    I removed the lacing material from inside the she with a sharp blade. It was glued and stitched. I skipped the first holes and started from the second lacing holes. I have a bunion so it made the pain unbearable. But since my mod, no more blisters and pain.

    Tim I am very concerned with the same issue you’re seeing with the pressure points on the top of the foot and that just from trying the shoe on! My pressure point appears to be from the material buckling when cinching the lacing down (at least at first blush), so I’m going to really be playing with the lacing before going on the first run. While I’m sure I could put a patch of moleskin right where the pressure point is, I feel like a shoe needs to work out of the box without having to deal with inherent problems through accommodations/alterations. I don’t know. Will take it for first run in the next week or so-maybe even tomorrow, so will wait and see. It may go straight back up on eBay. I hope not since I’ve enjoyed the Pro2 and the 3 really does feel better underfoot except for that problem.

      @@RunTall I did in a shoe-off between them the EndoPro3 and the Sky+. I had no issues with any rubbing from that eyelet backing or from the area I thought might also rub where it kind of buckled. Has your rubbing improved at all? Happy New Year!

      I have run in these and I found it’s not possible due to the pressure points. I will try to find some cushions I can put in the shoe where the points are to minimize the pressure. Perhaps the cushions you can buy for corns (similar to band aids).

    That's a shame you haven't got on with the upper so far. The upper on the Pro 2 was awesome and if they had that on this shoe it would be insane in my opinion.
    I find the Pro 3 more stable than the previous version and it's terrific to run in. I have so far put about 30 miles in which has been at a variety of paces from 9:00/mi down to 6:26/mi and it's been fantastic.
    I got mine for £125 so definitely agree at $125, for you guys in the US, it's a great shoe for the money 👍

    • @TolunayOrkun
      @TolunayOrkun ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem was at $125 there were very few sizes available. Even at $175 there are almost no sizes at Adidas app/website. RunningWareHouse in US still has almost all sizes available for $175 which is where I got my pair. It is a decent discount to original price.

    • @RunTall

      Hey Ian. I haven’t given up on it yet. I will definitely be trying it again. If our warm weather holds for awhile longer, maybe sooner than later. Happy New Year!

  • @TolunayOrkun
    @TolunayOrkun ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have Adios Pro 3 and like you bought it at discount for $175. Tomorrow, I will be running in them 15 miles to evaluate for my oncoming Houston Marathon. I also have Takumi Sen 8 which is also full Lightstrike Pro and I love doing my track speed workouts in them. I was able to get two additional pairs of TS8 for $72 each. Lightstrike Pro foam gets better over time.
    In addition to Adios Pro 3, I also have Endorphin Pro 3 which I bought for a super deal of $136 (very short Saucony Amazon sale) That is also in the consideration for Houston as well. I will probably use it for my final 20-mile run before the race.
    So, those two shoes will be up against my previous marathon star, Alphafly v1.
    Regarding training in carbon plated shoes, the jury is still out. I can't say I had PF due to carbon plate, but I think stiff carbon plate on Endorphin Pro 1 inflamed my PF injury further after a hard run HM (which I PR'ed). It took many months to heal. At least for easy and recovery runs I am avoiding very stiff carbon plated shoes. Most of my track workouts are in non-plated Liberate Nitro or TS8 with more flexible rods (fiberglass or plastic).
    IMHO, at slower speeds carbon plate does not add too much, rather it is acting as a stability element against the soft foam (ZoomX, PWRRUN PB). Lightstrike Pro foam itself is not very soft so Adidas gets away with using lighter rods instead.

    • @TolunayOrkun
      @TolunayOrkun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Update: I ran HM (13.1 miles) and skipped the last 2 miles I intended as it was getting pretty dark in the trail. I did not experience any upper related issues that Tim has mentioned. The shoe felt well-cushioned and weighs about the same as Alphafly v1 but it is not as bouncy as Alphafly v1. At this moment, I am leaning towards Alphafly v1 again for the next Marathon race. I need to run some more as Lightsrike Pro gets better over time. Mid-foot Adios Pro 3 was more comfortable than Alphafly v1.
      Next long run I will try Endorphin Pro 3. It will be more familiar since I ran in Endorphin Pro and Speed before. Also, PWRRUN PB (PEBA) normally does not need breaking in period.

    i used to run a lot on carbon assist shoe and it had caused many injuries from ankles to hip. I used carbon shoe sparingly now. However I like to use the nylon on non-carbon shoes 1-2 times a week. Only carbon shoe for racing and parkrun.

    Thanks for the video, Tim. I have a similar problem with this shoe, It's very uncomfortable at the top, where you tie the shoe. I've tried different ways to tie it but it's hard to get a lock down without feeling pain! I never had this problem with the RC Elite v2. I have done daily training with supershoes and I enjoy alternating with normal shoes. I simply enjoy the changes.
    I run easy miles with rebel v3, workouts with adios pro 3, long runs with prime x strung. What are your thoughts on the SC Elite v3?

    • @RunTall
      @RunTall  ปีที่แล้ว

      I fall within the same camp as you. If weather permits, I like to do my long run in the type of shoe I plan to run my marathon in. I think its good practice. I will do speed work in them from time to time as well depending on how I'm feeling. I had the Adios Pro 3 out yesterday to run 1K repeats. I had to run a little loose at the start of the eyelet chain for comfort reasons. It was an okay ride but like you said, I had to sacrifice lockdown. Unfortunately I have had the opportunity to run in the SC Elite v3 yet. I've been eyeing the Endorphin Pro Elite. It looks like an interesting shoe. Have a great day. Thanks for taking the time to comment and keeping the conversation going.

      @@gudboyngdisyerto I've done both. Just last week I did a workout that lasted more than an hour. The shoes felt heavy there. The course I used had a lot of hills and sharp turns. Prime X is not good for those. When I do 11 or 14 miles in them, these are great and make you want to speed up sometimes. I would not buy these for speedwork. I would buy them again for long and progression runs.

    I never was going to buy this shoe, but I'm glad I did. I have many running shoes, some which really stand out for me, but my best splits were done in this shoe. I'm sorry you had these issues, but this was one of the most comfortable, and smoothest shoes I have ever tried.

    @macoyupadoodle ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I went .5 down (due to length) and i also did that so i dont have to tighten laces too tight to get a proper lockdown . My main problem is the void up front that Adidas says people do not use ...............i guess im the exception .

    • @TolunayOrkun
      @TolunayOrkun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since you went down in size, perhaps you are more prone to use that cut-out of the shoe. This is a shoe with extremely generous in toebox width which makes lockdown tricky. I wouldn't personally downsize though because I prefer full thumb width space on my long distance shoes.

    • @macoyupadoodle
      @macoyupadoodle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TolunayOrkun i thought that might be the reason (went down in size ) but most of my other shoes wears down in that area (a bit more towards the center but laterally bias ) when at fast pace it does not become a problem but at slower speeds it feels weird . (Thats why the pro 2 does not work for me as i collapse laterally in that shoe) . But i can say with the pro 3 is that i can hold a faster pace than my other shoes

      I have mixed opinions on this. I’m prone to injury these days and the softer carbon plated marathon shoes helped me like the Vaporfly and AlphaFly. • @RunTall
      @RunTall  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jedrick. Yes I have cracked the code on these! I'm working on my 100 plus mile shoe review and I'll talk more about it in the video. In order for me to run comfortably, I have to leave the bottom half of the lace enclosure system snug but not cinched down. I cinch down the upper part of the laces to get locked in to through my heel. It's been working for me. I hope this helps. Have a great weekend. Stay safe.
