4 players can win or Bouns games where you can get over 10 coins easy. And board events that require payment need to be toned up, so it feels like something happened. Mario Party needs to embrace that "destroying friendships" again.
I absolutely agree about the boards! I'd love to see some larger ones with movement-based items, like you mentioned, and it looks like we're getting that in rollem raceway (I think that's the name I'm not 100% sure) in jamboree! As for the target warp block, that sounds a lot like the super warp block from superstars, which I would love to see return along with hopefully a bunch of other rare items! I do understand the issues with the coin payouts for minigames (it kinda disrupts the game's economy a little bit, though not nearly as eggregiously as the 10 coin star price from super) but I think what would be best is having a toggle for the match difficulty, with hard mode having the coin payout from minigames you suggested along with more coins being stolen with boo, no lucky spaces, etc, to make it play more like the classic titles. Easy mode could then be like what they have in superstars, that way fans of both styles are happy! Thanks for watching!!

Considering that the last Mario party games were an absolute train wreck, it's no surprise that NDCube is now trying to get old Mario party boards along with the new ones, which is not boring or unproductive, though it just leaves a hole for new party boards which can have the potential to be better but are over shined by the old ones...

The biggest problem of superstars was that coins are way to easy to get. So you always have enough and with how easy it is to get an golden pipe the stars where way to easy to get.

Super Mario Party and the original Mario Party are my two favorites. However, I agree with your opinion on trivializing the economy in Super. But while we're at it, my niece loves the Partner Party and has been playing it since she was like 4 or 5. I think she thinks it's cool getting to do stuff together and having someone to support and cooperate with her really teaches her some valuable lessons about team work. So she enjoys that mode as well as the others, but to that I believe I've circled back to your point... I think they deliberately made a decision to kind of equalize everyone's shot at getting stars and coins. Probably to appeal to families with maybe parents that aren't particularly experienced with video games and also children just getting into them. I think they wanted Super Mario Party to be friendly and approachable to a broad audience, and to that effect I think it was successful. But in defense of your sentiment, I feel ya'. lol When I was a kid we got MARIO PARTY. Your palm would be blistered from Tug of War or Paddle Battle (God... Paddle Battle...) you got CHEATED and abused and screwed over at the last second. There was betrayal and desperation man. Kids today are... not soft but... sensitive to adversity. 😅 So I guess as a developer it must be difficult to find a balance between FUN and FRIENDLY mixed with COMPLEXITY and STRATEGY. Hopefully Jamboree can succeed here.

@@GameBlock_ Thanks for the reply, good video. And yeah, I got Jamboree on Thursday and played it with my sister. We agreed that it was the best Mario Party experience we'd had in a long time. I even met up with my mom and played it. 😆 We used to play it on N64 when I was little. She ended up winning, so it really does give a fair and interesting chance for everyone. I love the game.
We should have the option to choose between linear and non-linear boards.

If it does than i would also like DLC for more boards. I mean 7 is respectable so if we do not get any that is fine, Superstars should have had at least one DLC pack, giving us maybe 1 more board from each game (DK jungle, Pirate Land, Chilly waters/Spiny desert)

I only had 2 complaints for Superstars, not enough boards, and I personally think you should be allowed to have item customization / selection. Never been a fan of the golden pipe and I often have enough coins to buy them frequently, my friends and I typically agree to just not buy them as we feel it takes away from having to plan out your route, and makes it so you don’t have to worry about anything else.
Other than those small complaints, I was so happy with superstars and already happy to have 7 maps in Jamboree

I really enjoyed Super Mario Party initially. Got all 5 gems and mostly enjoyed it. Then I got pretty bored doing the same 4 boards, and my biggest gripe is with the mini game selections. I figure it wouldn't be too difficult to fix this, but even on my shorter games I'd play the same exact mini game multiple times. It really killed it for me. Then Superstars took Boo away from me, which really sucked and it felt like reselling old games. It's great that we got to see those boards revamped, I was wanting exactly what Jamboree seems to be

I feel after that they took away lot of creativity.
Mario party 7 had the idea of setting traps for players. Mario party 4 had probably the coolest maps.
