I know you can't test shoes for hundreds of miles... but in my experience owning both the Prime X (600km+) and Adios Pro 2 (150km) and I find the Lightstrike Pro really gets better with time and become a little softer and still holds after 600km.
Prime X was such a surprise GREAT shoe this year for me. I just finished 3 marathon blocks back-to-back-to-back. Prime X was my go-to for training runs over 10 miles and anything in training that included marathon paces. Still raced in the AF V1 but the Prime X totally got me ready for a huge BQ. Bought the AAP3 just because the Prime X was so good. We will see.
They need to break in as with all LIght Strike Pro shoes. I’m using them for long runs and they are much more forgiving than the AAP2 for training and the wider base makes it way better for even slower runs. It really is made for long runs and you can lock in to your pace and just go… it’s a marathon shoe not a 10k shoe.
Wow these shoes are the best out of all the newbies ( except asics meta speed edge, which I haven’t got ), I know you two love the endorphin pro 3🤣, but being a mid foot striker these are very Fast and softer ride a big improvement over the adios pro 2, endorphin pro 3 is also a nice an comfy run but has the same issues as the nb rc elite2 in that as you hardly feel the plate you have to push to go faster unlike the adidas adizero adios pro 3/Nike vf next%1 &2. But that’s just my opinion 🙂
Pretty crazy that over here in New Zealand, the Alphafly and the AAP2 are/were both $400, with all of the other carbon race shoes coming in between $330 (RC Elite 2, Deviate Nitro Elite) and $370. I guess in Nike priced the AF according to the exchange rate, no one here is going to shell out $500+!
Why do Adidas still build on lasts where the big toe ‘point’ is almost in the centre?! Pretty much all other brands have slowly shifted to more foot shaped lasts to one degree or another but Adidas insist on their hoof shape. Weird.
Great review. Could you say a bit more about the Adios Pro 3 versus the Metaspeed Sky+? Sounds like they're similar in terms of cushion and road feel? Or would you say one or the other is bouncier? Thanks.
The metaspeed sky+ is definitely a bit softer and bouncier. It's very similar to the Vaporfly in how it feels. The Pro 3 has a bit of spring from the plate, but a long way from being as bouncy.
Would you recommend these for an Ironman marathon run…. I’ll be at least 1hr slower than my usual marathon time. I wear alphafly for stand alone marathon but I believe I’ll need a more steadier shoe for IM marathon

How does this compare to the ASICS GlideRide 3? You’re saying it’s very stable, comfortable and great at holding pace for longer runs. Same things other reviewers mention about the GR3, so it got me thinking 🤔

I agreed and felt the same. Like aged wine. It gets better but my Pro 1 carbon rods snapped and had to threw them away after 500km
Totally opposite in my case - after about 200k lightstrike is a trash and I need new ones :/ Waste of money.

@nick question on the watch, as you have multiple testing options, are you finding you are preferring the f7,f7s,epix2 or f955?

i want to buy a pair but i have doubts about the size, my size in adizero pro is 11.5 usa i need the same size or i need to go up to 12 usa?

I did that on my right shoe and have no issue with attaching Stryd without sacrificing any lockdown.

Shoes are not stable. It kinda wobbles a bit. I don’t get confidence running fast on these shoes. Alphafly 2 is better.
Between the Endo Pro 3, Next%2, AlphaFly2, and Adios Pro3 witch one feel better at slower paces?
