If you replace the original 2000 F150 gas cap with a locking cap from Autozone can that cause the P0453 code. This F150 has a locking cap and I am getting the PO453 code. Been driving with it that way a few years without any problem but probably need to get rid of the engine light so if another problem arises and engine check light returns I will know to check for a different code.
Hello, you can get your vehicle's special funnel, insert it in the fuel filler, and spray the WD40. If after cleaning the filler and the problem continues to persist, we suggest to have your vehicle checked by your local mechanic for further diagnosis.
@@nondainc I’m curious what it means when it refers to higher pressure sensed. Wouldn’t higher pressure indicate a tight seal creating a good vacuum effect to the evap system? Or is it quite the opposite meaning it’s leaking somewhere and not sealing?
I have this P0453 error code from my wife 2011 Mercedes Benz GLK 350. I replaced the sensor already, clean fuel cap and try to disconnect battery for 5 minutes but still having same error code. Can anybody share any other solutions?
Got 3 codes, 0446, 0452, and 0453 which all say EVAP system. One says vent while other two are low and high pressure EVAP readings. When I open gas cap it hisses for a bit. I'm guessing the vent is plugged up since it's 2004 Chevy truck. Any ideas?

Hi David, kindly clean both the door seal and the filler neck to prevent dirt from entering the fuel tank and to ensure both sealing surfaces are clean.

How do you get to the fuel tank pressure switch? Do you have to remove the gas tank??
Hello, it is located inside your fuel tank or on top of the fuel tank near the hanger assembly that holds the fuel pump in the fuel tank itself.
Is there any videos to show 2013 Crv fps location? Could it be a fuse, P0453.

My truck has this code but it’s a cap-less gas filler. Clean and cycle the plastic spout into it? Wd40 is okay to get in the gas tank?

@@lh98the video doesn't make any sense. A P0453 usually has something to do with pressure buildup in the tank or false pressure readings

Hi Annie, we suggest cleaning the gas cap. Inspect the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor's condition and replace if necessary.
We 2011 Ford Escape no gas cap is there you clean where the gas goes in the tank
