There were so many of these that I'd never seen. An amazing and beautiful set of idents, and a great video to cover them. Since you mentioned it at the end, you've GOT to call the video on the November Relaunch "Back to Square One."
I always loved the idea of these and enjoyed all the ones I saw, though being a continuity nut who likes everything to be neat and tidy relative to everything else, I found the thought of so many new idents with no 'central' ones overwhelming in real time. In hindsight - now that we're back to bankrupt prosaic idents, but also now that I've seen this video - I appreciate ITV Creates for the inimitable labour of love it was. Great work.
Quite a few of these were new to me, as Northern Ireland only got the greatest hits on rotation after the plc used the pandemic as an excuse to reduce UTV to a brand name rather than a station and finally jettison Julian Simmons for good. At least they had the courtesy to put out a voiceover on Day Zero welcoming the Emerald Isle to the mothership, accompanied by, would you believe, the zoetrope ident, you know, the one harking back to the earliest days. Though it left the poor dears recording the announcements in England with tongue sprain pronouncing some of the Irish names that had infiltrated their scripts. And there was the howls of laughter and eye rolling from comedians and journalists when the ITV announcer rendered UTV's political analysis programme View from Stormont as "Views from Stormfront". Though it would have burned money building and shooting everything a second time, I'd have loved to see a UTV Creates. That balloon Christmas one might have gotten even more out of control. Funny, but not funny-ha-ha, how the '22 rebrand basically did what people expected Oneness to do at Christmas, stick Santa in a field and call it a day. And you're absolutely right, the '89 logo IS the best. But now on the ITV...
Something to note, UTV didn't get these for a while - we had variations of the 2016 version up until 2020 where COVID was used as an excuse to jettison the name into merely the brand name for the news programs altogether. I suspect STV never got them as well.
I didn’t really like ITV Creates, I have to say. The idea was good, and the designs were undoubtedly creative, but there was a coldness to them. I think the big issue is illustrated by how quickly you breezed through each week - it wasn't a cohesive package, wasn't flexible for special events like the Rugby World Cup or drama programming and actually didnt help to establish the ITV logo in the same way that Channel 4's 2004-2015 idents did. By depicting it in such abstract ways, the logo became vaguer and vaguer. Probably didn’t help that it coincided with ITV's continuity becoming even more generic than before. The music was no good, it didn’t really give anything to base the announcements off if you know what I mean. Covid didn’t help obviously, but what they should have done was make one version of each of the weekly idents (instead of the five or six we ended up with) and run them in random rotation. The closest we got to that was a different set of idents daily, but really there was no need to drag it throughout the entire year because some designs were forgotten due to their shortness. Everyone says the 2013 lot were boring and dull but I thought they were really good: there was a recognisable piece of music behind every one, the flexibility that this package lacked, and the ability to show different idents depending on the time of year to better fit the programming. The colour of the logo blending in with the idents was also a nice touch. The new ones aren’t that good, but then ITV are seemingly starting to care less and less about branding with each new look.
It sums up the mentalities of the networks-money to burn & rather than spending time worrying about the quality of the shows they produce, they are more worried about idents, virtue signalling to pretentious art luvvies etc & want to change them every week or month, or have multiple of them going at the same time like ITV. None of them are remotely as good as the ones the networks used to have for years, or even a decade or so back in the 1980's & 1990's. What could ever beat the eye catching Channel 4 logo & music from the 1980's? Certainly not walking bits of metal.

Great video as always.
My two favourites
The zoe trope and Iron filelings.
Super stuff.
My German shepherd layed a warm sausage that was similar to the ITV logo. I submitted it but i never had a reply.
😂😂😂Would have looked great with the steam wafting up 💩🐶

Excellent, I really enjoyed that!

ngl it’s safe to say this was proof the 2013 itv logo was here to stay
at least, for a longer while than usual
Maybe they’ll do a rebrand in 2025 for Rediffusion/ITV’s 70th anniversary
Finally! ITV needs to revive their regional identities or do some rebrand for their 70th birthday coming up in a year or so (at least in London)…
Technically ITV did create an ident of their own. If you count a BARELY VISIBLE LOGO
Enjoyed this. Never seen any of these. I’m into television but bar sport don’t actually watch it now.

Virtue signalling? Pretentious art luvvies? Hmm...
Edit: do you use "virtue signalling" a lot because it's often a huge signpost
