@@And-rc9yyadvertising works. Always.
Unfortunately, podium shoes is more a sponsorship numbers game. Brand with the largest number of elite sponsored athletes = higher chance of podium. That’s why you always see Nike and Adidas constantly on podium finishes. Whereas brands like Saucony with insanely good shoes but lesser sponsorship is non-existent on podiums. Not taking anything away from Adios pro 3 though, insanely good shoe.
Have you try alphafly?
Such a dumb argument. Nike has probably the most sponsorships yet these are winning most races is the point here. 🙄
@@Tritiuminducedfusion clearly you’re not in touch. Look at the elite field start line and tell me how many adidas athletes you see.
Saucony endorphin elite, metaspeed sky plus, alphafly and adizero adio pro 3, lo all yeild similar times for me

That forefoot feel also is present in the new Boston 12. I love that feeling!
Hands down the best teardown and analysis of running shoe I have seen. 👐
I appreciate you
This is the best description of the Pro 3 I've seen anywhere. That kick you mention, from the heel as your foot rolls forward, is the absolute sweet spot and the reason this is the shoe I'd run in every day if could. It really helps on the long runs, when the legs start to go a bit numb and do things on their own, these shoes just protect you, let you rest with poor form for a while then kick back into turbo as soon as you hit that sweet spot again. I've just run a 10k in the Takumi Sen 9s which have a similar feel but I'm now thinking that the Pro3 could have done just as well, with the only downside being around tighter corners where the Pro 3s can be a bit awkward. Thanks for the review!
Glad they’re working well for you
I have both shoes too, and the Pro 3's can definitely do a 5k/10k, but as you say, they're not as good around corners like the Takumi Sen 9's. Both great shoes and fit me perfectly.
This is an amazing technical analysis of the adios pro 3, thank you!
In the midfoot for distances of 1/2 marathon and marathon, the durability is incredible for such a light model, the tongue is very thin and you have to squeeze it slowly and the fit in the heel is perfect.
I always enjoy your uploads even if theyre not basketball related. Your shoe breakdowns are just satisfying and its really fun learning more about shoes. I noticed you dont post much about asics and maybe havent posted about its basketball shoes? Heard they make good ones so im really interested about your opinion about asics basketball!
Thanks! Yeah i do a lot in the tennis space with Asics but will get more into their other lines when I can
Asics makes basketball shoes? I can't find anything on them.

Love the prime x, more but the adios 3 is also a great shoe. The lightstrike pro foam is just Amazing
To me this is the best racer on the market. While not stable in a traditional sense, its very stable for a race day shoe. The Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 is close but I prefer Lightstrike Pro over PWRrun PB Foam. I cant wear teh NIke Vaporfly because my low arches
Looooveee this one. I didn’t like long runs because of pronation and wearing vaporfly for me it was horrible, now with the adios pro 3s I been really enjoying my long runs
So you like the adios pro more than the vaporflys ? I overly pronate too
@@caseydupre5376 yes! There’s more foam on the side on the adios pro compared to the vapor and i think that help me with pronation
Nice. I am an overpronator, i have been using nike structure 24 with mild.stability feature and its good. But i wanted to try these shoes but was afraid if it might not provide stability for my case.
Don't forget all those photos are from an Adidas flagship race, the Boston Marathon. But that said it is still a great shoe. I really like the way the PrimeX Strung works for me as well.
I have these and am an average runner. Inrun in these on long runs and Marathon race day. I have noticed that my legs are very fresh the next day. I do have though Arch on my left foot but these shoes don't bother me at all they are very comfortable to wear they run in for long distances.
Got 2 pairs(got it o sale) really NICE on long runs and really protects your legs.
Kiptum ran half marathon record with this shoes and he is a heel striker. And also ran second fastest marathon.
I watched a running analysis video of him - he wasn't heel striking. More of a midfoot strike. Despite claims to the contrary, I never saw an elite athlete do heel strikes.
I have the AdiosPro 3 And I must say that it is a killer shoe, light, very reactive, quite stable with great grip and it adapts perfectly to my way of walking, which is at the tip for distances of 5/10 km and in the middle.
I run in these and they are incredible.
Okay thanks,.. I’m coping these baddies tomorrow!!
Great job on video
Woow this review is the most valuable I've seen so far regarding this shoes I loved also the ones you've done about prime x strung.
I really curious about your thoughts regarding the high stack running shoes for daily running compared with a more low stack.
I been getting more serious injuries when I use more the higher stack even they are more cushion.
All in all as I said I loce your reviews!
