Yes, this game DEFINITELY brings out the best in people. From what my friends say, and my personal perspective, I can be a pretty “mean” person from time to time, especially when judging stuff or giving my opinion. I’m trying to be a bit nicer, and playing Sky helps a lot. And seeing other players help each other out brings a huge smile to my face. No matter where you live, what language you speak, your academic level, etc, in Sky, we all speak three (main) languages: Kindness, Understanding, and *H O N K*
I don't know what it is about this game that encourages people to help strangers but I love it! Even if you never see each other again it leaves you with a nice feeling :)
I love helping other people because i know it means something to them, if someone was to help me with a big plant, a two player door or anything like that i know i would feel happy so doing the same for others only feels right. Don't be a butt and chibi fall through that vault door when there's clearly enough people to open it. And don't just fly by when someone needs help, you wouldn't want someone to do that with you, would you?
It really is good to see fellow protectors helping about. I spend time patrolling dark realms like Forest, Wasteland or even Eden, helping players however they need. Guiding, lighting, accompanying or cheering them on in hopes that they will brave the rest of their journey!
I feel like helping others in Sky is just too satisfying to pass on. Whenever someone is almost losing winged lights I always try to get them back and lead them to safety. The players are always so thankful and once it happened to me too-and many dropped all the things they were doing just to help. The system is greatly designed to easily help others while also staying anonymous which I love
I consider myself almost a guide for Eden... because I'm always there helping strangers to reach the top, whether taking them or just accompanying to help when necessary. I'm a veteran so I have absolutely nothing to gain from it, but believe it or not, apart from playing music this is the only activity that keeps me playing Sky. That feeling of helping someone who is going through something you've already overcome is priceless. 👑

I was so scared to go through wasteland by myself. I had almost no friends, but I found another moth, friended them, and guided them through without me knowing what I was doing. I felt so brave
Now if only I had a distractor buddy like that when I first did the stealthy survivor spirit.. getting left in the eyes of a Krill and thrown into the water to lose a chunk of wings because I was stuck in a cutscene wasn't that fun...
OMG! Almost the exact same thing happened to me!! I was helping someone with doing that difficult spirit in the hallway. But the Krill was always on our tail. I wasn't too experienced back then, so I was hella scared of these Krills myself but I wanted to help that moth, so I began distracting the Krill here and there. Sometimes I flew back to the moth to help with carrying the spirit. However, the Krill spotted us again, so we both had to hide but I saw the timer running low. I jumped out to hold onto the spirit before it could fade away. And merely a second later the Krill struck me down. However, the spirit was still there and the moth was able to finish the task because the Krill was far away enough then. Yeah this game definitely brings out the best in people✨I'm a veteran now and I help out others players wherever I can still.
When I did this spirit it took atleast 2 hours cause my brother and I kept getting krilled or losing the circle- I really wish someone did this for me cause this is so wholesome!! After I got that spirit, my brother and I always help whenever we hear a ping! When we play and hear a ping or see the symbol we yell at each other “MOTH IN DISTRESS!!!” And fly over to help!
The only time I’ve helped someone is that I was with 2 people in Eye of Eden and the krill was about to hit one of them and I thought they probably didn’t know what they were doing (they looked pretty new) I didn’t want them to experience the trauma of getting hit by a krill so I jumped in front of them at the last possible second and I was hit instead of them, honestly was the bravest thing I did.
So wholesome! I keep meeting and befriending a lot of newcomers in GW. While I don't consider myself as a veteran (bc I haven't unlocked some emotes past seasons after a year return), I tend to leave out candles of encouragement and guides for hiding space from krills, as well as being krill bait to rescue them. Lost some winged lights, but I got to see moths motivated to face the map for a good cause✨

This reminds me of how when multiple players are gathering spirits for a quest (especially carry spirits), everyone follows the spirit to the end even though they could technically leave halfway through and let the others get it done
This brings back memories of a person me and my friends call the wasteland warrior who would always fly into a krills eyesight and bring it far away from everyone. I haven’t seen them for a while though but I hope they’re ok

Watching Journey gameplay helped me prepare the dangers of Wasteland. Now I’m almost like a pro flying through with no fear (with sometimes being detected)
Haha. This story is similar to what i have experienced as a moth. I was a moth at that time who was struggling to relive that same emote in the first krill area. There was a kind veteran who helped me till the end. And before i could add the veteran as a friend, we separated our ways. I got really happy when we relived the spirit, but i turned sad when he left me. However, my golden wasteland protector, wherever you are, I thank you for helping me. :)
I made most of my moth friends by guiding them through wasteland or protecting them from the Krills. I can’t krill dodge but I know that if you deep call then they’ll get their winged light back
my most recent attempt at helping a moth in this area of the wasteland ended in me getting hit by a krill because the moth kept going back into it's line of sight so i was scrambling to try and get it to lock back onto me and when i finally did without hesitating it made it's move and i got launched losing 2 winged light, the moth just looked at me and left. 😔😔
I've played sky for about 295 Hours on the switch and I'm still scared about the krill in wasteland and endn and now there's A new Season of Shattering And its Terrifying TvT
Thought the store is not about wasteland but when I was a moth and I gathered up the courage to visit eden but surprisingly on the way I found another moth I friend him and we both crossed the first krill area but in front of the cave he get to the cave first but he cheered me up as i hot krilled so many times but when I reach that cave, the joy o my god! It was so good! I was so proud of myself and I just realized I loved sky and it's worth it❤
I often wonder how I survived in the Wasteland as a moth for the first month. I was mostly in servers with other moths, but looking back now I think they were excellent krill dodgers to help the rest of us enter the area. 😢 I wish I had friended those groups, they were fantastic fellow moths. (That said I got krilled on sight for like a month after finding every spirit in the main constellations 😭)
Man..i still haven't completed that spirit in that area hahaha and also the 1 in the area where 3 krills are. A friend of mine had sacrificed himself to be a decoy for me to get the crab call. And i lost wings cause of the stealth emote. Good times 😂

On the plus side I found the traveling spirit Edit: Actually being the death seeking idiot that I am I even chased the thing because a kid cought it's attention and I was trying to see if I could help. He got away luckily and still kept playing chicken death edition with the krill and somehow lived

If I see a Kid near the Krill or Krill going to attack a moth or any sky kid pro. I do mid honks to worn them. I made this idea. I'm like a security or something?

I remember being helped but I didn't have the bowing emote yet and then my net broken. Still feel bad for not thanking them properly.
Hopefully this goodness leaks out of the game and into real life too. Sky friends are the best people I have met in person, as well as ingame.
