  • Hey Guys, This is Akhil Nema and you are Watching our TH-cam channel Advanced Basics by Akhil.
    In this Lecture of series Civil Engineering interview Questions, I am going to explain one of the most important topic of civil Engineering from the interview loint of view as well as Govt. Exam point of view that is Concrete in Tension and the Difference between Split Tensile Strength and Flexural Strength of Concrete, ........I hope you will enjoy the video.

    Is the Direct Tensile Strength and rupture strength formulas are same??

    • @AN_Akhilnema
      @AN_Akhilnema  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually they both are representing the same Strength for Concrete that is Tensile Strength but their values are not same, Rupture Strength > Direct Tensile Strength.

      You can easily derive these expressions from Bending Equation, otherwise you can refer the book CONCRETE - Microstructure, properties and Materials by P. Kumar Mehta & Paulo J.M. Monteiro.

      This is a indirect method of strength estimation ...here we find tensile strength along later direction using loading in longitudinal direction

    If we do all three test on M30 grade of concrete ,then what is increasing order of strength in terms of its magnitude ,
    is it strength(direct test)>strength(flexural)>strength(splitting tension) ? Or other order please tell me about it.