Thanks- I appreciate you
I'm a heel striker, especially in the second half of the marathon. And nevertheless this shoes allowed me to run 2:55 and shave 5min from previous PB. I love them but they have one big issue I guess nobody is talking about, and from my running buddies I know this is a common issue: those two first lowest laces loops are very sticking out and itch you feet on the inner side with every side. I ended not using those loops and started lacing the shoes higher, loosing a bit of stability in corners.
That’s interesting I may pull mine out and see if there’s any work around
I have similar issue in my left foot.
hey doc was wondering if you're gonna review the anta shoe kyrie was spotted in? it was the anta shock the wave 5 i think?
I need to know what socks are on the thumbnail, they look fire. thank you!
Well, that’s a lime and subscribe. Great breakdown of a great shoe.
Any advice you have for PTTD or enxtensor tendinopathy would be awesome.
Depends on the runners goals and strike pattern
LOVE IT!
Additionally you can run really hard with them and the next day there is no fatigue or pain in the legs!!!
Please do this with the mizuno wave rebellion pro shoes, ive a pair and would love to hear what you think
Thanks for your analysis. I wondered if I should break in my new AP3 which I will wear them for my Tokyo Marathon, so it's 4 weeks to go. If so, do you recommend me to just do an-hour easy run or a long run?
Thanks for the review!! Anything planned in the max cushion category like the Nimbus 25?
Yep- working my way into different sub categories of running shoes
Thanks for this video! I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on my experience with the Adios Pro 3 as it was a bit of a miss for me and I'm still trying to figure out why. Background is that I was sent a free pair of the shoes to try out ahead of last years' Berlin marathon because Adidas was doing a user study. I only ran up to about 15-20km in them before race day (which was probably a mistake in hindsight) and I was also given a pair that I think were slightly too big for me. During the marathon I started to get really tense calves even before the halfway mark and after about 30km I was hobbling along in pain with serious cramps (that I'd never experienced before) in my calves and up into my hamstrings. I managed to finish but the final 10km were basically a death march and it took me about an hour to walk the short distance back to my hotel afterwards! So, I'm wondering if there's something about the geometry of the shoe or the drop that really doesn't suit my running gait - I tend to be a mid-to-forefoot striker and I usually run marathons in the Vaporfly Next%. I love the original Prime X Strung and have been a big fan of other Adidas shoes so I would like to like this shoe but I'm wary!
If it’s not a match for your strike pattern then there’s not much else to do- it happens unfortunately
can you make a video about what are the best shoes for shin splint? I recently bought a new running shoe, and I did not feel the pain in my shins that I feel when running in my other shoes and I have many from top known brands.
Would like to see a scoring system on the Nike Alphaflys compared to these? I believe the last review was in 2022 but there wasn’t a scoring system.
Excellent analysis. Thanks. Subscribed.
Welcome to the sneakerverse
I wish Adidas would make a max cushion max bounce basketball shoe again
Yes
Hey Zach, had a question about if you think there are any good super shoes for either wide footers or people with over pronation? It seems like typically, the super shoes have been built for someone with a neutral arch and typically more stable foot strike.
Thanks!
Eh, most arent amazing for PAINFUL or UNSTABLE overpronation - overpronation in and of itself isnt pathologic in most cases
I have a ridiculously large collection of running shoes and run 200+ miles a month . These shoes are fantastic, my pair have over 200 miles on them and look like they'll easily do that again . I have another pair on order. I'm not surprised they're always winning races🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Hey @FootDoctorZach
whats your take in these vs the takumi sen (previous version). I am a forefoot striker and wore through the rubber in the little toe side of my footfoot pretty alarmingly fast. My foot is also low volume. normal width. normal arch but long.
I think the reasoning behind cutting out part of the forefoot is pretty cool. But I’m wondering, why did they do something similar on the DON Issue 4? Shouldn’t it affect support and forefoot stability?
Dosen’t seem to- more aesthetic on the DI4
What are the socks in the thumbnail? I really like them🤣
What shoes do you advise for heel strikers?
My pb on HM 1.16 in non carbon, but I want to buy a super shoe and thinking about AP3
Dr.please Review of the Nike air Max impact 4 ,,, greetings from Campeche México
What best daily trainer shoes for u? Many thanks!
the eyelets loop its killing my toe knuckle, had to wear a thick socks and gel band aid on the blister area. But I hit a PR in this shoe =)
Same here... I had the prime X before this shoe and got the same size, which felt good for a 5k. But after the first 12k+ run I did, I got blisters in that exact spot due to the loops.
I am sure the podium finishes are a combination of things, with the biggest thing being the athlete him or herself. But that midsole material is most certainly number 2. Lightstrike Pro is just really REALLY good. And it lasts a long time, too. Heck, the shoe doesn't even feel like it has the maximum amount of 'pop' or energy return until 75 miles or so.
