Very interesting piece and turned out very neat. Really had to watch the whole thing to see where you were going after you drilled those holes. Quite unique.
Nicely done, Carl. I don't know why the wood turning world has been slow to adapt to the Easy Wood chucks, but i love mine. To me they are a no-brainer. I own about 3 or 4 of them. Changing jaws is a breeze. I'd rather be woodturning than screwing and unscrewing jaws on the other brands.
Very well done Carl. Really nice design. Very innovative. Wood selection and finish is outstanding. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂 Have a good time in Portland. I cannot attend this one but will see you at SWAT.
nice piece, Carl I really like the continuity of the two walnut pieces as the appear to go through the urn. One thing I noticed was during some pars of the video you appear to be wearing open-toed sandals. This would be a definite no-no at our club as we consider it a safety hazard. Just thought I'd point it out..The turning isn't the only thing some of us notice on you videos. I hope Portland was fun.
Very nice. I would like to add some carving to my practice and this is inspirational. A question about installing the rings when grain pattern is important to maintain. I have a box turned to the point of putting the rings in and my first thought was the glue align the lid and body and glue the rings in place while tightened together, but I am nervous that I will end up with some glue in the threads. Have you figured out a good process to keep the grain pattern aligned?
Thank you very much Marc! You're right, just put a little epoxy on the rings and turn them until the grain aligns. I normaly epoxy one side and let it dry and then the second one will spin a little to align your grain. Give me a call if you have any questions, my number is on the Niles Bottle Stopper website.
Hey Carl I have't been on your post in ages.... TH-cam does this (hides people you subscribe too) and lovely piece, very interesting to see you approach so many bits to this that some might not notice.... great effort #Carl Jacobson @Carl Jacobson
Cool project! Got a question for you? I started turning duck calls. Good Fun! I’m in an area with a lot of great duck hunting so I’m gonna try to sell some. On average what do you or others charge for a duck call I’m sure region and materials make a difference Just basic price would help. 🤷♂️ As always Thanks! KB
Very strange you came out with this video today!! 3 days ago I ordered a block of Walnut burl. I recently had a liver kidney transplant and had been faced with reality/mortality. Anyways I plan on making as many little urns as I can for my friends and family. In case things go south.🤔🫡🤠
@@CarlJacobson oh I'm doing excellent I'm 52 but I'm back in school to become an EMT so I can pay it forward somehow. I got a young ladies liver and I'm hoping to someday prove to her parents that they made the right choice!
Beautiful urn Carl. Thank you for walking us through your process.

Also, the one time that I needed service on a chuck, they were more than acommodating. Just great customer service.
Thank you! I'm not sure why not either I love mine and wouldn't give it up 🙂
Great job Carl! You always come up with interestingly designed projects.
Thank you very much!

Thank you Tom! Yes I think I was wearing sandals at one point. This took me a few days to make I was in and out of the shop a lot. 😐
That's nice, Carl. I'm guessing you had to chase Robin out of the shop when you did the walnut.
Bill
Thank you Bill! Yes I had to quarantine her 🙂
I guess what I ordered isn't burl..? looks like it it's probably Claro..😊 table leg blanks from an exotic wood place

Thank you very much! Yeah TH-cam does the same thing to me. I've been subscribed to people for years and have to search for them.
Hi Carl, nice urn. I am wondering how many cubic inches you've got inside your urn ?
Thank you! I'm not sure I didn't measure this one but it's pretty small.
