I have been watching reactions to this vid for 3 years and it's always amazing. I have heard he had been hospitalized just the night before and sat during this because was so ill.
On another note. He comes from a long line of Cantors and was professionally trained to retain his vocals but even more...I heard he has 0 tattoos out of respect to his heritage and respect to his grandfather and removes his piercings when he visits.
Magnificent instrument he has and mad respect for the man himself for respecting and preserving his heritage!

I saw Conan O'Brien interviewed years ago and he told a fascinating story about that evening. He stated that when Draiman had reached the second stanza, he looked around and every single person that was working backstage that night had come out to watch this performance.
They could not believe what they were hearing. Conan said that was the only time in the history of his show that something like that had occurred.
He himself said the performance was mind-blowing.

David Draiman...one of the best male vocalists on the planet imho. He has a tone to his voice I've never heard before. When he sings....you know who it is. He can go from angelic head voice to rasp/distortion on a dime and back....not easy to do. Also did you notice he can put vibrato on the rasp too? VERY difficult to do. Love your take on it Pandora.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that caught the sexual vibes. It starts out slow and smouldering and builds to the climax. It's like his voice has sex with your soul. And no matter how many times I hear him sing it it's always chills and tears. The official video has a more musical base while the live features his voice more. When he holds that final 'sound'.....wow. It's so clear and seems to go directly to your center.
So wonderful that they choose and write songs with such powerful and relevant messages. I love the humble offering of the song through the outstretched hands at the end.

Great description! Great Reaction! You really get to the depth of these videos. Thanks In most cases I like the live performance better than the "Official" produced video. An artist like Dimash performs live most of the time.In a song like "Stranger" he takes us out of this world. Rammstein's "DU Hast" live from Paris 2013 is the most like Disturbed on Conan I can think of. The "DU HAST" produced Video was good but Live from Paris improved on that song magnificently.

This is how the SONG was supposed to be performed, Simon and Garfunkle created it to and interpreted differently but Disturbed performed it the way it was MEANT to be performed. Two entirely different artists making a masterpiece together. Amazing.50 years apart.Thank you two BOTH of them for this.

I've shed more tears listening to the Conan version of this song than while experiencing the emotionality of 2 divorces.
Paul Simon said that his original version of the song (written almost 60 years ago!) was a warning to humanity, and that Disturbed's version reflects the rage that the warning was ignored. He also said that the song now belongs to David.