PS. I know they are called 'Energy Rods', but it's actually a skeletonized full length carbon plate. It even has a perpendicular toe rod (to the primary 'rods) that sits right under the big toe. But it is all one piece.
Interesting that you're describing the plate or rod element as more of a lever than a spring here. This correlates with how I've been experiencing this shoe and the SC trainer recently. And that the bounce is from the foam resiliency, makes sense.
I have a underpronation/supination foot and when running i often get ankle sprint. When i want buy this shoes is it good for type foot like me?
Hello guys! How it for wide feet? I Found endorphin pro 3 very narrow for me, how does adios pro 3 feels?
Excelent vídeo. How much is a short feet?
Is there any chance you may review adidas Boston 12?
One of the best shoes I've ever worn.
Are they good for daily use .. not for running? Like wearing with jeans or shorts for normal walk ??
@@pierrenj79 No.

Most Ethiopians and some Kenyans are sponsored by adidas which is why you see them on the podium so much (along with Nike) and it's almost impossible to beat these guys and gals 😉
Why is it “almost impossible” to beat them?
@@Nige. because race results, podiums and stats prove it
@@r_unner_G yeah but, why is it “almost impossible” to beat them?
@@Nige. because every now and again, albeit rarely, somebody from another country will finish ahead of them (not counting former Ethiopians / Kenyans now representing different countries).
Best running shoes ever!
Will it weaken the foot muscle if worn continuously for training?
These aren’t really trainers
Which carbon plated shoes would fit heel strikers?
Is this shoe by any chance also usable for orthopedic purposes? My daughter doesn't roll off the feet properly, half scraping her feet over the ground
You would have to talk to her doctor about that
Can the Energy rods break easly if you step on gravel?
I frequently wear the Adios Pro 3's on a dirt and gravel fireroad for 20-30 mile 'long runs'. The exposed rods do have scratches on them, but that's it.
I have cracked the plate in the Altra Vanish Carbon on the same road, near the big toe. Those Vanish Carbons were worn out, and the midsole around the very front of shoe was smashed flat, so there was little protection for the plate when it cracked. I only bring this up to illustrate that yes, you have a valid concern, and no, I haven't broken my AP3s (yet)
How about for slow runners?
Anecdotal but my heart rate is lower when I run marathon and half marathon pace in the adios pro 3.
I'll probably sprain my ankle again 😂
Do these soften up a bit over time. Find mine a bit hard.
A bit - nothing crazy though
I'm about to purchase this shoe for a HM, but even I have to admit that the main reason it finds itself on the podium is because adidas sponsor many top athletes 🤷♂️
Where did you buy your flaming socks?
Apthcry
Do Boston 12
Atlast 😊 thanks Doc Zach
What do the rods do?
Acts similar to a carbon plate
Would love your take on a lesser known-yet somehow universally loved-Finnish brand: Karhu. Specifically, these models:
• Synchrony 2.0
• Fusion 3.5
• Ikoni 2.0
Other shoes popping up in my feed lately:
• Topo Cyclone 2
• Asics Superblast
• Asics Court FF 3 (bball shoe)
Cheers!
Brooks Hyperion Max is the best😂, others only marketing gimmick
They cost about 300€ here. Crazy when you know the production cost is something like 25€.
Hard to believe how many mediocre runners pay that money.
The only good running shoes for me in the past 15 years are: Brooks T6 and T7, Nike Vomero + 8 and +9 and the Nike Vapor Fly 4%. These shoes here continue that tradition and are the only ones that work for me now here in 2023.
What the pro2 should have been
If it ain't got a foot-shaped toe box, I ain't buying
hello
Give a podium runner any super shoe, he will still podium
It’s because adidas sponsors a lot of the top athletes in the world considering how big they are as a company… those guys would win in just about any shoe
Socks?
They get on so many podiums because Adidas sponsors the runners who get on the podiums...
1000th like!
Remember the shoe podiums are dictated by shoe brand sponsored athletes who don't then get a shoe choice. Better comparison is the next level of non elites looking for a 'fastest' shoe, or shoe that best suits them
Now i agree with you, but some years ago, nike had a clear advantage. Many athletes sponsored by other brands used a vaporfly painted in black
Ive seen this sentiment in one form or another for a while now- these top racers have their pick of sponsors, there are also PJ shoes out there that are just painted. There's a reason adidas can attract these runners and why they all trust this model of adidas' other really good distance shoes. And I can say for certain, within the brand they have choice of model.
I'll tell you why it gets on podiums..... they pay the best elite athletes the most!!! nothing to do with the shoe, thats all marketing BS! if you dont have the legs, you'll not win. spend money on good nutrition and training. the results woulld come.
