I don't have a switch yet, waiting on the switch 2 release date first lol But I already started buying a few games now and I chose superstars. I just remember how much fun I had playing all the Mario party games on game cube but the ones I played in 2015 wasn't that good.

I wouldn't dislike shortcuts in Waluigi Pinball, but I'd definitely rather keep my baby simple.

It feels like Jamboree was another step into the right direction, but it still has a problem with coins. U really get way too many of them, like 1 luck-field (like literally every 3rd field is one) and u can get 7-20 coins or even a whole item-bag with 3 items in it. Its just broken. There should be only 3-4 of them on the whole field. Or just remove them, I personally hate them. You dont even need to win mini-games because you get everything shoved up your ass on the map. In MP 4 the genie lamp costs 30 coins, this party the golden tube costs 25. But considering you get so much coins just bc you exist is crazy to me. When you never win a mini-game in MP 4 you really struggle to get coins to buy stuff. And idk why loser get coins. Like you lose and still get like 3 coins and the 3rd 2 coins or something, since when do you reward losing. Its only 2-3 coins but it still can make a difference to me.

The games before weren't that bad.

Can you save your progress if you can't finish your turns?

I think super circuit is the best because it allows you to use more strategies than the other mariokart games like cutting off lanes with bananas and green shells. If I see a banana I can switch to another lane and line my kart up perfectly to get the shell to bounce back and forth straight up to take up the other lane. It's also easier to specifically target racers who are a threat to winning to cup. You can also gain way more ahead of your opponents when your in first place than other Mario kart games. Quick strategic thinking gets to be used in the game and it takes actual skillful driving. I love it when I'm in the back of the line and I have a red shell but I see my opponent in front of me has a red shell too and I stay behind him until they throw their red shell and then pass the person that got hit before I hit them with it.

Just got to say I clicked on this because I strongly disagree with the title. In fact I paused the video at 3 seconds just to comment. Now that the game has been released for about a week I think I can say I have enjoyed every MP up until this one. You say it fixed it, I say it killed it. Its not as fun. The mini games and maps are simplified. I feel the competitiveness and cunningness has been watered down to please those that are not competitive or cunning enough. I know its a Mario game but I think this release is babied and focused on peoples "feelings". The use of strategy and tactics used in previous releases feels lacking here. I no longer feel like hurting my partymates out of rage lol. The game looks prettier and the fact there is so much more in it is great but it was a let down. Also, the female announcer in party mode is not as upbeat as the previous one. This release was disappointing. I would have preferred an update to the previous 2 versions by adding a few new maps and some new mini games.

I know everyone hated the car in 9, but I loved intentionally taking unwise routes on my turn for the other players to deal with. Example being the map with the rising lava. Every turn I stall climbing with bad path choices and items to lower my move count so that everyone touches the lava before it's my turn again, where hopefully the detour if finished and I can escape safely before sabotaging everyone again. 😈

Super Mario Party and the original Mario Party are my two favorites. However, I agree with your opinion on trivializing the economy in Super. But while we're at it, my niece loves the Partner Party and has been playing it since she was like 4 or 5. I think she thinks it's cool getting to do stuff together and having someone to support and cooperate with her really teaches her some valuable lessons about team work. So she enjoys that mode as well as the others, but to that I believe I've circled back to your point... I think they deliberately made a decision to kind of equalize everyone's shot at getting stars and coins. Probably to appeal to families with maybe parents that aren't particularly experienced with video games and also children just getting into them. I think they wanted Super Mario Party to be friendly and approachable to a broad audience, and to that effect I think it was successful. But in defense of your sentiment, I feel ya'. lol When I was a kid we got MARIO PARTY. Your palm would be blistered from Tug of War or Paddle Battle (God... Paddle Battle...) you got CHEATED and abused and screwed over at the last second. There was betrayal and desperation man. Kids today are... not soft but... sensitive to adversity. 😅 So I guess as a developer it must be difficult to find a balance between FUN and FRIENDLY mixed with COMPLEXITY and STRATEGY. Hopefully Jamboree can succeed here.

The first & only Mario Party game i had for years was 5 and i LOVED it, its a shame that it seems to get so much hate (not in this video specifically) because of the captcha machine & no shop but honestly, after playing most of the other games, the shop completely ruins the game sometimes. The next game I got was 4 and was thrilled by the shop at first but it quickly ruined the game 'cause everyone was trying to get to the shop for genie lamps instead of the star (which was always really difficult to even get cause it would be hidden behind tiny warp pipes that you would HAVE to use a mini shroom to get past & you also had to land on the exact spot and if you missed, you'd have to get another mini shroom so it was just easier buying lamps 😭😭😭!!!) I played Superstars today and also DS at the start of the week & similar happened where everyone was more interested in buying golden pipes to get to the star instead of actually trying to get to the star Idk. I think 5 did a great job with the captcha cause sometimes you absolutely smoke the AI in mini games so they can't really buy anything at the shop & you constantly buy pipes/lamps/Triple dice and get way ahead with 10 stars to their 2 just because you bought your way there from the shop lol I kinda like the randomness of the capcha machine, it seems a bit more fair & you have to be even more tactical on how you are best going to use your item instead of just buying exactly what you want all the time But that's just what I think, i know not everyone would think that

I really love Mario Party 7 on my Gamecub, it'a the only game where you could buy capsule. capsule is a item you could buy nad place on the map, it can be anything from helping you to make a danger zone with 5 or more spaces in a row where you guaranteed to lose coins, that is total mayham! I'm not sure if this thing was part of the game or a newer one, for the last 5 rounds you have to spin a wheel, where one of the spaces is: turn red spaces into Bowser spaces, and if you play on Bowsere Carstle you could be unlucky to be trapped , with 6 or 9 spaces xD

my partner and I have put HOURS into Super Mario Party's coop mode. The free movement, ally system, and different character dice blocks require a good bit of strategizing and overall make it a very fresh take. I would love to see it return in SMPJ.

Nintendo is King at half-assing what should be great titles, slapping a staple Mario or Pokemon logo on it, and selling it for full price. At least they are doing Zelda mostly justice.
